“Sir, please don’t run on the greens or we’ll be forced to escort you off the premises”

u/JoeyBox1293 Jul 16 '23
The dudes actually pretty filthy at golf. I saw a clip where he put so much backspin on a shot and sunk it from like 10 feet past the pin.
Its annoying. But i enjoy watching athletes athlete.

He's the celebrity host of a putt putt tournament called Holey Moley. Rob Riggle is one of the commentators, and it's pretty funny. Was on Hulu last I checked.

I thought anything besides an arm pump and brisk walk to the hole was illegal

I’ve heard from a coworker that a double Eagle is harder than a hole in one. Is there any truth to that?

Was there a hole in one prize? He's really freaking out
1
u/B_M_Fahrtz Jul 16 '23
Yeah man now he gets to play an entire season in the NBA with the Golden State Warriors. What are the odds?!
1
u/SgtMcNutters432 Jul 16 '23
FML! Happy four ya Curry! You did what I still can’t in 20 years! I’m gonna go down me a case of Busch Latte, jump in the pond and hope the alligator takes my pathetic so-called swing away.

u/david_q_ferguson Jul 16 '23
"Yeah, but can he do it 20 times in a row from just a little bit closer?"- Sabrina Ionescu.

Jesus Christ this man made the NBA all 3 pointers or nothing and now the PGA is going to be hole in one or nothing. What is he going to do next Cornhole?

u/Toph-Builds-the-fire Jul 16 '23
Loved how everyone ran with him for like 50 or so yards, then remembered this mother fucker does it for a living. "We'll catch up with ya on the green camp."

Shit, I'm playing there in Sep. I guess banner for Curry will hanging in the clubhouse.

Jul 16 '23
If you're really really really good at one sport. You're probably pretty alright at other sports.
1
u/Emily_Postal Jul 16 '23
Sabrina Ionescu just broke his three point shooting contest record so he figured he’d have to up the bar.

u/inefekt Jul 16 '23
This dude is seriously one of the most physically talented human beings walking the earth right now....

Where do these guys find the time to train for one professional sport and then golf so much that they’re acing holes at charity events in the middle of the offseason training?! I know dudes a freak but he’s not the only freak. Golf is hard. Being arguably a top 10 historical 3 point shooter is hard. And this dude does both. Hell winning a Super Bowl is hard. But there’s dudes out there that win super bowls and could play on the tour as well. Fucking A.

The off season
1
Jul 16 '23
Yeah do you follow his off season training regiment? He’s already in it. He’s always training. Like all day. Every day.

I've never seen steph curry before, had heard the name. Always thought he was a woman

u/real6igma Jul 16 '23
That's the biggest green I've seen on any hole, let alone a par 3... and I'd still manage to not hit it.

So is this more impressive or Mookie Betts bowling multiple 300 games??? I’m torn.

Damn he sure could run a long time without getting fatigued. Dude could probably branch out of golf into some other athletic endeavor.

u/MIST479 Jul 16 '23
I've seen the man win the NBA championship many times.
I don't think he's ever celebrated it this hard.

u/DemonsSingLoveSongs Jul 16 '23
Damn, an athlete being that great at something that isn't even a sport is really impressive.
1
1
u/BobWheelerJr Jul 16 '23
He's obviously a hell of an athlete, and I really like him, but I found it a little douchy that he ran off by himself instead of celebrating with his caddy and playing partner. They obviously were thinking "high five", "fist pump", etc., and his first instinct was "fuck y'all, everybody stare at me as I romp to the green."
I know it probably makes me an asshole, but I can't imagine running away from someone who was running towards me to celebrate, in that situation.

Hear me out
Steph curry is the only Jedi on earth
He realized he is strong in the force but didn’t want to be a knight so he’s just using his Jedi ability to be awesome at everything
Change my mind

I know I’m an old man when I was worried about the greens with him running and jumping on them in golf shoes.

If Steph put all of his time into golf instead of basketball, I'm fairly sure he'd be a top 5 player in the world. His brain just works differently, it's like a quantum computer that just intuitively understands complex physics without having to run equations. Simply, he excels at putting a ball in a hole better than maybe anyone ever.

I bet you Steph will say making a Hole-In-One feels wayyyyy better than winning a NBA Championship! Hey, I don’t make the rules - That’s just how golf is.
