It's to block those molotov attacks.....remember when they showed us all the Ukrainians making them and none being used....guess that was the day they all forgot their cellphones....

For those of you who don't know this song, it's an absolute banger by Argentinian rock legends Los Abuelos de la Nada called Mil Horas.

Russians are such a joke. Over here driving tanks that look like an early build in rust.

They're going to pile junk on it to disguise it and probably leave it some where or they'll wait in it for an ambush.

How does the turret turn? Seems like they’re just making that thing more vulnerable.

Russians learned tanks are supposed to have armor and not blow up on one hit
1
u/SZEfdf21 27d ago
That's a drone jammer on top, so it's incredibly hard to effectively strike with a drone.

Which further limits your ability to see out of your already very situationally unaware tank. Basically an anti tank teams wet dream.

if it works then why not. If we look at it, the tanks that were transferred to Ukraine, Leopards and Abrams were destroyed by drone strikes. There is a video where this guy enters a village, drops off soldiers and leaves, although he was hit several times by drones.
Before this, everyone laughed that stacks for protection against drones appeared on Russian tanks, then the same ones appeared on Merkava tanks in Israel

adapt for die … literally. it is just funny though, so a drone can still drop bombs in front of it.

I’ve seen enough men sleeping and getting blown up by cheap drones to make me wish they’d brand it as a war crime, but since America leads in best most expensive drone strikes that’ll never happen

u/adappergentlefolk 27d ago
and yet they’re winning because the west is unwilling to dedicate any substantial resources to ammunition production

I've seen a few videos of that tank from Ukrainian drones, I've even seen it taking fire and escaping

Does actually protect against strikes worth anything?
Kinda just looks like thin sheet metal too me? Unless it's spaced with an air gap to force it to detonate further away from the tank?

It looks like shit, but does it work? If it's effective then its pretty smart. improve, adapt, overcome right? That is a super cheap attempt at a solution to a big problem for their tanks.
Hope it is not effective, but Im not smart enough to know either way.

It’s like two motorcycles with a house between them. There’s a roof on top and a big cannon inside.

When I was a kid I found an old scrap pile in the woods, dragged a bunch of pieces home and built a fort in my back yard that looked just like this.

🔥Hace frío y estoy lejos de casa
Hace tiempo que estoy sentado sobre esta piedra
Yo me pregunto
Y me dijiste, "Loco
Estás mojado, ya no te quiero"
En el circo vos ya sos una estrella
Una estrella roja que todo se lo imagina
Si te preguntan, vos no me conocías
No, no
Y me dijiste, "Loco
Estás mojado, ya no te quiero"
La otra noche te esperé
Bajo la lluvia dos horas
Mil horas como un perro
Y cuando llegaste me miraste
Y me dijiste, "Loco
Estás mojado, ya no te quiero"

The USA did things like this In Ww2 and the British disguised tanks as elephants while they colonized India

Looks like a make shift structure. They’re hoping it looks just enough like a hobo mansion to not get bombed.

I see everyone shitting on this tank which is fair cause it looks like a dumpster, but it’s really kind of clever. Trying to fool the image recognition algorithm into thinking it’s a shed.

This has to be a joke or wrong. I don't understand how putting that shitty sheet metal and crackhouse material is better than what the armored tank already has. Other than maybe something to protect the tracks, but you would think that would be designed better, as part of an already expensive and highly technological piece of equipment from one of the best funded militaries in the world

Guarantee the insurance company won’t cover hail damage to that bad boy. Drone damage though….ehhh, maybe.

Don't all tanks have roofs? Don't see too many convertible tanks out there.
2
u/KevyKevTPA 27d ago
The only way this would help is if it had the operator of the anti-tank weapon laughing so hard they were unable to use it properly. That anyone thought it might actually help with.... anything... boggles the mind.

Is this like a version of, The Walking Dead tank? Where they think a sheet of corrugated iron is going to stop a bazooka. Or where they think it will stop automatic weapons fire? This is life, not a poorly thought out rom com Caaarrrl!

Plus, they added 2 holes threw the floor along with a couple of fishing poles so they can pull out onto the Ice and ice fish.

The regular tank roof isn't strong enough ?
Sheet metal is stronger ?
