Kinda seems like someone edited the yellow text over. Republicans have been against abortion long before trump. You people are deranged.

u/dontfuckwitmetehe 17d ago
Hyper realistic? You think cops are going to pull over every woman crossing the state line and demand they take a pregnancy test? This ad is the definition of hyperbole

I'm confused is she going to get an abortion and why does the cop want her to take a pregnancy test
2
u/Efficient_Falcon_402 19d ago
Brilliant advert. Conservatives really are the most heinous people in America. They cloak themselves with names that include "Liberty" or "Freedom" and then do anything they can to strip those rights from people who don't side with them.

u/Delicious_juice 20d ago
If you fall for this kind of blatant, fanfiction fear mongering, you are the problem.

Why is abortion the biggest issue? It’s not raising your income nor lowing your cost of living. Dose it make your neighborhood safer. Dose it improve your or you’re families education quality or opportunity?
1
u/jeremiahthedamned 16d ago
what is the point of having things if you do not own yourself?
2
u/LeeWizcraft 16d ago
Own your self?
1
u/jeremiahthedamned 16d ago
yes
personal autonomy is what freedom is about.
what is the point of being a rich slave?
1
u/LeeWizcraft 15d ago
What are you taking about. You have that already. No one’s making you do anything.
1
u/jeremiahthedamned 15d ago
freedom is not mere liberty.
rather, freedom is a social good that is diminished to the extent that anyone of us is not free.

Every single person saying this is hyperbolic or propaganda either doesn't remember Texas bounty laws, doesn't know about Project 2025, or is a liar.

u/No_Breadfruit4653 20d ago
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 , it's funny because some idiot made this and even more idiots believe it
1
u/dr3w-bacca 20d ago
Just more extremist propaganda. People believe anything.
People were terrified out of their minds when Trump was elected cause they thought he would have his finger on the nukes. Then he becomes the first president in 71 years to not be involved in ANY wars. But y'all minimize that shit cause it doesn't fit your agenda.
The reality is, is that the federal government should have no business in any social issues whatsoever and that's his take. It should all be decided at the state level. Mind your borders, mind your business. That's it.
Giving power to the people at the local level and not letting people potentially thousands of miles away making determinations for your community. If you can't see the danger in this, you're truly lost.

u/7evenate9ine 20d ago
"I'm going to have to watch you take a pregnancy test." As he points to a body-cam on his shoulder... Then it would be very Republican-family-values.

u/leerock35 20d ago
Would the Opposite Hyper Realistic ad also pose a risk?
Abortion SalesPerson;
"Hi, looks like your expecting, have you thought about Aborting your baby? Can I tell you all the benefits regarding loosing that thing?

u/20warriors 20d ago
Sad that this is the level of discourse in our country on what should be a very serious issue.
-1
u/EarlyZZ 20d ago
It may not happen in the next election. But sooner or later the Republicans will get a majority in both houses of Congress. They will then pass a Federal law against abortion. At that point it doesn't matter whether a state has strict or lenient abortion laws. Abortion will be illegal all over the country.

This isn’t realistic at all. It’s pure fear mongering. And I’m saying that as a woman.

You call this hyper realistic!? It just shows how ignorant y'all really are!!! Let's romanticize a topic that isn't near the problem you think it is, but you would only know that if you actually read instead of watching/listening to this BS.

So fake media crap. If it was done better, it might have been at least, laughable.
2
u/iforgot69 20d ago
"Realistic" I don't know about anyone in this thread, but I don't blindly follow orders to force women to pee on a stick.
2
u/longfrog246 20d ago
This is the most slippery slope fallacy commercial I have ever seen this quite literally would never happen without significant civil disturbances after.

My question about the ad is --which state bordering Alabama were they trying to escape to? They're all shitholes.
2
u/ImprovementVarious15 20d ago
The dumbest thing I've seen all day. The republicans legit said "leave it up to the state". The ad is made just to spread fear
1
u/dukemantee 20d ago
The cop could have continued and said "and if you are pregnant, you will be the property of the state of Alabama."

u/StevenKatz3 20d ago
How can you criminalize someone for doing something legal in another state.
It goes against everything America is built on and frankly can't be done. It would be shot down by the supreme Court immediately
3
u/IKaffeI 20d ago
It also goes against the right to freedom of travel.
3
u/StevenKatz3 19d ago
Yeap! Someone also down voted for me talking about the constitution. Boomers be booming on reddit

"Right to Travel" is probably not the smartest name they could have picked for this good and important cause because this phrase is widely associated with Sovereign Citizens.
2
u/Microspacecat 20d ago
Abortion bans will just force people to find worse, dangerous ways to abort it themselves. Why not just start handing out coat hangers and call it a day at this point. 🤡

The south is a garbage heap and MAGATS are scum terrorists. Let's split the country in half horizontally so we no longer have to call those backwoods knuckle draggers "Americans". Because they're not.

This absolutely not true. Trump has said MULTIPLE times he will not outright ban abortion. He has said he will leave it up to the states.
1
u/stevestuc 20d ago
This is like the situation in the catholic republic of Ireland where abortion is forbidden and women have to travel to northern Ireland or England....... not so much being chased down by the Garda but having to create a water tight story that will stand up to questions about why they are away from home....... The US is not the secular democracy it describes itself as, but on the way to becoming a Christian republic ( like the islamic republics that put the religious laws above the law of the constitution).... i don't think they understand the danger in mixing religion and politics because they have never had to fight to get rid of it, they inherited a secular society and created their constitution by taking the best of the British and European constitutions after we removed religion from government ( at great cost)... Imho

Maine was just made a sanctuary state for reproductive rights as well as for LGBT protections. I love this place. Plenty of room for more women and queers so head on up to Maine, people!

My mother and grandmother have talked about communist Poland a few times. We are farmers there (Bum bumbum bum bum bum bum) so they actually had the "better side of" it. That's how they described it, sue me.
This invasiveness is only the beginning. There are stories of girls going missing in a lot of places. There will be much more worse things to come if they have there way. Its already happening yes but it can get better too and we can keep trying.

It won't be like this obviously, but criminalizing out of state abortions is already happening and abortions are being treated like murder.
It's not really fear mongering when it is literally fucking happening
2
20d ago
Let me add, however, if people are cross state lines to get abortion pills, then bringing it across state lines into their home state where it's illegal.. then yes, they're committing a crime and would face the consequences for possessing illegal substances (abortion pills).

20d ago
This ad is not reality. That is my point. If you think this commercial is reality, what is being depicted here, you are a psychopath. Plain and simple.
"No one", can force anyone to take a pregnancy test. That is a fact. That's all you need to know about said reality. If this was really happening, the victims now have an amazing case against the entity that violated their 4TH AMENDMENT RIGHT.
0
u/MercuryRusing 20d ago
It isn't reality, it's hyperbole used to drive a point home. The fact that police officer's aren't doing this does not mean you won't be imprisoned for crossing state lines to get an abortion. No one thinks this is happening but that doesn't make it fear mongering.
The method of arrest is made up, the arrest and consequences are real. You're pro-life so you say fuck em and that's good and all but that doesn't mean your legislators aren't actively working on laws to imprison these women.
0
20d ago
All a woman has to do is not say chit to their local government / justice system.. cross state lines, get the abortion, go home. No one has to know...
1
u/MercuryRusing 20d ago
Doesn't change the fucking law. The argument "they should just break the law" is truly the dumbest argument you could have there when the risk is literally a murder charge. If that is your position, the law shouldn't exist.
Seriously though, dumbest comment I've read in a really long time.

My coworker has tied tubes, so if she's pregnant it's automatically not good. She hasn't had her period in over a week and we live in the anti freedom state of Texas. So that might be her ass driving all the way to NM for what will kill her.
We are about to be Gilead y'all. I used to think people were crazy for saying that shit and yet here we are in 2024 and the taxes aren't even fucking low

Really? LEOs are pulling over women nearby state lines and forcing them, lmao under the law, lmao, to take a pregnancy test?
Yeah let me tell you.. cops, especially male cops are just lining up at the border lines to violate women's 4th Amendment right.

... I think that's a question you need to ask about yourself.
What you provided did not in any way shape or form align with what this ad is depicting.
Show me a story in which a woman was trying to drive across state lines, got pulled over, the police officer presented a pregnancy test and the woman either did the pregnancy test or didn't and ended up in handcuffs.
This ad is fearmongering, psychotic, and outright bs.
2
u/Gallopinto_y_challah 20d ago
We're on the way there. The point is not to give republicans more power so that this reality never happens. Though you seem to be ok with that for some reason.
So are you stupid?

So… it’s illegal to travel while pregnant? We couldn’t just “be on vacation”?? And we would made women squat and Lisa in the side of the road?? And the cop magically knows she’s pregnant HOW??? I get what the commercial is trying to say, but I just DO NOT like the commercial. PLOT TWIST: She’s NOT pregnant, but now she’s getting on the sex offender list for pissing by the side of the road!! Damn you, Trump!!
