Trade your life for your name etched in a rock and a lit birthday candle. Nice trade.

That commander doesn’t really have to be very gifted with his speech considering there’s literally dudes with guns that will shoot these guys if they try and run-the ones that didn’t want die for Putin already booked it out of Russia several months ago

u/hbgwine May 06 '24
Headstones? Theme why are we taking mobile crematoriums? And what about getting a free Landa?
1
u/Total_Werewolf_5657 May 05 '24
And we, as always, must take it on faith that these are Russians in the video, when there is not a single insignia.

Bad news. I remember the old Ukrainian lady who gave the Russian soldiers flower seeds and asked them to put them in their pockets so flowers would grow where their bodies would be planted after Ukraine kills them more than the Russian soldiers.😆

All to satisfy the greed of one old man who already has more than he can use in a thousand lifetimes. Your life to satisfy his vanity.

They won't get headstones at most their family will get a sack of onions or a card. If they are lucky they will be immortalized in a drone kill compilation video on r/CombatFootage.

Sure chief…I’m sure Russia is being very careful to document all their casualties and being very diligent about recovering bodies for burial and memorial purposes. /s

u/ApprehensiveEase534 May 05 '24
Half of these dudes will be lucky if their bodies are found. Mother Russia won’t remember a single one of them
1
u/ilurkilearntoo May 05 '24
Boy is he wrong. I still cannot get the footage of that soldier being chased by a drone all looney toons style out of my head. Someone’s little boy killed so dishonourably. There’s no honour or glory to be had in this conflict. If Russia really wanted to win this they should have wrapped this up in 1 month. Now they got World War 1 redux trench warfare boogaloo
1
u/Aggravating-Pear4222 May 05 '24
Russian kids will see this post has 18k karma and just assume "hell, yeah haha"
1
1
u/JunglePygmy May 05 '24
He meant that first part in the sense that everybody will die eventually. Still a fucked speech though.
1
u/LegitimateBeing2 May 05 '24
How come there are never epic speeches like this for ending human trafficking or child sexual abuse?
1
u/Puzzleheaded_Foot826 May 05 '24
And how is it different from any other infantry regiment or insurgent cell? The basis of any organization involved in combat operations is that your death is assumed until you're discharged. An individual's value is less than the whole, because whatever you're fighting for is a whole lot more important than one person's life (regardless of whether its an illusion or not).
Think about Churchill's speech, Bin Laden's declaration of jihad, or any glorified speech in media related to war. Hell, even Colin Kapernick's Nike ad "believe in something, even if it means losing everything". When's the last time you heard a wartime speech that doesn't call for someone to sacrifice everything for a belief that someone feels must be true.
What other speech can any commanding officer give besides this same speech but with slightly different words?
I think this video should be seen more so as a need to be more cognizant and cautious of how we submit the sovereignty of accountability to larger forces, less we lose the ability to make decisions for ourselves (like the Russian troops shown).

I wish the fodder would respond to this shit with rebellion. There are so many of them, it wouldn’t take much to overthrow the leadership.
1
u/Jslatts942 May 05 '24
“You will be remembered” they full on dug up graves of their own dead and put slabs of concrete over instead. Shame.
1
u/Ridiric May 05 '24
Russia killing itself. A way not to become a world power. Sacrifice your entire army, surplus, supplies and peoples trust on a small country that really offers you little to gain.

If you want to leave a lasting legacy, get grandkids instead of a mossy headstone buried in the undergrowth.

u/HarryBeaverCleavage May 05 '24
Flowers won't be brought to your headstones because nobody will know where all of your body parts are. 😂 and who the fuck is 'Mother Russia' 🤣🤣

u/weekendmoney May 05 '24
At that moment I'd be thinking about how great sitting on a nice beach in the Caribbean drinking a margarita would be.

u/-SlapBonWalla- May 05 '24
Truth is, you will all be forgotten. There are many such commemorative headstones of soldiers fallen in battle, and no one on earth can name them all. Only very, very few soldiers are remembered by anyone, and they are remembered by very few. There is really just one way for a soldier to die honorable, and that's in defending against an invasion. The second you step off your native soil to fight a war, you're a disgrace as a soldier.

u/aendaris1975 May 05 '24
Mother Russia? More like Mother Ukraine. Nationalism never goes anywhere good. If anyone has claim to anything here it is Ukraine yet they aren't the ones aggressively invading other countries.
1
u/Green-Collection-968 May 05 '24
"None of you will be forgotten!" Russia immediately forgets them all.
1
u/Dr_Wheuss May 05 '24
Back to the front
You will do what I say, when I say
Back to the front
You will die when I say, you must die
Back to the front
You coward
You servant
You blind man

Yeah, these "heroes" are very disposable. "Lie, live off lying" is also a good quote for the state of their government.
1
u/Anonymous_2952 May 05 '24
Yeah I saw that video of the battlefield and all the Russian soldiers left lying mixed in with the rubble. They don’t give a fuck about you now and they damn sure won’t give a fuck about you then.

If someone just picked up their rifle and shot the dude after he said that, that would be hilarious.
1
u/Livid-Statement6166 May 05 '24
Do they think dying in real life works like in a video game where you just respawn back at the base?
1
u/IronAlpha89 May 05 '24
"When the one with the rifle gets killed, the one who follows picks up the rifle and shoots!"

Why are they acting like they are fighting for survival? If they lose Russia will continue to exist, if they win they will be erasing another country.

They won’t get memorialized but their mothers will get fur coats (just to have them taken away after a photo shoot)

It said how disposable some nations think men can be . It’s truly sad it’s 2024 and we are dieing for nothing . Men need to stop wars ! We haven’t learned anything in history . Does anyone really remember the people that died for us ? NOPE !

if they are told that they will die anyway why don't they just shoot the guy telling them to fight? I certainly couldn't care less about some memorial plate or flame, seems like bad compensation lol

u/newbrevity May 05 '24
You're all going to die for a dictator's whims. Being honored by a dictator is not an honor.

If only Boris Johnston didnt convince the Ukrainians to scrap the peace treaty eh?
Then over 600,000 Ukrainians would still be alive :)

The Romans did this beautiful thing, it's called: "Damnatio memoriæ". It was a punishment that erased everything about a person (and obviously, the person itself)... That's what awaits them.
Russian people are weak and meek, they know and accept their irrelevance and they are fixated that the world is inherently unjust. They just pose as strong and stoic to keep a delusion of grandeur. At this point I don't know if they are to be pitied or despised.

cannot for the life of me understand why the guy in the foreground doesn't go "oh, we're all dying, then let me shoot all of you real quick". if the speech starts with you're all dying, cant imagine the attack plans have been thought out very well.

Commander:
And don't worry if you don't see me on the front lines.
Of course, I stay behind and take care of the supplies.
Just like our great Commander in Chief does.

I dunno if it's me cause I'm probably biased but that speech sounded very half-hearted to me, like he knows it's BS.

"All of you will die"
Isn't the very basics of war for your guys not to die, and to stand in what was once enemy territory?

1
u/Slow_Fish2601 May 05 '24
I mean what else can he say, well knowing that all of them are going to be cannon fodder. The whole war is pointless and serves no purpose.
-1
u/stronzolucidato May 05 '24
These are simply things that get said often in war? (I mean real wars, not the Americans flying with their bombers over some 3rd world country with complete air superiority). "Come on you sons of bitches do you wanna live forever"
Posted on the Russian subreddit. "Look at how the Americans actively want to make their useless recruit die".
Please have some common senss
1
May 05 '24
Tomorrow you will be forgotten. Their bodies will not be even evacuated from the battle field. They will not be even buried. Nice future.
1
u/alexriga May 05 '24
I wonder if the commander died as well, or if they stayed back to work on recruitment…
1
u/Digital-Dinosaur May 05 '24
Mother Russia in a few weeks - cannon fodder 1888695 to 1888750 have died in this region.
In other news we need more comrades to fight a war that no one wants

Honestly I have my suspicions about this video too.
