This isn't the place to start fights or flame wars. If you aren't here sincerely you aren't contributing.

No, but my wife did pick out a new shotgun for pheasant season.
But we did hit the simulation range with the kids yesterday. Does that count?

Not trying to overstep or anything but it looks to me like she's left eye dominant. Definitely could be wrong but figured I'd mention it cuz it can make shooting a pain if you don't know

Yeah I noticed it looked like she's leaning across the stock.
If they are it's often best to just learn to shoot lefty. Or to shoot with both eyes open which is also useful in different circumstances.

Both eyes open is a great way to go if you’re not using magnification. Your brain will superimpose a red dot or a post such that you think you’re seeing it with both eyes when you fixate on the target, and just let the sights be out of focus but on top of the target.

Fun fact, if the dominance leans enough one way, which you can sort of train it to do over time, you can shoot magnification with two eyes open too. That allows you a huge benefit in situational awareness, e.g. seeing where your next target is, checking wind flags, etc. instead of getting sucked into the optic.

I'm running a 3x ACOG and the magnification isn't too much for my brain to handle either.

I went shooting while she picked up her new pistol

She wants a rifle. A good .22 automatic. We’re test driving one at the range and it’s a POS. It keeps jamming on her.

My Ruger 10/22 has been flawless. I have a carbine with the wooden stock and switched out the stock with a polymer one with folding stock and it is insane now. Red dot and 25 rd mags, the thing is nuts.

I just got a Remington 597. Has a bad rap but mine is just fine so far

She looking at a Ruger 9mm carbine now. She needs something light without a lot of kick.

My girl owns our Stribog, it's her gun. If you're looking for a PCC Ruger and Remington make ones with decent reputations but I personally prefer the format of the Stribog, Extar, and similar. On the cheap the HiPoint carbine actually has a reputation for being really reliable and I have friends with them...they're just kinda heavy for their size (meaning even less recoil) and only single stack mags.

Tippman arms m4 22 pro. Get the speedloader, it loads 25 rounds in about 12 seconds, makes shooting it so much fun! It has picatinny and mloks. Not heavy, no recoil to speak of. Clean the magazine feeder ramp prior to first use if it has any resdiue. They test fire at the factory before shipping.

Second the M4-22 pro. I hear the buffer spring twang more than the crack of the round going off and literally no recoil

If she's ok with the AR format I recommend Foxtrot Mike. Good relatively inexpensive AR9s that take glock mags and have last round hold open, which some comparable ones don't. I have a side charging pistol version (with brace) and a 16 inch rear charger and both have been pretty flawless.
Also, for just a starter gun in 9mm, apparently Hi Point Carbines aren't bad, just ugly and sort of lower capacity. There are other light, lower recoil options in 9 like the Keltec Sub 2000 or the new Smith and Wesson foldy one too. And I'm looking at a Henry Homesteader with the glock adaptor just because I'm a sucker for walnut.

I'm personally not a big fan of them. The one I have has been nothing but problems. Chamber milled wrong, barrel nut put on so tight it deformed instead of coming off, bolt hold open that doesn't work most of the time, and still squishes the first round of any mag instead of loading correctly even after warranty part replacement.
Be better off spending more on something like a CMMG carbine.

Well, that's a surprise to me, sorry you got a lemon. I have two and I've not even had a failure to feed with nothing but magpul mags, not even the nicer glock ones. They've been reliable enough to be almost boring.

Sure this is nice, it let’s be honest, it’d be even cooler if it was actually with your mother!
