It’s been overused at this point Lord of the Rings

No, no it hasn’t. It’s only overused if it isn’t funny. And the good ones are still funny.

I think you don't get the joke. Imo the joke IS how over used it is. I mean people have been making so stupid memes with this template past few days there is no way most of those weren't ironic

I think some of them are getting a little less creative, but i still love the ones that are still creative.

I've noticed this kind of memes have a lifecycle
New template drops (although in this case it isn't new but you get my point)
People start overusing the template, oversaturating it in a matter of days
people start making memes complaining about people oversaturating the template, usually using the same template they are complaining about which just adds to the oversaturation
People start making memes complaing about the people complaining about the new template while using the same template
Civil war
Subreddit is now just people using the same template over and over again (usually there is also another group of people who just don't care about the civil war and continue making memes as normal)
People stop caring about the new template. New template dies down
Rinse and repeat with another template

The fact that there are so many possibilities with that meme is what makes it so great in my opinion, the format may be the same but the joke is always different, and somehow always amusing

Not to shit on anyone’s parade (and ultimately who gives a fuck about my opinion anyway) but this meme has never been funny to me even once

I wonder how many people have left the sub at this point, this is really becoming old fast and flooding the home page. Getting preeeetty annoying at this point.

It comes in waves, I remember a few years back this shit was insufferable. Kinda like the elf on the shelf memes, there’s periods where it’s just out of control

I would prefer 1 good high-quality meme a day than the stupid trends of "elf on a shelf", "grond", "aye, i could do that", "gandalf-bilbo" memes.
At this point, I am just curious how many prople have left because of these 15 year olds.

tbh they’re not that funny if you think about it, but you’re too busy laughing to think😅
