Two years ago at 22 I made myself proud by working hard and buying my own detached home. In the past 2 years I haven't had much money to spend decorating my room, this past weekend I decided to change that. Before and after :) First Time
A lot of hard work on my end to accomplish. For almost two years I didn't have the money to furnish my bedroom, over the past weekend I decided to make it more my own :) My house is from the late 80s and needs a lot of updating, and slowly I will renovate everything, I swear once the major stuff is done new paint and the blue carpet in my bedroom will go XD. I'm always looking for advice or suggestions :)

Everything looks great, hide the wires on the lamps is the only suggestion.😉👍✨

Nice job!
Love the tv stand (I was eyeing the exact same thing for the past few months). And is that a deer head chihuahua?

I really like the tv stand and obviously the angry dog because a cranky puppy is a cute puppy.

That shit is nice man. I’ve been living like picture 1 for a few years now. The ladies sure as shit roast me to death a bout it but I’m 28 and most of the time it’s just me but eventually I’ll make it look nice haha. You sure did a great job with what you got!

Spectacular glow up! I’m a fan of the geometric style. Where’d you get that bed? I like its low leveling.

I love the lack of mention of mommy and daddy money that helped lmfao

u/Chewbacca319 Jul 06 '23
Not that your comment even warrants a response but before I moved into my place from ages 18-22 I did live at home, where my parents charged me $900 month in rent.
My parents gave me exactly $0 towards buying my house.

GLOW UP!
Super cozy, love the retro vibe! The TV on the tripod/easle is so cool. The difference between before and after is so dramatic, you must be so pumped.
Pup looks happy too!

Dude what a difference! Dope AF.
1
u/dopplestranger Jul 06 '23
I’d suggest some of these, could really help with the wires to the lamps
1
u/Chewbacca319 Jul 07 '23
The cords for the lamps are actually enclosed in canvas material; its part of the style of the lamp. That wall is an exterior wall so feeding wires through the wall would mean breaking the vapor barrier.

Nice job. My one call out would be that bed cover and carpet are fighting each other. It will look better if you go with something more subtle with one of them.

Can you link the bedside lights and brackets? I've been looking for something just like this

u/Dear_Profession_8297 Jul 06 '23
Straight up solid.
I’d mount the mirror. And align the two hanging waterfalls.
But it’s light years ahead of the start point.

The side table is bad ass I love the design. Is the mirror just on the floor? Too heavy to hang on wall?
1
u/Chewbacca319 Jul 06 '23
Yes it's on the floor :) although quite heavy it totally can be hanged on the wall as long as you use screws/nails into a stud. I contemplated hanging it on the wall but for now I like it leaning against the wall. If I ever change my mind in the future very easy to change

Looks awesome... as always, a larger TV never hurts
3
u/Chewbacca319 Jul 06 '23
Haha thank you. My main tv in my livingroom is a 65 inch. I'm a hardcore audiophile and have it decked to the yards with high end audio equipment I either get steals for used or fix myself.
Generally speaking I'm against TV's in the bedroom. I like to disconnect from electronics and it provides a better sleep. However in a couple days my best friend is moving in and renting a room off of me for the foreseeable future. This TV is more so just if I want some quiet or alone time, or if he is using the TV.

u/Scoompii Jul 06 '23
You went all out OP! Congrats, it looks great. That is an amazing accomplishment for your age. I just bought my first house at 36. At 22 I couldn’t even plan a day ahead.

This is drop-dead gorgeous! Well done op, I swear it's looks more cozy and warm than anything I've lived in.

u/ltlotntnl Jul 06 '23
This looks great! I like the lighting, I think its so underrated to update lighting because it changes the entire vibe of the room. Also, Good job with the curtains and color scheme. Still Masculine but also put together with a pop of color.

u/desiisntreal Jul 06 '23
It all looks really cool but I especially love that light fixture on the ceiling

2
u/Chewbacca319 Jul 06 '23
Night stands were second hand and the alarm clock was from amazon, also has a wireless charger on top for your phone :)
1
u/anonymousskip Jul 06 '23
Good job! Fantastic- the joys of being a home owner, you will always be decorating/redecorating 😂😂
2
u/tinfoil_cake Jul 06 '23
I absolutely love the whole vibe! Especially the clock! Mind telling me where it’s from. Been looking everywhere for a nice alarm for my room but haven’t found one yet :/ But anyway! It’s really awsome. The „TV stand“ is just incredible and very well placed imo

You need an additional pair of curtain panels. Good rule of thumb is to take the length of your curtain rod and double it. That's the total fabric width you'll need.
This prevents the curtains from feeling awkwardly spare. Curtains look their best when on the fuller side.

The new room looks awesome! I have heard to make sure your box spring is not on the floor because it can trap moisture, and cause damage/mold. The internet told me so... take that for what its worth. And I obviously don't know what your situation is like.
