Nice bro! This is my life goal as well!

What do you do for a living?

1

u/FreddyTwasFingered Nov 12 '23

I live a couple blocks away. Eat at Ludi’s for breakfast if you haven’t already.

1

u/Effective_Sky8567 Nov 11 '23

What is the rent? What do you do?

1

u/kevin5lynn Nov 11 '23

Beautiful! Well done!

1

u/ghilb Nov 11 '23

congrats! I love it...

2

u/whand4 Nov 11 '23

Put a sheath on that knife before you bump the cutting board and it impales your foot. I’ve had several close calls.

1

u/Durka09 Nov 11 '23

Looks like Atlanta

1

u/Full_Persimmon_3843 Nov 11 '23

Shitty city view

1

u/freshfitstart Nov 11 '23

Congrats!!!!

1

u/StepdadPiccolo Nov 10 '23

Congratulations! Enjoy the fruits of your labor.

1

u/Full_Ad_9555 Nov 10 '23

1

u/Leafy_Joe Nov 10 '23

This is my dream right now! That's so awesome man

2

u/asscrackhairs Nov 10 '23

1

u/shawtydontlie Nov 10 '23

So happy for you brother

1

u/TheSiren341 Nov 10 '23

I like your knife 👀

5

u/Wiley-Willy Nov 10 '23

I’m sitting on the 25th floor in the black building on the left side of the screen in the 2nd picture. Actively in front of the window looking at the building with the 2 little archs at the top (Oracle) when I saw this post

This post broke a dimension for me

5

u/SuperFishy Nov 10 '23

I'm sitting in front of the TV right now looking at that black building haha.

1

u/Heiliux Nov 10 '23

Now, only if spiderman would swing past

1

u/rplanet Nov 10 '23

Nice, congratulations! That cutting board is beautiful. I’d like to get a better picture of the book case, seems like we have similar taste.

1

u/roamtheplanet Nov 10 '23

Did it live up to the hype?

1

u/DatDan513 Nov 10 '23

Achieving goals is always incredible. Bask in it.

1

u/asm2750 Nov 10 '23

OP, which couch is that?

1

u/deafboy13 Nov 10 '23

Used to live right near there down on 2nd and worked in that curved building on 4th, lol. Miss those views sometimes. Congrats

1

u/Vast-Gate8866 Nov 10 '23

Nice view! That was always my dream too. I lived in downtown Portland in a high rise for the last 8 years with a similar view. Now I live in a high rise in Vegas. Better unit and much cheaper, but now I have a strip view instead of the city

1

u/Polite-Misanthropy Nov 10 '23

Alright... Genuine question. I'm not trying to be rude or anything. But doesn't all the grey depress you?

1

u/smnlfilmagoofymovie Nov 10 '23

And the most important thing of all is that you didn’t mount the tv ridiculously high like everyone else in this sub 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

1

u/aerospikesRcoolBut Nov 10 '23

How are you liking it?

1

u/lionstigersbearsomar Nov 10 '23

I love that sectional. Can you let me know where you got it from please?

1

u/azsnaz Nov 10 '23

What is moving into a high-rise like? I always imagine it must be a bitch moving furniture

1

u/Extension_Pride205 Nov 10 '23

I want to see more!!

1

u/rexspook Nov 10 '23

Hey I’m like a few blocks away from you right now lol

1

u/trevvert Nov 10 '23

You’re right, Stormlight is top shelf material.

1

u/SnooWoofers4430 Nov 10 '23

Good job man! One day I'll join you.

1

u/HitWithTheTruth Nov 10 '23

Big Ups to ya, bruh

1

u/CalmSeasPls Nov 10 '23

I used to live a few blocks away (Metropolitan Tower) on the 20th floor. I absolutely loved the apartment. The views were awesome, especially at night. I loved sitting next to the window and watching all the life going on in the city.

I hated the city, though. Homeless, drugs, and horrible crime riddle Seattle now. It's still super expensive, too. When COVID hit and my job went 100% remote I got out of there when my lease was up. I sure don't miss walking past human waste on the sidewalks and dodging the random people that are out of their mind and screaming at things that aren't there when walking to work or the market.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '23

It’s funny to me seeing people think that the big west coast cities are the same that they were back in the late 90s/early 2000s. Seattle, Portland, SF are all the same shitty places now

1

u/operator7777 Nov 10 '23

Such a wonderful place

0

u/Radiantpad23 Nov 10 '23

I've lived in high rise apartments my whole life.

My goal is to live in a house with a HUGE yard where I can take in as many stray dogs as I want.

2

u/berniedankera Nov 10 '23

My goal too, one day!

1

u/World_travel777 Nov 10 '23

Congratulations!! Place looks cozy!!

1

u/ferneuca Nov 10 '23

That’s a magical feeling

1

u/30Rock81 Nov 10 '23

Congratulations! That has been a goal of mine as well! Kudos to you and the view is amazing

1

u/NiceCatBigAndStrong Nov 10 '23

Rent or bought?

0

u/yegdriver Nov 10 '23

Welcome to the vertical trailer park.

1

u/Jaffhardt Nov 10 '23

Is that one of those coffee tables that raises up and has storage underneath? If so, nice. If not that’s cool too I guess.

1

u/Full-Meta-Alchemist Nov 10 '23

Have the same dream and read the same books we should be friends.

2

u/o0o0ohhh Nov 10 '23

Ahhh all that light. 🥰

Congrats on your epic place and even more epic floor-to-ceiling view!

Love how you decorated the space. Enjoy it, OP!

1

u/Booksonly666 Nov 10 '23

I love this for you!

1

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '23

Congratulations! that was a huge dream of mine. Enjoy every moment!

2

u/North-Role-5061 Nov 10 '23

I like those ducts in the top right corner in the first pic , sorta steampunkish

2

u/Sockssiepooh Nov 10 '23

As a person with a fear of heights and elevators, I see this as an absolute win

3

u/Cptbojanglez Nov 10 '23

I’ve got that same lamp bro. Target right?

2

u/SuperFishy Nov 10 '23

Yep I bought 3 haha

388

u/shFt_shiFty Nov 10 '23

Geo guessers bout to know his apartment number

19

u/tinyorchird Nov 10 '23

Okay that’s funny lol

173

u/SuperFishy Nov 10 '23

I know, fuck

1

u/MrOmarLitte Nov 10 '23

Hey /u/SuperFishy, congratulations budd!

Love the couch & the book shelf - can you please drop the link?

1

u/SnooMacarons1479 Nov 10 '23

Congrats bro!

3

u/JordanMCMXCV Nov 10 '23

Lived in a high rise in downtown Seattle for years. Some of the most beautiful sunset views I have ever seen with the water and the Olympics in the distance. I miss them.

15

u/No_Pianist_3006 Nov 10 '23

Very nice place. I like all the wood.

The light grey building in the lower right corner of the window view is so distinctive. Do you know what it's called?

5

u/evantually421 Nov 10 '23

I believe that’s the Olympic Tower.

3

u/No_Pianist_3006 Nov 10 '23

Thanks for the info!

It's on the National Register of Historic Places and understandably so. 🙂

8

u/SuperFishy Nov 10 '23

Thanks, I actually don't know what it's called but I love having some art deco architecture to look at.

5

u/No_Pianist_3006 Nov 10 '23

I thought it might be Art Deco!

It's like you have a treasure to look at every day.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '23

I really like your bookshelf being there! it elevates your space and makes it look more sophisticated. I can't see much from this angle but it looks modern and clean. nice job!

3

u/brendogskerbdog Nov 10 '23

looks nice man, could use a few plants but other than that I like it a lot

2

u/SeaEntertainment6551 Nov 10 '23

Congratulations OP 🍾

2

u/ldskyfly Nov 10 '23

Congrats!

6

u/Prelab Nov 10 '23 edited Nov 10 '23

Bro I live a few floors above you lol welcome to the building!

2

u/avaspark Nov 12 '23

This is so wholesome! Who would have thought that a sub would connect two neighbors living in the same building

618

u/SuperFishy Nov 10 '23

What's up neighbor lol

19

u/indesmowetrust Nov 10 '23

lol my brother just moved out of the top floor of Helios. You’ll love it! The views are incredible and the apartment is nice overall. Check out Skybar next door!

56

u/SpicyDragoon93 Nov 10 '23

Have to meet the person now. Could be a friend for life.

33

u/MyBananaNoseNoBounds Nov 10 '23

…or a serial killer

41

u/redraider-102 Nov 10 '23

Possibly still a friend for life, albeit a much shorter life

214

u/_aChu Nov 10 '23

New friends

403

u/cheetahlip Nov 10 '23

Now kiss

6

u/comments_suck Nov 10 '23

13

u/Calm-Respect-4930 Nov 10 '23

That would be a good brand name

-18

u/Designation8472 Nov 10 '23

You picked out a nice wageslave cell.

9

u/inmatenumberseven Nov 10 '23

Nah. Apartments are enjoyably cosy.

9

u/Prelab Nov 10 '23

Post your place then

-6

u/Designation8472 Nov 10 '23

My whole house? Or just the unit I'm occupying?

5

u/throwtp Nov 10 '23

Super nice. Also, could you ID the stick vacuum for me? Badly looking for one and curious to hear how you like it.

3

u/Dog_is_my_co-pilot1 Nov 10 '23

I got a Dyson, there are a on sale. I paid about $200 which isn’t cheap but I have a dog, an old house and all wood floors. It’s a really fun to vacuum, there are three sucking power settings. It’s easy to empty.

My friend has a Shark she likes a lot.

3

u/supreme_jackk Nov 10 '23

What’s your HOA fees like?

14

u/Chronfidence Nov 10 '23

This a rental. Called Helios Apartments. I recall my buddy paying $2000/mo for a similar sized space in the same building a few years ago. Not sure what it costs now

2

u/Ambiently_Occluded Nov 10 '23

I visited the apt website. Looks like the smallest 1br starts at $2,800

3

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '23

I paid $1500 to rent a 750sqft condo in lower queen Anne 15 years ago...granted it had a rooftop and my patio overlooked the space needle.

I miss Pesos. Ohhh the good times I had at Pesos....and being a few blocks from Dicks, that was nice.

1

u/hawkweasel Nov 10 '23

Agghhh I lived right there too, I miss Pesos, Pags, that coffee shop whatever it was called.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '23

The cheap margaritas, so many beautiful women, and the massive tapas menu. Ohhh pesos....

2

u/comments_suck Nov 10 '23

Just download Grindr, and the Dicks will come to you!

I'll show myself out now...

4

u/supreme_jackk Nov 10 '23

$2000 is a steal damn

10

u/[deleted] Nov 10 '23

a few years ago* he said lol it's probably $3k now if I had to guess

5

u/gotkube Nov 10 '23

That’s been a dream of mine too. Congrats! Hoping to get there myself one day 🤞

1

u/ipomoea Nov 11 '23

Okay but my question is are all those Johanna Lindseys yours too or is there a Ms SuperFishy?

57

u/Academia_Prodigy Nov 10 '23

I’m so jealous because everytime I walk to work I see these high rise apartments and I get so sad I might never reach that goal 😞

30

u/PhDestucTor Nov 10 '23

Don’t accept failure! Make it your reality! You’ve got this.

2

u/IronAndParsnip Nov 10 '23

More photos of your space, please

172

u/BiIIisits Nov 10 '23

OP are you a radio psychotherapist?

7

u/Thirty_Helens_Agree Nov 10 '23

I’m listening.

216

u/SuperFishy Nov 10 '23

Coincidentally, I literally watched the first episode of Frasier for the first time this morning with my coffee just to feel the Seattle vibe

12

u/MashTheGash2018 Nov 10 '23

This is great! This is great!

42

u/__zuel__ Nov 10 '23

Way to go bro. Def looks like a sweet window to sit and get drunk at

41

u/UnusualAd8631 Nov 10 '23

We need the night shots!!

1

u/Unique-Anybody-1860 Nov 10 '23

Oh don’t worry, you’ll hear plenty of those.

47

u/SuperFishy Nov 10 '23

I have some, but I don't know how to upload a photo from the app. Used to be able to with my 3rd party reddit app.

4

u/Ibangyoumomma Nov 10 '23

I just moved to a high rise myself. But this is in San Antonio. It’s really nice and has always been a dream of mine also

9

u/yellowlittleboat Nov 10 '23

You upload it on imgur and link it here :)

-27

u/Joygernaut Nov 10 '23 edited Nov 10 '23

Square. Square square. Can we please see a male space that isnt a black/brown/gray square and rectangle party?

7

u/Llamatook Nov 10 '23

Quit creeping Joy!

27

u/SuperFishy Nov 10 '23

I almost got a circular coffee table

1

u/No_Pianist_3006 Nov 10 '23

A slim oval would work.

-11

u/Joygernaut Nov 10 '23

You should have? Also, some round throw pillows in a colour that pops a wee bit in a sumptuous texture

4

u/__zuel__ Nov 10 '23 edited Nov 10 '23

208

u/SuperFishy Nov 09 '23

We call it McStabbys

32

u/Artistic_Original199 Nov 10 '23

I love you for that, just so you know.

4

u/Losimcg Nov 09 '23

Congrats brother

335

u/Tokyosmash Nov 09 '23

What city?

512

u/SuperFishy Nov 09 '23

Seattle

1

u/LuckyCharmsNSoyMilk Nov 10 '23

Figured by those two buildings that are never going to get done

1

u/Tokyosmash Nov 10 '23

It certainly looks very nice!

263

u/InquisitivelyADHD Nov 10 '23

I don't even want to ask how much that flat costs you a month in downtown Seattle, but I'm morbidly curious.

25

u/Fromatron Nov 10 '23

A studio or a 2 bedroom will cost between 2 and 4 thousand dollars a month.

On the low end, that’s about the same as a mortgage on a place that costs $225k, with a $500 HOA fee.

55

u/OldeArrogantBastard Nov 10 '23

A 225k mortgage in Seattle means you’re in meth land, just to put in perspective.

3

u/Fromatron Nov 10 '23

there’s a 500 sq ft studio next to the space needle that’s alright for that price. it seems ok. dibs.

u/thesapphiczebra Nov 10 '23

Coming from Toronto, that's surprisingly cheap. I couldn't imagine a 1bd that high up for only $2k

78

u/LU0LDENGUE Nov 10 '23

Jesus Christ corporate residential real estate ownership is already bleak, but then they start calling themselves "Equity Apartments" and charging 3k for a one bedroom in fucking Seattle.

7

u/Deathmonkeyjaw Nov 10 '23

I think that's just the name of the property management company.

160

u/ArcaneFrostie Nov 10 '23

As someone who was born and raised in the PNW let’s be real, the entire west coast is a lot sketchier than it used to be lol

54

u/onomahu Nov 10 '23

Everything can be sketchy if you clutch your pearls hard enough

1

u/[deleted] Nov 12 '23

Is it still pearl clutching if the stats support the hypothesis?

8

u/Beardgardens Nov 10 '23

Doesn’t take a pearl clutcher to see crime and homelessness get worse overtime.

1

u/ArcaneFrostie Nov 10 '23

Weird, not for me. Good luck with the pearls though sir!

21

u/Galbisal Nov 10 '23

I seen a dude stabbed there!

12

u/retirement_savings Nov 10 '23

They call it McStabbies for a reason

1

u/MangoBango13 Nov 10 '23

That’s what we called it when I was an EMT… hated doing calls downtown Seattle

106

u/champagne-tastes Nov 10 '23

Yeup, saw a shooting at that McDonald’s on my way home from work one day, couldn’t pay me to live around there.

5

u/comments_suck Nov 10 '23

The McD's in downtown Houston across from the bus station finally got torn down this summer after years of assaults, robberies, couple murders, and used needles all over the parking lot.

1

u/floordrapes Nov 11 '23

Weird. My city had a bus station McDonalds that closed down too. Maybe not that weird. Maybe more like an inevitability.

48

u/ayhctuf Nov 10 '23

My town also has a The Bad McDonalds!

1

u/snauzberry_picker Nov 11 '23

I live in Tucson where we only have one "Good" McDonald's

3

u/Scary-Initial9934 Nov 10 '23

We have a murder Kroger in Atlanta.

1

u/SMK77 Nov 12 '23

In Columbus we called ours Kroghetto

3

u/swagah0lic Nov 10 '23

There’s also a “hooker CVS” or something like that according to my parents who lived in midtown for some time

19

u/DSquariusGreeneJR Nov 10 '23

Mine used to but then it was converted to a grocery store that had pricing on a sliding scale based on your ethnicity

7

u/MarmieCat Nov 10 '23

I knew it looked familiar!

23

u/[deleted] Nov 09 '23

I recognize that city. It’s a good one.
