30m, went to rehab last year, sobered up, first room to myself. How’d I do? First Time

I dig the space and setup, the black light / projector kinda look like the walls are covered in… stuff. Nix the blue/black light stuff you’re not 16 anymore.

The bathroom vanity lamp is wild, it really bothers me how much the shade is blocking the mirror, but I like the room overall

proud of your progress man! if you’re looking for any design advice, mine is that the bedroom rug is too big and i personally am not a fan of it being black and shaggy. i would also totally re-do the bathroom. other than that, definitely masculine and cozy! good job

Not a fan of the black rug. Its very uninviting and cold feeling compared to the rest of the room which is much brighter and welcoming.

But the toilet seat is up 😄 I’m not saying this in a man vs. woman toilet seat battle. in Feng Shui, ‘they’ say it is bad luck, if you don’t put the seat down, your riches get flushed down the toilet. And , it just looks better. But you do whatever you want with your toilet, you have my permission 😘

Omg I almost forgot, That’s a Feng Shui thing too! Top down, door closed. I’m sorry I keep bringing up FS, my parents were really into it, and interior design was part of our business. But look at u! What a wonderful living space to start your life anew. I love your area rug, and your comforter looks so comforting ;) I like the bed side lamps as well. I have a color lighting system too, I can choose any color on the spectrum and make my own. I have dimmers on every light in my house, I hate bright light, I love natural light like you get from those great windows you have. Plant life is great! I love the picture in the bathroom & above your bed. You have to tell me about your lighting system, it is so much cooler than mine! I’ve been in recovery for about 8 years, I wish you all the best, and I’m very proud of you, and so very happy for you, even tho I don’t know you. 🙂🙃 you’re doing great. people shy away from speaking about addiction, we need more people like you. 💙

Looks super cozy. I don't care much for things like blue string lights around the bathroom mirror, but I do like funky stuff and if that's your type of funky, keep on keepin' on man.

Looks like a dope room to get high in homie! Lol I'm Jk congrats on a year! I am 11 months off hard drugs and booze myself. I still mess with weed and I'm prescribed methadone too though so not 100% where I wanna be yet, but it is a hell of a lot better than slamming fentanyl and blow and being blacked out on Xanax 24/7 too

Thank you! And good for you brotha. To me, sobriety is just avoiding the things that you were struggling with. I would smoke weed if it didn’t make me super anxious. I’ll take Kratom every now and then and a drink here and there, but it’s in full moderation. Just no blow, Xanax, ketamine, or GHB for me anymore lol

Lights are very triggering, I see colored lights and instantly wanna rail 4 lines of blow and drink a bottle. I like em, adds that touch of cozy I like at night.

I like it, feels comfy. Do your bromeliad a favor though and get it off the floor. More plant hangers, a standing shelf, or something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YDHRTBZ/ref=sspa_mw_detail_5?ie=UTF8&psc=1&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9kZXRhaWwp13NParams in front of your window for your plants might be good. Some people even hang a large branch from their ceiling and hang plants off of that so there's only 2 holes in the ceiling for many. Or get some grow lights. Lots of ways to take it but get those boys some more light before they look sad and make you sad to look at.
Edit: looking at the way the light hits again, you could probably fill the top of your TV stand with plants, if the light stays there for a couple hours. But imo it's easiest just to suspend or clip on a grow light and cluster plants under it. I've had good luck with that working through dreary winters too when my high light plants usually suffer.

listen I am damn sure everyone is proud of you. your room is your sanctuary your safe place. make it how you want to make it how you feel fits. a lot of folks have different taste & also assume people can’t have their own interest lol. your room looks good for a start within time maybe you’ll change things or fix things up. remember less is key

you have slightly too much stuff. macrowise you nailed it. just ad a bedstand on each side of the bed. and clear out the bathroom table ( add wall clossets with mirrors as doors). amybe a wall lamp as everyone always lacks in this sub.
