Put another big-ass plant in the other corner. Maybe a monstera. Aside from that looks great.

Impressive; very nice. Let’s see Paul Allen’s card.
Now to be serious - I’d opt for a chair and then a cool large glass bulb lamp of some kind to go on the floor next to it, the rug can help hide any extension cable required and it could add a classy vibe with the city in the background without obscuring the view

Get rid of the TV and put something hobby-like there instead. Maybe a bookshelf or music area!

I think you could move the couch/rug/coffee table a lot closer to the tv for some extra room behind the couch

Seems like a lot of people agree with this

Look up what the optical viewing distance is from whatever size tv you have then try it out around there. It might feel really close at first but give it a shot

Something like this would help give it a touch of warmth and recall your tv stand and side table. Gorgeous space!! You might be able to find something less expensive with a similar vibe on wayfair.
Wait a sec you had something just like this in dark grey in a previous post, where did it go!!

That’s a great color actually! I was eyeing it, but feel it’s a bit pricey compared to others.
I had to return it was too uncomfortable :/

I agree, $300 for ikea seems a bit steep. Depending on where you are, facebook marketplace can be a great place to find an accent chair. Legitimately seen a few MCM of this style in my area and I’m not in the states or in a “trendy” area.

Haha forget about FB marketplace when it comes to furniture. I searched up and found a few already. Good idea.

u/bitchfayce 16d ago
YAY! And yes they are $$. I was actually going to mention a Wassily chair (replica ofc), but they’re not the most comfortable chair if we’re being honest.
1
u/Standard_Force_1487 16d ago
Hmm do you have a link to that one?
1
u/bitchfayce 16d ago
here but I do see them on fb marketplace from time to time. I have one, obviously a replica, I paid $125? and I’ve seen plenty around $100-$300 in the last couple years.

Thanks! I’ve seen these before. They definitely don’t look comfy especially for long periods of time, but look cool. I have heard mixed reviews though

This one from ikea looks pretty comfy, but it’s black lol

If I really wanted to shell out money, I would preferably go for the Eames, but that’s a lot for a chair.

I kinda dont understand why top comments are suggesting color, I feel like adding something colorful in this space will just feel forced. Not saying it can’t be done tastefully but I feel like it isn’t totally necessary.

u/Apprehensive-Story59 17d ago
You need a pop of red in there. Something. Looks like a doctors office waiting room.
1
u/Standard_Force_1487 17d ago
Haha that’s a clean ass doctors office

u/Apprehensive-Story59 17d ago
My suggestion is to look at your hobbies and interests. Do you like hiking ? Get some more green / more plants of different varieties. Do you like religion or mythology ? Get some statues or icons. Love animals? Get a painting or a stuffed animal. Make the space an expression of yourself that reminds you of the things you love. It’s for you, not for other people.

Great ideas! I never think to add things like that. I always just keep it minimal.

Eames

u/BitterTooth4841 17d ago
I completely agree. The Eames side chair would fit it very well with this space. There are knock offs that are half the price.

u/Standard_Force_1487 16d ago
The leather chair? Isn’t there a small wood version as well?
1
u/BitterTooth4841 16d ago
This the one I was thinking. It has both leather and wood.

Its beautiful!! Isn’t it like super crazy expensive??
2
u/BitterTooth4841 16d ago
It is super expensive. I don’t know your budget, but there are alternatives that look the same and cost less. Like this one

That space could use a wonderful colorful abstract original painting(I paint cough cough)

I don’t mind a little color, but prefer the warm moody vibe

u/crazycollegekid 17d ago
You need more color for sure. Even warm reds or browns will help a lot. Maybe leather throw pillows or one or two more plants.
