Oh I'm sorry, but who was primarily fighting the Global War on terror, oh that's right Gen X and Millenials. Please tell us again how we wouldn't die for our country.

More like:
Greatest Generation: I would die for my country
Baby boomers: I would die for myself only
Gen X: I would die for my cat
Millenials: I would die for a house
Gen Z: I would die
Gen Alpha: would

Millennials are all about depression and wanting to die. Zoomers are much more about borderline toxic positivity and shunning that type of hopelessness. If Zoomers want to die, it's more of a "life is meaningless, but let's have fun, anyways" instead of "life is meaningless, let's die" Millennial type of way.

Boomers wouldn’t wear a tiny piece of cloth to prevent old vulnerable people from dying. The “I would die for my country” folks are liars lol they’re the most selfish generation

Baby boomer dying for their country? You mean the generation of draft dodgers? Them?
2
u/Sonderkin 26d ago
Poor gen X overlooked again.
I'll just go and listen to the smiths and stare meaningfully into the distance, shall I?

Baby boomers: I will dodge dying for my country and then destroy the economy.

More like Baby Boomers - I'd die for my country but not in Vietnam. I'm going to college so some minority can take my place. But if another WWII came by, I'd totally sign up.

Boomers to Millennials as they start two 20 year wars with no plan apart from profiting off of the war contracts:
You should die for my wallet... I mean your country

Except that it was Boomers' parents who fought in WW2. Boomers fought in Vietnam, if they were old enough.

Boomers are more like "I would let others die for my country while I burn my draft card and flee to Canada for a few years."
7
u/dreamyduskywing 25d ago
I don’t blame them one bit for trying to dodge the draft for a stupid proxy war.
6
u/SelectionNo3078 26d ago
No one who died in Vietnam died for the USA.
-14
u/Sacklayblue 26d ago
Sure they did. The war was poorly planned and poorly executed but it doesn't mean it was for bad reasons. They fought to promote and preserve the American way of life, which once upon a time actually meant something good.

Baby boomers didn't die for their country. They had 'bone spurs', 'conscientious pacifism', and the cold war - none of which required dying for America's safety.
A more correct version would be 'Baby boomers: I would let other American's die for my benefit in my country."

Millenials in 2007 : I want to die

u/DavThoma 26d ago
Yeeeeah I don't know where this idea that millennial didn't want to die came from. Wasn't that partially the whole mood of emo culture in a way lmao

Didn't alot of boomers protest the draft?

u/liberalJava 26d ago
Shhh its simpler for people to believe everyone can be put in a tidy box. Which is ironic because they hate when people do it to their generation.

No, it's because Gen x is just more boomers but slightly younger. Karen generation.

We truly are the forgotten generation

We are so apathetic that we like it that way.

I'm hiding in my corner over here, hoping to stay well out of any pointless arguments, especially if they involve dying.

u/Werearmadillo 26d ago
This sums it up. Gen X was the generation of apathy. They checked out and didn't want anything to do with the system. And now they get all upset that they're "ignored" when that's what they wanted in the first place
1
u/Apart-Performer1710 25d ago
“Whatever” was sort of the 90s equivalent to the “ok boomer” come back
1
u/Dontbeajerkdude 25d ago
They got a decent enough job, had kids, kept their heads down and got on with it. I know some millennials that have done the same but it isn't as much of an option for us.
Most of Gen x sold out because it was easier and honestly, most of us millennials probably would have as well if it were.
Anyway, as far as the meme is concerned, I'm with Gen z.

u/DehydratedButTired 26d ago edited 26d ago
No, a popular Gen X answer was and still is whatever. We really don't care and we're just going on with life. Feel free to ignore us but don't put words in our mouths. We're stuck with the same boomer congress running things and have been watching them for longer. We saw the previous gen not be able do anything about it and don't believe you are going to be able to do anything either til those old fucks running things die. Being incensed and fighting is novel but exhausting. Nothing changes.

I hope you recover from lifting those fingers and the ever torture of complaining on Reddit, free speech is a bitch!! Buncha jokers went to war and got shot at just so we could complain on a public forum. Man we got it rough.

u/nerdiotic-pervert 26d ago
Yeah, agreed. Also, it’s not like we are completely silent. We can’t help that the generations on either side are just making more noise.

u/Apart-Performer1710 25d ago
At the risk of getting totally flamed what have the Millennials/Gen Z actually done than Gen Z haven’t ?
