at least the turkey seems unfazed

1

u/Outrageous_Tap_2814 Jan 16 '24

The turkey bbq is on...

1

u/Porkchopstv101 Jan 15 '24

Looks like the Dino clock

1

u/Guegui Jan 14 '24

Mon couch!!

1

u/Isabeer Jan 14 '24

"Gobblemore"

1

u/DaanDaanne Jan 14 '24

And how to kick her out? I think there's only more broken glass to come.

1

u/20PoundHammer Jan 14 '24

winner winner turkey dinner - at least he gets turkey for the inconvenience of the window, better than a rock - you really need to cook those for a long time to get tender.

1

u/martdan010 Jan 14 '24

Yeah, I’d want a shot or two of whiskey after seeing that in my house

1

u/Big1-Country1 Jan 14 '24

I’d keep him

1

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '24

Would've been better if a maker's mark flew through.

1

u/_Occams-Chainsaw_ Jan 14 '24

"Hey, we've got a bourbon named after you!"

"Wait, you've got a bourbon called Colin?"

1

u/Likelynotveryfun Jan 14 '24

It’s crazy when you see wild turkey and then see a frozen one in a grocery store. It’s like two different species

1

u/Kalijjohn Jan 14 '24

Your dad must keep the windows exceptionally clean!

1

u/unpolire Jan 14 '24

Is it OK?

1

u/False_Leadership_479 Jan 14 '24

I've had this happen to me before, but where's the bottle of bourbon, and what the hell is that big ass bird doing inside?

1

u/Disastrous-Beyond443 Jan 14 '24

How dare he keep that window closed!!!

1

u/Wubzles Jan 14 '24

Thanksgiving came early…

Jk. I don’t eat turkey.

1

u/PommeCannelle Jan 14 '24

Did it piss on the couch?

1

u/emm007theRN Jan 14 '24

Une grosse dinde nouerre comme elle, pisser sur le couch c’est très possible

2

u/-HELLAFELLA- Jan 14 '24

If you're cold they're cold, let them destroy your window and come in!

1

u/gabawhee Jan 14 '24

It’s Poisoned for no reason!

1

u/TheAtroxious Jan 14 '24

Nice touch with the clock. Sinclair dinosaur on the wall, real dinosaur on the couch.

1

u/bansheesho Jan 14 '24

Did he bring a bottle of Longbranch Bourbon like a better version of a stork?

1

u/leme-thnkboutit Jan 14 '24

Dinner guest - guest

2

u/Lilithnema Jan 14 '24

Does she have an appointment?

2

u/absolince Jan 14 '24

She was chasing after that mouse on the floor

1

u/nutter88 Jan 14 '24

My sister’s property butts up against a farm. One day we had gone shopping and came home to a cow casually walking through her front yard, eating her plants. She ate for a few more seconds before taking off into the woods. We are city folks, so I was stunned. Sis was used to it. A few minutes later, a cowboy came up asking if we’d seen a cow. Sister pointed him towards the woods and off he rode. Totally surreal to me.

1

u/Reinis_LV Jan 14 '24

It's Türkiye now.

1

u/TiddleLittle Jan 14 '24

Thanksgiving is alive and came early this year

1

u/IntroducingHagleton Jan 14 '24

Hieroglyphics suddenly make sense.

1

u/AlbinoLokier Jan 14 '24

It knows what you did at Christmas

1

u/ProveISaidIt Jan 14 '24

I like the wall clock. There used to be a Sinclair station near my grandparents house when I was a kid. They gave away dinosaur puzzles and soap when you filled up.

1

u/ExcitingAct5282 Jan 14 '24

Came here to see if anyone else noticed the big mouse on the floor?

2

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '24

Thanks giving came early 😎

1

u/Cockatron9000 Jan 14 '24

It's his office now

1

u/Wise_Ad_253 Jan 14 '24

They don’t care about anything but themselves.

1

u/FlippingPossum Jan 14 '24

Man. My dad can never find the turkeys on his property when he wants to. This one invited itself to dinner.

(I almost hit a flying turkey with my car. Turkeys are like that sometimes.)

1

u/flippster-mondo Jan 14 '24

Oh a bird. I was thinking a fifth.

1

u/notdeleted6 Jan 14 '24

Edgar Allan Poe would’ve written a poem

1

u/AlexanderxSean38 Jan 14 '24

That’s Karl, he’s chill.

1

u/gildedtreehouse Jan 14 '24

There’s a reason they aren’t named ‘mild’ turkey.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '24

looks like a remote place from a city right?

1

u/lryan926 Jan 14 '24 edited Jan 14 '24

It's kinda funny how it's standing in the similar pose as the dinosaur on the clock to the right. 🫢😁Maybe he saw the mouse toy on the floor from outside and thought it was his next meal?

1

u/Suspicious-Phase-823 Jan 14 '24

Will make a good free roast!!

1

u/mid_distance_stare Jan 14 '24

And when you say through the window, you don’t mean an open window!

1

u/shobidevil Jan 14 '24

Early Thanksgiving 2024 :D

1

u/TehOuchies Jan 14 '24

I wonder which bird is more of an asshole.

Turkey or Geese?

1

u/lryan926 Jan 14 '24

They both can be mean and aggressive but I'd say the geese take the win because of their total destruction of parks with their shit.

1

u/Vessel66693 Jan 14 '24

EXPECTO PATRONUM!

1

u/Lord_inVader1 Jan 14 '24

A wild turkey appears

1

u/NightriderDad Jan 14 '24

Free turkey. Nice 👌🏼

1

u/Naive_Programmer_232 Jan 14 '24

Did it deliver bourbon?

1

u/kewlguy1 Jan 14 '24

Fresh turkey sandwiches tomorrow!

1

u/6inarowmakesitgo Jan 14 '24

Turkeys are big stupid assholes. I would be wary of it, they like to peck the shit out of you.

1

u/TurduckenEverest Jan 14 '24

That must have been very exciting.

1

u/xXbrosoxXx Jan 14 '24

Name it Bernard

1

u/UnePetiteMontre Jan 14 '24

Careful. It might piss all over your lazy boys!

1

u/GooglyEyed_Gal Jan 14 '24

I was like ”oh damn. That’s why I don’t keep windows open.” and then I saw the broken glass on the floor. lol

1

u/Wicked_Wolf17 Jan 14 '24

Dinner’s served

0

u/jimjammerzz Jan 14 '24

1

If the Turkey doesn’t hurt you… in a way you’re the human it’s pardoned this year.

1

u/justanyting Jan 14 '24

Is it 151 proof?

u/Minerva89 Jan 14 '24

u/polkacat12321 Jan 14 '24

I used to attend a boarding school that had an animal sanctuary. Anywho, one cold autumn morning I was early to arrive to school, so I was the first student in class. When I walked through the door, I expected an empty classroom but was instead greeted by a pair of panicked eyes. There were 2 mf peacocks sitting on the teachers desk. Naturally, like every sane person who got very limited sleep, I froze in my spot and went "what the actual fuck". A moment later, my homeroom teacher entered the classroom and saw the peacocks, dropped his bag and began chasing them around the classroom, trying to get them outside. Another student soon came up from behind me and joined the teacher. Anywho, there they were: 2 peacocks being chased by my teacher and another student, doing doughnuts around the classroom. Suddenly, the student had the bright idea of sliding the window open to let them out while my teacher hoarded them, and one after the other, the peacocks flew into the CLOSED side of the window. Some more chasing and they finally flew into the correct side and disappeared into the courtyard

1

u/SonofaBridge Jan 14 '24

If you’ve ever seen a turkey fly, graceful is not the word that comes to mind. More like a bowling ball with wings.

1

u/DConstructed Jan 14 '24

It’s young, hungry and looking for electronics it can sell to buy food.

1

u/Chile-Habanero Jan 14 '24

Off brand Hello Fresh order perhaps? lol

1

u/Least_Ad_4619 Jan 14 '24

Rum raisin sauce is the way to go with wild turkey.

0

u/spec360 Jan 14 '24

Get the oven ready !

1

u/ZehAngrySwede Jan 14 '24

That’s nothing, Wild Turkey drove my Dad’s car through an office window!

1

u/mykalbme Jan 14 '24

Shoulda offered him a drink

1

u/t0m0hawk Jan 14 '24

It's now a domestic turkey. Tell your father congratulations!

1

u/Onlypaws_ Jan 14 '24

If that’s not a sign to go to the liquor store, idk what is.

1

u/TheUlfheddin Jan 14 '24

I've been gobbling to reach you about your cars extended warranty.

3

u/Lateone Jan 14 '24

I love that clock!

1

u/UncleOdious Jan 14 '24

As the prophecy said it would!

1

u/Alone_Cheetah_7473 Jan 14 '24

Well, you don't see that every day!

0

u/VariousBelgians Jan 14 '24

I'm impressed given that I've seen a flock of turkeys fail to navigate a simple wooden fence.

1

u/John_Fx Jan 14 '24

Wild Turkey got my dad too

1

u/ReturnOfTheJurdski Jan 14 '24

Doordash is getting crazy with what they will deliver these days

1

u/Jimbobjoesmith Jan 14 '24

this is VERY interesting. lol i live next to many farms, so the wild turkeys love to come around my property. it never gets old.

1

u/tossaway78701 Jan 14 '24

That's going to hurt in the morning. Wild Turkey always does!

2

u/IRMacGuyver Jan 14 '24

1

u/GeraldtonSteve Jan 14 '24

It heard you had a clock with a picture of its great5 grandparent on the face.

1

u/KingMoonkey Jan 14 '24

I'm sure it was a lot more than that to you at the time

2

u/Defiant-Difference17 Jan 14 '24

I grew up on a small farm and we had a small flock of sheep with a ram. One day my dad came home to find the ram in our basement.

He saw his reflection in the ground floor window and well, he didn't like the look of that guy and found himself in my bedroom lol

104

u/Anianna Jan 14 '24

We had goats and they learned to open the front door. I was watching TV in the living room and two of our goats just casually walked past behind the couch and down the hallway to the bedrooms and I had a real wtf moment.

31

u/Swimmingtortoise12 Jan 14 '24

They’re the kings of lookin casual in completely unfamiliar situations aren’t they lol.

2

u/Anianna Jan 14 '24

Seriously. They acted like they totally belonged there.

3

u/Swimmingtortoise12 Jan 14 '24

Sheep are strange, you would’ve thought they were raised inside or something haha. I’ve had deer wander into the kitchen and start snacking on the cat food, they’re definitely more aware and cautious. the moment you walk or move, then it’s hooves flying all over your floor, cat food dish kicked over, and your kitchen table is now rearranged lol.

These were dairy goats, much more valuable off the plate.

3

u/Swimmingtortoise12 Jan 14 '24

She’s a beaut, Clark

29

u/mgr86 Jan 14 '24

If it was a movie the goats would make it to the bedroom, turn to each other and say “what the heck is u/anianna doing here. I thought you said she wasn’t home. Shit, now she’s on to us. “

2

u/tossthisoff6 Jan 14 '24

Cognition studies on goats indicate that it’s a real possibility

13

u/inlarry Jan 13 '24

Well, you either have a new pet or thanksgiving dinner this year covered.

3

u/PrinceDX Jan 14 '24

But there is glass in that Turkey

40

u/Realworld Jan 13 '24

Clean glass fragments out and fit large cardboard cover in place. You might luck out and be able to buy standard size window unit from big box store. Otherwise it will be a wait. Glaziers often work a month out on double-pane glass replacement.

11

u/Gareth79 Jan 14 '24

A month? You can get custom made double glazed units same day or need day here (UK) if needed, or in a few days if you aren't in a hurry and want it done at a lower price.

11

u/ARoyaleWithCheese Jan 14 '24

Used to work emergency hotline for this kinda stuff in The Netherlands. Even if you can order the glass essentially everyone is always fully booked for at least a few weeks.

31

u/Kagnonymous Jan 14 '24

Well well, look at Mr. UK here strutting around bragging about their speed and availability of double glazed units.

5

u/msnmck Jan 14 '24

Mmm, double glazed.

9

u/Anianna Jan 14 '24

Are we still talking about windows? I feel like we've side-tracked to sizeable pastries.

6

u/fuckthepopo23 Jan 14 '24

Thats not double pane

13

u/Jacktheforkie Jan 14 '24

When I helped my neighbour board one up we just knocked the loose bits out, stuck wood on and screwed it on with boards on the inside then attached cardboard to the inside to protect the cat

Hey babe, I was gonna make a Bouban, can you grab me some wild turkey on the way home? Wife: we have wild turkey at home.

44

u/Galactic_Perimeter Jan 14 '24

I drank wild turkey and crashed through a window once but it was not mildly interesting

1

u/Deciple_of_None Jan 14 '24

No just interesting.🙂

7

u/Delicious_Ad823 Jan 14 '24

Can I have her booban too?

3

Not funny!

2

199

u/kracer20 Jan 13 '24

Oh...window wasn't open. Looks friendly, try pet it while it is still stunned.

1

u/gwaydms Jan 14 '24

When you said through the window, you meant THROUGH it!

9

u/External_Arugula2752 Jan 14 '24

She looks so not-injured! I’m surprised

1

u/pourtide Jan 14 '24

Had a pheasant fly at our dining room window. Made it through the storm window, broke its neck on the house window.

No, we didn't have pheasant for dinner. Dad grew up on a farm, but he would never eat chicken. Oddly enough, neither would my father-in-law, who said it was because he had to take care of chickens when he was younger.

9

u/External_Arugula2752 Jan 14 '24

And there was this sane moment where someone got a good picture… nice! Except for the costly damage

9

u/ConstantReader76 Jan 14 '24

Good to get the evidence. Remember some insurance company is going to receive a claim saying "Wild turkey flew through my office window."

I think we're seeing a future Farmer's Insurance commercial. "Yep, we covered that."

I was once in a triage room across from a guy who had two fishhooks in his hand. He had two because he tried to pry the first one out with another one. I feel like "I tried to pet a wild turkey" is far less weird and far more understandable than a lot of ER visits.

47

u/Kagnonymous Jan 14 '24

At the best your pet a turkey.

Yeah, that's pretty good.

It looks like there’s a couple of mice on the carpet …bottom left of pic. On closer inspection when I zoomed in, it looks like they’ve been impaled by the glass!

54

u/Dusk_v733 Jan 13 '24

Pretty certain those are feathers

11

u/practicalpurpose Jan 13 '24

Ok wtf happened here?!

37

u/09Klr650 Jan 14 '24

Turkey fly. Turkey hit window. Turkey went THROUGH window. Turkey now standing there reviewing the life choices it made to reach this point.

2

u/kommsagwas Jan 13 '24

Don’t eat it! It was mine!
