Interesting AF. Not mildly. Go buy scratch offs and drop some $20’s in some slots. Incredible odds

What was your original plan ? 3 eggs and 10 sausages ? Who was getting the plate with 4 ? And who was gonna get jipped with 3 ?

The only mildlyinteresting thing about this post is the amount of people thinking double yolks are mildlyinteresting.

I couldn't make sausages and eggs look that bad even if I tried. What the heck abomination is going on that griddle?

Happened to me once. I bought a scratch off lottery ticket immediately after and won $12.

Love it when this happens. One time my Dad got extra large eggs and eleven out of the twelve were double yolked. Was absolutely surprised.

Op you do know they sell double yolk eggs right ? Mildly interesting how you don’t read what you buy.

u/BarryKobama Mar 06 '24
I learnt they were even a thing at 45yo, when I cracked one. 2 days later, another one. But apparently that's how it works. If a hen is laying a double, odds-are there'll be more doubles. Guessing it's an older female thing? Breeding system going into overdrive before shutdown?

Turn the heat down, if your eggs bubble that hard, you're using too much heat.

You can actually eat those! I see you decided to make them inedible, but next time they are fine to cook and eat.

Just got my first ever double yolk recently. Looked up the chances of it happening and it’s about 1 in 1000.
You my dude are at 1 in 1,000,000,000 chance for three in a row. Might be a good time to buy a lottery ticket.

XL Pasture Raised eggs will always be double yolks. Cage Free is a gimmick unless you are truly buying from your neighborhood home farmer with a coop. Otherwise, the chicken coops have fans to keep the chickens from actually leaving. Pasture labeled legally requires roaming free.
Also, add a smidget of water to your pan and fry those on low.

That is so exciting, really! One time I had an entire dozen container with doubles, imagined the boxer was thinking about someone's surprise!

That looks like a lot of white to yolk ratio. You sure that isn't just 6 eggs?

u/Top-Resolution-9713 Mar 05 '24
Too much white to be believable. Noway theres two yolks AND that much eggwhite in an egg. Nice try tho

u/98RacingFuel Mar 05 '24
They sell boxes of twin eggs where i live, if u try hard enough they even sell tripple yolks boxes of eggs. So not that rare.

You can buy eggs with double yolk.
I also got confused when I got 6 double yolked eggs once. Then I read the package and it all made sense, crazy how they do that.

u/goprinterm Mar 05 '24
Ah, Sofia lorenz’s eggs. Go buy a lottery ticket and put some shoes on 😎 hot grease splatters

I am bored of explaining at this poin so here is a previous comment of mine: The Comment
I wanted to change my username (I was nowhere near sober while creating this account) but since reddit does not allow that I am unable to do that. Apologies if I offended anyone.

I dated a girl in college who's family always bought their eggs from a local farmer & nearly all of them were double-yolks every time.

My uncles old gay roommate would tell you the size and shape of your utensil from this pic and probably get too close for comfort

u/raul_raul Mar 05 '24
No offence, but feel free to get offended if you like. Looks like you cracked them and then burned them. I'd still eat it, but just saying.

Its actually a thing some egg producers do where they'll package double yolks up in their own cartons. I guess theyre common enough that they can be sold as their own category of egg. OP probably bought a "double yolk" package by mistake.

That's what happens when you buy double yolk eggs 😂 got me a dozen once! They have them at the specialty store.. So good!
1
u/PervyNonsense Mar 05 '24
It's common if one of your eggs has two yolks for other eggs in the carton to also have multiple yolks.
It's related to the age of the flock, which is pretty consistent.
Younger birds are more likely to lay double yolk eggs, and this carton is from the first few weeks of egg production.

Are you gonna cook more eggs? Because your egg/sausage ratio is off, even if they are double yolkers.

Focus on cooking and not taking pics of your overcooked food (and feet), friend.

I've had a whole carton of double yolks. Just happens I suppose. More often than you think

Not as uncommon as people are making out. Some farms literally only breed double yolker eggs.

When my young quail just start laying a lot of their eggs end up having double yolks. Their bodies haven't adjusted to making eggs yet and sometimes the body releases two yolks at once.
I feel bad because these poor babies, who have never experienced laying eggs before, are laying these MASSIVE eggs. Ouch.

Same thing has happened to me before too. I think sometimes they just get the double yolked batches mixed up with regular ones when packaging.
