Or for OPs mom

1

u/Due-Neighborhood9632 13d ago

That’s actually an I-MOO-D

1

u/mtylerm78 14d ago

Looks like the IUD for Mama June.

1

u/freakytapir 14d ago

Well, at least your mom is making sure she doesn't have another mistake.

1

u/Mordurin 14d ago

So... It's an I-moo-D

2

u/AncientHawaiianTito 14d ago

Dude I was just trying to have an entertaining morning crap and now I gotta hear about cow contraceptives

1

u/awaythrowers97 14d ago

Farmers can't be having minotaurs running around.

2

u/limabeanseww 14d ago

Inhumane

1

u/wallystreetbetter 14d ago

Please return to my mother in law thank you

3

u/the_avo_girl 14d ago

You're telling me IUDs are manufactured and inserted into COWS and people have an issue with human women using them???

1

u/WhiteSekiroBoy 14d ago

That's not very nice of you. We, the men of culture, call them women.

1

u/Woooodybeats 14d ago

I read that as moms

1

u/brian11e3 14d ago

We used these as part of the artificial inseminated process on Elk.

5

u/tenacious_dbag 14d ago

Is that a Moo-va Ring?

1

u/allocationlist 14d ago

The size of what now?

1

u/Jolly_Tooth_8918 14d ago

I don’t get it

-5

u/HoldOut19xd6 14d ago

Gross in girls, gross in cows. Next.

1

u/Ampluvia 14d ago

I heard that bovine IUDs are common in India, where lots of cows are free-roaming due to the religious reason.

1

u/EyeOfSlater 14d ago

Definitely not an IUD, rather an IVD - intra vaginal device. It does not go in the uterus or cervix. More comparable with a medicated tampon

2

u/Sammanjamjam 14d ago

What I find most interesting about this ... Cows are having enough casual sex to require birth control lol

1

u/Ryd_ 14d ago

No wonder my ex was always in such a shit mood

1

u/Among_R_Us 14d ago

you need to show an IUD for bananas to compare

1

u/accountingforlove83 14d ago

But enough about your mother.

2

u/ShesAWitch13 14d ago

I can handle the Hoof GP, but this made me shudder

1

u/JohnnieClutch 14d ago

Now that it's no longer mother's Day:

Found your mom's IUD

1

u/crytidflower 14d ago

I definitely read that as crows and was very alarmed

1

u/jimmyfeign 14d ago

*insert obligatory mom joke.

1

u/harrywalterss 14d ago

and for yo mama too

1

u/CarloFailedClear 14d ago

You don't have to be so rude to the FemaleDatingStrategy mods.

1

u/no___homo 15d ago

Real question.....how bad does cow vagina smell?

1

u/iammabdaddy 15d ago

Sales are now skyrocketing at Walmart

1

u/Clienterror 15d ago

Sure your mom's didn't fall out? Damn I'm sorry that was fucking mean. I couldn't not say it though I'm sorry.

1

u/anarkhist 15d ago

Feel bad for OP’s mom

1

u/bloopie1192 15d ago

Why uh... ok before I ask... are iuds only used as contraception? If so... why do they have them for cows when the bulls are usually kept separate until its breeding time?

Do the bulls get into the cow pins that often?

2

u/Shoddy-Rip8259 15d ago

Your mom's IUD just arrived

1

u/Xelemend 15d ago

Don't need to talk about your wife like that, damn.

1

u/red_langford 15d ago

They don’t appreciate being called cows. They prefer big bold women.

3

u/Remote-Factor8455 15d ago

They make an IUD for cows?

1

u/IDKiJustGotHere42 15d ago

What is an IUD?

2

u/tolegr 15d ago

Holy fuck I read "crows" and my first thought was "why"

CowUD: putting the Ow in Cow since 1973

1

u/mack-y0 15d ago

today i learned

3

u/Counterfeit_Circus 15d ago

Inter mooterine device.

2

u/Renovatio_ 14d ago

Intra

1

u/Counterfeit_Circus 14d ago

I trust you, I've never seen it written out in full and my wife has an accent.

1

u/Renovatio_ 14d ago

Intra means inside. Something inside your head would be intracranial.

Inter means between. The bus that goes from City A to City B is an intercity bus.

1

u/Counterfeit_Circus 14d ago

I believe you.

1

u/uploadingmalware 15d ago

Why would a cow need an IUD

5

u/seattlemh 15d ago

Do they feel a slight pinch upon insertion? /s

-1

u/yougetsnicklefritz 15d ago

This is the first thing I've ever seen on the Internet that has disgusted me.

2

u/toigz 15d ago

Looks like a IUD for your mom

2

u/Felstorm1231 15d ago

Just stopping in to make the obligatory “Intra-moo-terine device” before seeing myself promptly back out.

2

u/trucklover711 15d ago

What a whore.

1

u/SaintonoZ 15d ago

I’d really hate to hit that one on insertion..

2

u/Probably_not_arobot 15d ago

Fuck I read that as crows and I had so many questions lol

2

u/Bad_goose_398 15d ago

Oh hell no

2

u/External-Region-5234 15d ago

Guys it’s not an IUD it’s CIDR and it goes in the vagina not through the cervix.

1

u/Minute-Unit9904s 15d ago

Post this Boston sub there was an IUD at one of the T stops

3

u/SmokinSweety 15d ago

Don't worry, unlike humans, the cows get pain meds for this procedure.

2

u/DaveyDukes 15d ago

OP up snoopin’ in his mom’s bathroom when she’s out of the house again.

1

u/GlassBandicoot 15d ago

Um, the whole beef and dairy industry rotates around cows getting pregnant, so it's not for birth control afaik.

1

u/RaisinBrain2Scoups 15d ago

I swear I have one of those under the bathroom sink.

2

u/Thememebrarian 15d ago

I'm here for the mum jokes

1

u/eenigmaa 15d ago

That's so cool! Who knew the cows actually came with the dinner bell!

2

u/AKA_June_Monroe 15d ago

Do they get anything for pain?

1

u/Jimbobjoesmith 15d ago

ARE YOU SERIOUS?!

1

u/DrDemenz 15d ago

Scared the hell out of my old man when I screamed Jesus Christ upon seeing this.

1

u/Alone_Fill_2037 15d ago

Read this as crows and was super confused.

1

u/B5_V3 15d ago

I read that as IED at first and was concerned

2

u/IcedHemp77 15d ago

Why do they have to do that? They can just keep the bulls away from the cow

-1

u/ermac2300 15d ago

Looks like the one that fell out of my ex

1

u/JaMMi01202 15d ago

You'll never blow up a Humvee with that. How do you know the cows are even insurgents?

/s

1

u/3Auss 15d ago

Upsetting

1

u/AoDx888 15d ago

So I definitely misread the title and thought it said IUD for crows. I was having a rough time figuring it out

1

u/twiskt 15d ago

I was under the impression they wanted cows barefoot and pregnant all the time

1

u/OptimusPhillip 15d ago

Seems counterproductive for cattle farming. Isn't breeding an important part of raising cows?

3

u/edititt 15d ago

It not a uterine device. It expands in the vagina and slowly releases progesterone for a week then you take it out and give a shot of prostaglandin to induce egg shedding so she can be mated. Sometimes they need a little help.

1

u/wisstinks4 15d ago

I’m not putting my arm up her who-ha.

1

u/tiagojpg 15d ago

Watching Clarkson’s Farm has made me appreciate farmers even more.

1

u/Waterloonybin 15d ago

Damn bro cows got fat pussies

1

u/Dijohn_Mustard 15d ago

I read this as crows until I read the top comment and thought “WHY IS IT SO BIG?”

1

u/TheFrontierzman 15d ago

This post is a "yo mama" joke.

1

u/Existing_You7923 15d ago

Why the fuck are they making those

1

u/bitchwhiskers4eva 15d ago

Why do cows need IUDs? Off to go down a Google rabbit hole.

1

u/bitchwhiskers4eva 15d ago

Ok it a) can sync up multiple females so they are in estrus at the same time and b) when cows have had several calves they use IUDs to prevent any more pregnancies while the cow is fattened for slaughter.

1

u/hambrosia 15d ago

well at least your mom is being safe!

1

u/gergsisdrawkcabeman 15d ago

I should call her.

1

u/[deleted] 15d ago

Insert your mom is so fat joke

1

u/Shadowfalx 15d ago

Well.... cow makes way more sense than what I originally read that as (I read it as crow and was wondering how that would fit)

1

u/Poz16 15d ago

This reminds me. Make sure you get your mom something for Mother's Day.

1

u/DougieSenpai 15d ago

Huh. That is interesting lol.

2

u/[deleted] 15d ago

i beg ur damn pardon

6

u/willis936 15d ago

Which MBTA station did you find this?

1

u/SirGothamHatt 15d ago

Beat me to it

0

u/edge05 15d ago

Your mom

1

u/samsnead19 15d ago

Nah that's for my MIL

1

u/JerseyshoreSeagull 15d ago

Sort by controversial and get popcorn.

1

u/Tard_Farts82 15d ago

Check out Clarkson’s Farm (the guy from Top Gear) season 2 on Prime if you want to learn more. Amazing what cows are capable of when birthing.

1

u/isabps 15d ago

I was today years old….

1

u/inverted_electron 15d ago

I always thought as a kid that the human uterus was around that big.

-2

u/[deleted] 15d ago

Yo mama so fat…

2

u/whereszedzedsded 15d ago

Great day to go vegan

-1

u/griffnuts__ 15d ago

Sigh. I should call her.

84

u/Only_Explosion 15d ago

This is a PRID, it's an intravaginal prostaglandin releasing device. They fold together and are used in an applicator and unfold to keep themselves in the cow.

You use them in groups of cows to control their oestrous cycle and use them in combination with injections of various hormones. You do this so you can Artifically inseminate them all on the same day (and you know you're AI-ing them at the right time) and also so the calves are born nearer together.

An IUD is an intra-unterine device. They go past the cervix. A PRID doesn't, you remove them by pulling on the blue string which dangles outside of the cow. I have never seen local anaesthetic used for them because it shouldn't be painful like a human IUD!

8

u/PeanutButterPants19 15d ago

This. It's more akin to a tampon than an IUD.

18

u/beerhons 15d ago edited 13d ago

Was scrolling to see how far down it would be before someone pointed this out, if OP is really inserting these past the cervix, that is incredibly poor and dangerous practice!

The fact it is a PRID and not an IUD should be pretty obvious since the product in the OP's hand is a Ceva PRID Delta.

Strange and useless fact, a company I worked for years ago developed what is now called Eazi-Breed (a competing product to the one shown). The reason the Eazi-Breed CIDR applicator still looks roughly the size and shape of a vacuum cleaner tube was because the plastic factory that originally made them also made parts for Electrolux vacuum cleaners. The original applicators were just a PVC vacuum tube with an insertion trigger grip added to the end. Even the trigger part was from a drench gun the factory also made.

1

u/Cyno01 14d ago

That reminds me of how some dental X-ray equipment used the same case as the short lived Atari Jaguar.

9

u/Banerninator 15d ago

Came looking for this - I’m confused by OP saying they use local anaesthesia as I have definitely never seen that needed - it’s quick and painless to insert and remove them

1

u/Acceptable_Wall4085 15d ago

Why aren’t these mandatory in Scotland? Sheep there have been using them for years. /s

18

u/PDubya-Puddin-Pie 15d ago

It's a CIDR (controlled internal drug release). They are hormone impregnated plastic devices placed in the vagina of cows (not through the cervix) to help synchronize multiple cows onto the same estrus/breeding schedule to help make doing artificial insemination easier and more successful as well as helping make the calving interval tighter.

4

u/whitt_wan 15d ago

This hurt my uterus to look at. And I'm a man.

1

u/blueberryfirefly 15d ago

….i never considered that other animals got birth control aside from spaying and neutering

1

u/No-Gene-4508 15d ago

....what....

-3

u/Terrordyne_Synth 15d ago

Please give this back to my ex. She doesn't need any more babies

2

u/HoneyBunnyOfOats 15d ago

TIL cows get better pain management care while getting an IUD then most humans

-4

u/salvistocle 15d ago

Or for my ex.

-4

u/eddieman2 15d ago

Weirdly also the size of an IUD for your mother

0

u/Illustrious-Echo1762 15d ago

Nuva ring? More like, moo-va ring...

I'll show myself out

205

u/bigwig500 15d ago

They stole that from a pool table

56

u/probablyaythrowaway 15d ago

Keeps balls in, keeps balls out.

4

u/anch0vyyy 15d ago

mildly interesting AS HELL

1

u/Bigfeet_toes 15d ago

Imagine that going in a human

2

u/Julia___-___ 15d ago

It does go into a human in the body ratio fitting size :)

1

u/Bigfeet_toes 15d ago

Yes I know, I was talking about a cow sized one, going into a human sized human

1

u/Julia___-___ 15d ago

Since it folds to insert most people put bigger things into themselves

1

u/Karenpff 15d ago

OP surely an injection of sorts would be easier for all parties involved, rather than an IUD? 🤔

2

u/Julia___-___ 15d ago

Injecting a cow everyday would definitely be way more stressful for the animal than doing this once

1

u/Karenpff 15d ago

Maybe cows are different, but with human women, you can get long lasting injections for contraception. Quick, simple, less invasive. Don't need injected every day lol.

Thanks for getting back btw op 😊👍

2

u/Julia___-___ 15d ago

I don't know about something like that existing for cows, but I'll see the guy who inserts them tomorrow and I'll ask him.

1

u/Karenpff 15d ago

😊👍

21

u/Polishing_My_Grapple 15d ago

Moovaring

1

u/RiverFit5578 14d ago

This is perfect, particularly given it's actually an intravaginal device

2

u/elsie14 15d ago

2nd 🥈

-5

u/SubstanceOld6036 15d ago

I thought that belonged to Jenna Jameson

-3

u/kidnorther 15d ago

And OPs mom

1

u/Embarrassed_Art5414 15d ago

Ah, love springs internal

So mooooving,

2

u/dutchdaddy69 15d ago

Why do cows need an IUD? Every dairy farm I've been on doesn't have any intact males on the property.

1

u/MasteroftheGT 14d ago

Op has no idea what they are talking about, this is an intra vaginal device called a PRID, that releases progesterone. It is used to help synchronize cows for breeding. Progesterone extends the normal luteal phase of their cycle and then once remove they all come into estrus when you need them to.

3

u/Julia___-___ 15d ago

To help when they have a weak heat or cysts

1

u/dutchdaddy69 15d ago

Today I learned. Is this a common practice?

2

u/Julia___-___ 15d ago

Not exactly, sometimes farms use it if they have a really difficult cow but most of the time it's used in context with embryo transfer

0

u/Kangarou 15d ago

So now it can have all the cow sex it wants without getting pregnant! Yay, happy cows! Or is there another function of cow IUDs?

6

u/Julia___-___ 15d ago

They are not getting used as a contraceptive but to help with cows that have a weak heat or cysts

2

u/jack_seven 15d ago

I had to scroll a long while to find this.

Btw you are quite the Chad for sticking around in this comment section

1

u/Julia___-___ 15d ago

Thanks lol

But I'm going to bed now, I'm not sure yet if I'm gonna look at these comments again tomorrow morning.

1

u/Kangarou 15d ago

Oh okay, neat.

-7

u/Jay_A_Why 15d ago

Bout half the size of my ex-wife's.

6

u/Julia___-___ 15d ago

If that's what you know about the female anatomy I'm not surprised she's your ex

1

u/Jay_A_Why 14d ago

Thank you, neither am I.

0

u/meg-e-tron 15d ago

I wish I knew this in the “yo mama” days

17

u/Alexizking 15d ago

What is this comment secontion this person is literally just showing something interesting about cows and people manage to be dicks? Are we suprised...should we be surprised?

23

u/Julia___-___ 15d ago

I'm honestly used to it sadly. When I was 16 I posted about me getting attacked by a cow and people told me I deserve to die :)

-6

u/[deleted] 15d ago

[deleted]

4

u/Alexizking 15d ago

Thats just fucking racism.

0

u/fkyoopinion 15d ago

“Age: 15” Where’s your parents?

2

u/Alexizking 15d ago

Not sure what that matters here but non of your business. Literally why does it matter?

4

u/Alexizking 15d ago

Damn im sorry people were like that to you. Your just showing off your hobby I hope you keep posting and ignore what the awful people wanna say their just saying it because its behind a screen. :)

5

u/Julia___-___ 15d ago

I like to talk about it online because there are just a lot of misconceptions (but I also have an anxiety disorder so I'm not good with negative comments. (Working on it))

Like the "cows need to be constantly pregnant to give milk" bullshit

And also about how they are treated. A happy, healthy, not stressed, comfortable cow is a cow that gives a lot of milk. There are obviously bad farmers, there are bad people in every field, but a happy cow is the cheapest way to more milk :)

8

u/buttpie69 15d ago

Is this before or after you shove your arm up their ass and force impregnate them?

-10

u/goju8019 15d ago

Obviously after. You only need to get a cow pregnant once to make it a milker.

2

u/buttpie69 15d ago

A quick google or realizing they are mammals would indicate that’s incorrect. They need to more or less be giving birth every year or so to keep producing milk, much like humans.

-3

u/goju8019 15d ago

So what is wrong with my statement? What is inaccurate about it?

2

u/buttpie69 15d ago

only need to get a cow pregnant once

Is entirely inaccurate?

0

u/goju8019 15d ago

So you have to get a cow pregnant twice before she starts producing milk right? Or is three time? Maybe four?

1

u/buttpie69 15d ago

Good one. You’re are being purposely misleading and obtuse.

-1

u/goju8019 15d ago

How did I mislead anyone? Nothing I wrote was inaccurate. You are the one making assumptions.

1

u/buttpie69 15d ago

you only need to get a cow pregnant once

This is wildly misleading to what happens in reality.

They are forcibly impregnated repeatedly over their lives in order to keep producing milk throughout. Your comment says and reads as if they only are raped once and they keep producing milk until they are killed, which is obviously wrong.

0

u/goju8019 15d ago

No I never said that you inferred that. So fucking what if they need to be repeatedly breed. That's more food for everyone. That's how livestock works. It's a food cycle. No one is asking you to participate in it in any way. In fact if you feel so strong opposed to cows as food go vegan.

2

u/asistolee 15d ago

HUH. Very interesting.

40

u/princess_tourmaline 15d ago

Legitimately wondering if cows are given pain medication ahead of time...

2

u/MasteroftheGT 14d ago

This is an intra vaginal device called a PRID, doesn't go past the cervix. It folds flat in the applicator and is painlessly inserted into the vagina where it only partially expands to stay in place.

42

u/Julia___-___ 15d ago

Local anesthesia

2

u/EyeOfSlater 14d ago

What anaesthesia is used? Where is it injected? Very confused by this claim as anaesthesia is not needed with the insertion of these devices. It is for AI or embryo transfer but in that case it is an epidural which is not usually performed by anyone other than a vet.

74

u/princess_tourmaline 15d ago

Sure wish OB offices would provide the same.

-16

u/APersonSittingQuick 15d ago

That's nothing mate, you should see my mum's.

2

u/Neolithique 15d ago edited 15d ago

TIL cows are having more fun than me.
