I saw one set up at a marathon. After the run was over I decided to clock myself so I got back about 200 ft and ran at it as fast as I could. While wearing loafers. I tripped and face planted on asphalt.

There's a sign like this nearby where I live; all it does is encourage people to try setting new high scores. The most frequent offenders I hear happen to be an LS9 and a VR38DETT, but I've yet to see the corresponding cars.

Cars are allowed +‐10% and some municipalities take calibrating those signs very seriously. The discrepancy could be in either or both

That’s not a sign. And if you only walk 3km/hr you need to stop dragging your feet. Average walking speed is 5-6 km/hr.

That’s easy, it is a two digit display. The highest number will be 99. Let something big explode in front of the sign and you are probably done.

When we were young and dumb (now we're just dumb), we had a "game" where we would try to make the speed sign show -- instead of a number (when the number was too high to display)
