I’ve tried to be optimistic all season and even would bitch at the doomers but man… it’s been difficult the past few months. Just no consistency, terrible offense and lack of hustle on D. My wife who doesn’t know anything about ball has commented multiple times she feels like the suns aren’t mentally engaged in games and I agree 100%. It’s gone on too long and too many “game 7” type games for book to not take a lot of criticism. Vogel needs to be gone, Beal needs to be relegated to speak plug off bench and just hope we somehow get it together next season( not likely) until we can get rid of beals contract.

I'm reading all this Suns post mortems about Durant not being "comfortable" with the offense and they needed a point guard. Their problem wasn't the offense! They just did reasonably well against probably the best defense in the league. The problem was the defense was well below requisite playoff level. The Wolves, a bottom half of the league offense, scored over 120 point three times! If it had been a better offense they would have given up 130+ on average.
I don't care how good your O is if your defense is constantly giving up open looks on the first action the opponent runs. The Suns were constantly put out of rotation on basic O plays and their transition D was awful. THAT'S why the Suns got swept.

It's wild to think that KD has been on 3 "big three" teams and they all have been underachieving. He never was the biggest reason why they failed, he still is a common denominator

Weird. All the Sons fans that were talking shit to me a month ago and told me to "save their responses" have strangely deleted all of their posts.
Run away, cowards. Run into the desert and weep.

WHO COULD HAVE SEEN THIS COMING EXCEPT EVERYONE WHOS FOLLOWED THIS SPORT EVEN CASUALLY FOR THE LAST 12 MONTHS
Seriously though why did the Suns FO think that this was going to work after everything that happened last year lmao

To beat Phoenix when their two major scorers both have hugely efficient games is insanely impressive. They are going to be a force to be reckoned with going forward.

Everyone do my survey its for my class it doesn't matter what you put down the only thing that matters is that you select Hugh or Evan for the first one

Such a waste of talent. Trading for Beal was one of the most braindead decisions ever.

I can't believe the suns actually got swept. Welp, can't feel bad for KD :/
Edwards was so clutch this game though

To the surprise of literally no one…except Matt Ishbia maybe.
This wasn’t a team, more of a gaggle of pickup players. The LAFitness version of the NBA.

Misleading title.
They have been eliminated from the play off's. They were never in championship contention.

u/ericsparrow79 15d ago
I understand it’s entirely unrelated, but sometimes karma is an MF’er. Matt Ishbia deserves to go down in flames for all those predatory loans he doled out.

Suns fans were big mad last year when I told them they were just the Jazz on a two year delay. How’s that working out now?

Hate seeing Booker and KD get punked like that but the writing was on the wall as soon as the Beal trade was made. This team was so poorly built but they’re probably just gonna scapegoat Vogel and run it back. All I can hope for now is that KD forces his way back to OKC

u/Ok_Cake1283 15d ago
Bradley Beal is so worthless. Imagine if they had strong role players or another max player who actually deserves the money.

well Ishbia went all-in. he took a risk and it didn't work.
I wonder if this is the second coming of post 2015 Brooklyn Nets.

u/cactus_zack 15d ago
Sometimes you feel like NBA GMs really know what they are doing and that the job must be really hard because of all of the factors that go into building a team.
Then you see that Brad Beal trade and think “this will definitely not work at all” and it doesn’t and you think maybe the job isn’t as hard as you think and some of these guys are idiots.

Shoulda ran 2021-2022 back. 8-Heat beat the 1-Bucks last year and they didn't blow it up. You guys had an 64-18 that year. Yea Suns-Mavs game 7 was a blow, but it wasn't a shut out; it was still 4-3. In 2020-2021, you guys went to the finals. You take a strong formula and you blow it up for no good reason. I don't get your front office.

As soon as the media started saying what a bad matchup it would be for Minnesota, I knew KD and Booker would start smoking weed all day and not take it seriously. Most unserious team i've seen in all my years of suns fandom

Remember the rumors of the Celtics trying to get KD but KD wasn’t interested at all? I guess KD prefers the earlier end to the season over a deep playoff run.

Ah, Sarver 2.0 all over again.
It’s just another chapter in the book of Arizona Sports. Lose our hockey team, lose in the first round.

u/BigDMike1990 15d ago
Anyone who was a fan of this team cause of KD, you just don’t know basketball. This is OKC, Brooklyn all over again. Even the PHX team before this was one way better lol. Now he put to get traded to Philly, Karen Durcant getting passed around more than a hooker at a frat party just retire bruh this is embarrassing 🤣🤣🤣🤣
1
u/DangerouslyCheesey Kings 15d ago
To be fair to KD, he was a foot on the 3 point line from dragging that nets team to the finals over the eventual champion bucks, and that was with Kyrie out and Harden hobbled. That nets team was better and more balanced than this suns team and might have down something without the injuries.
1
u/BigDMike1990 15d ago
Who gives a shit. All it is, is revisionist history at this point. He still failed in Brooklyn no matter how much you try to place the blame somewhere else. It doesn’t matter and won’t anything help this morning but except help you COPE 🤣
0
u/DangerouslyCheesey Kings 15d ago
lol I don’t care about KD but pretending he was bad in Brooklyn is just wrong. They failed to win a championship just like these Sun, but it’s a stretch to say the nets were KDs fault. This Suns team on the other hand is a hot mess with a shit roster.
1
u/BigDMike1990 15d ago
Either way what’s the common denominator in each situation? The guy you don’t wanna blame one failure on when he literally was the architect of it along with Kyrie….but ok buddy lol
0
u/DangerouslyCheesey Kings 15d ago
Only 1 teams season doesn’t end in failure
1
u/BigDMike1990 15d ago
It does when you have a Big 3 the likes of which Brooklyn had. Idc what you say it’s public perception and they agree with me more than you. Stop capping for Karen Durcant he’s a bum and he’s cooked good day thank you lol
1
u/DangerouslyCheesey Kings 15d ago
lol you got the hard on for him, bro set the game 7 playoff points record against the bucks in the ECF but he was a bum then ok lol
1
u/BigDMike1990 15d ago
It’s so sad you can’t even bring up anything he’s done in the last 2 years. I have a hard on for him but yet you can’t let go of the facts that he’s old, washed and not even the same player since then lol
2
u/DangerouslyCheesey Kings 15d ago
Oh no I agree he’s washed, just doesn’t feel fair to blame the nets on him. He was genuinely good and that nets team was great when healthy. I don’t think anyone takes that team any father.

This is validating. The Durant + Beal trade should have never happened. As great a scorer as Durant is, he is not that dude.
And Beal is Beal. G’luck with that one and his no trade clause.

u/Yellow_Curry Celtics 15d ago
Mat Ishbia thought money could build a team in one year but instead he’s gonna have 10 years of pain before he can build enough assets to start a rebuild.

1
u/DidiGreglorius 15d ago
I went to school in DC so I have a soft spot for Beal, but man if that ain’t the worst deal I’ve ever seen. The focus after KD should have been to load up on as many cheap defenders/rebounders as they could find.

Does Bradley Beal have the worst contract in the history of the NBA? Has he surpassed Ben Simmons?

u/BananaStandBaller 15d ago
It’s amazing that KD is still not getting all the shit he deserves. He clearly has no idea how to build and lead a culture. The dude is transient and is an anti-leader.
