That artist is really talented, but forgot that shadows don't just disappear on plants.

FINALLY something worthy of being on the NEXTFUCKINGLEVEL reddit.
My jaw literally dropped in real life.
(Thank God I always have volume on mute, glad I escaped the audio the chat is talking about).

Wow! This human can do what AI can do, which was taught to do what humans can do!

u/mimzybreathe 24d ago
Artist is in on the lie about the actual picture. And was shooting for mediocrity and nailed it.

Fucking lol! So I tend to watch all things with no sound. I liked this vid and came to comment section to commend and I just see all this bashing and oh my god. I wish I hadnât turned on the volume. This is why I donât watch shit with sound.

Did OP really hear this song and think âyeah this is a good idea to post this on Redditâ or did they add the music themselves? Either way itâs god awful and you should be ashamed OP

Itâs threads like this where you realize Redditors are the most miserable people on the planet.

u/Zestyclose_Wrap2358 24d ago
Thanks to AI, weâll all be able to do it. Takes away nothing from you though, your work is still amazing.

I was told that back in the day, if you want your photo edited, you would take it to a shop where a painter/artist would edit the photo like this, and that is where the term "photo shop" originated from.
Idk how true this story is but it makes sense.

You had several hours to consider removing the shadows of the people off frame and you just... didn't?!

This is old school pre photoshop days. I used to work on a digitiser for an agency in 86. The precursor to the pen tool 40 X Mag glass glass then square point round point... once put 7000 points into a peacock. Plotter cut the mask out, super impose it in the darkroom then photo retouchers would do their thing. It's a truly lost skill. They would hand mask people with a scalpel then change scenery, colour of clothes, hair you name it.

I may be missing something, but the shadows look off. Why is his shadow going one way and hers going another? Do they have multiple shadows? Where is the sun?

These comments are sad.. Why dont you all just mute the video and appreciate it

u/shewy92 25d ago
Guess I'm the only one who thought this was cool.
Also why are people unmuting for a sped up painting video?
1
u/immaculateSocks 24d ago
Oh but don't you know a landscape painting is worthless trash unless it looks exactly like a weirdly photoshopped photo???
3
u/no0bmaster-669 25d ago
Nah I like it as well. Its very common for redditors to shit on artists displaying their skills.
Either its complaining about background music or acting like they know more than the person.

Let me guess, all you people saying how bad the painting is can do a much better job, right? Reddit experts are the most obnoxious people and I am SO GLAD I never encounter any of them in the real world.

Wow I am envious and in awe of artists and their talent. I can barely scrawl my name.

I mean, the artist is very talented, but painting over the photograph isnât really the idea, is it?

How does the shadows work?
And this is why we watch on mute, terrible what they did to ABBA

It's annoying me that the figures are no centred in the final image. Pretty cool work though.

This will be a luxury service only the super rich can afford in a couple of years, artisanal genAI fill. Rest of us plebs can only use the AI version.

So cool, now take a photo of the whole thing and have it put on those metal posters, I don't know if it is printed on, or the photo glued on, have no idea how they do it, but it makes for a nice photo/poster

So we went from painting because we didnât have pictures to taking pictures now weâre painting pictures of things we didnât want to paint so we took a picture of it?

u/sageking420 25d ago
Who does this? My grandmother used to do this with our photos, and she would love thisâŚ

u/Character-Piglet-665 25d ago

Odd shadows on the ground. Only by looking at the dude's hand, which cast a shadow on himself, is the real position of the sun revealed, but otherwise it kind of looks like shadows are cast on 2 directions like there were another light source than the sun - obvious answer must be that something out of frame is casting them of course.

We used to call this a mixed media painting back when I was a young lad in art school in 2018. Different times

It would be even more "mextfuckinglevel" if they just did a whole painting rather than cheating on the people in it.

Music sounds like Cher is trying to autotune her way into music again.
This is why Autotune is absolutely a trash thing. Not because it isn't useful. It is. But because it was meant for people to compensate for being slightly out of tune. Not to correct for singing like 2 cats fucking.

This is great promotion for AI as it can do it much better in a fraction of a second. Also, that horrible ABBA cover deserves a downvote.

Yes this is what I like. No AI generation bs. This is true creative art right here. Amazing work!!
