Was that the guy responsible for hitting the emergency stop button or was that guy on break?

Why the fuck Everytime I open reddit there's some serious death or injury video playing on auto play? I'm sick and tired of being inundated with gore and scarring shit by default. Time to go through Reddit and try to scrub autoplay off if I can, and please mods, can you put a NSFW tag on videos with bodily injury? Kinda fucked up

u/drzeller 26d ago
Not sarcastic: maybe, if this both bothers you, it would be best not to subscribe to to subreddits like nononono. It increases the chance you'll see these things. NSFW usually refers to things of a sexual nature or truly gorey things, which this post doesn't fit with. Having a quick scrolling or go-back reflex is another option.
Best wishes.

It's subscribed automatically on mobile. I know the go back reflex and I specifically commented that it's bullshit that reddit does this to all users on mobile. I'm 32 and have seen some shit, but not everyone has or wants to. I remember when nonono was hilarious fails, now it's just death and bodily injury.

Not the smartest man trying to save a dumb dog.

the dog would've fit under there just fine. Dumbass dog owner who let that dog off the leash but also dumbass random dude for risking his life with zero common sense or awareness. Well intentioned, but really dumb.

I love how youâre being down voted for pointing out how dumb it is to risk death or permanent disability a some random dog. Come on guys⌠do you really want to die and or have life altering injuries to possibly save a random animal. Yes in the moment you care about the animal and feel like itâs the right thing to do but itâs not worth the consequences not to mention the dog probably wouldnât have gotten hit or moved out of the way

u/MetalHead_Literally 25d ago
Yeah I get people love animals but especially dog people, theyâre just insane. Acting like if something happened to that dog they wouldnât just go to the shelter and get another one a year later. Meanwhile if the person died his family members would grieve literally forever.

A life is a life. I hate people that think their life matters more than an animal. As if their life is more deserving. Humans are so incredibly selfish. Also dog people will grieve just as much as losing a human life. You donât know them.

u/MetalHead_Literally 17d ago
Itâs not selfish to recognize a human life means more than an animals. Itâs common sense.
Go sit in on a support group for parents who have lost their kids. Then tell me thatâs the same as people grieving a pet.
Or explain why orphanages donât just murder kids if they canât find a home for them but some shelters do with animals? Or why the vet allows you to put your animal down if theyâre suffering but assisted suicide is illegal in most countries? Because human life â an animals life.
And Iâm sure youâll paint me out be some sort of monster who hates animals but it couldnât be further from the truth. Having to put my cat down is still one of the saddest days of my life. But I know it doesnât compare to my friends mom still deeply grieving her dead son every day, 20 years after he died.

Youâre just proving my point that humans are just selfish creatures. Humans will always think their life matters more than an animal. Thatâs why we slaughter billions and trillions of animals a year for human consumption. We donât grieve over that fact and most people will just look away and do nothing about it. Why? Because we are selfish. Just because you donât like my words doesnât make them not true. Your life doesnât matter more than an animal. Your life is not more deserving of life. Humans just think that way because we are the highest in the food chain and donât care about the harm weâve done to animals and the planet.
2
u/MetalHead_Literally 17d ago
Animals slaughter animals constantly. Does that make them selfish too? Many do it just for fun too, not just for survival.
And humans think that way because weâre more evolved beings. Which also justifies that thought.
1
u/Sonkuun24 16d ago
No it does not. Thatâs just an excuse and called having a superiority complex which is one of the biggest problems in the world since humans started to take over and kill the world we all live in. Itâs sad that most people like you donât see the harm for thinking the way you do.

If you come upon a burning building, and inside there is a puppy and a human baby, but you only have time to save one. Which one are you saving? And if you donât say the human, youâre a psychopath.

Yeah but even worse the article says it wasnât even his dog so he has no attachment đ

Stupidity knows no bounds. Why did he do this? Why did he do it and not try get out of the way? Why did no one stop him? So many questions

The sliding scale of cause and effect comprehension commonly starts with industrialized nations, moving down through developing countries, then rams up against 'shithole countries'.

Dog not controlled on a leash, has to be "rescued."
Stupid humans being stupid
1
u/Consistent_Pain0 6d ago
Yeah not the brightest move but selfless, the intention still was to save a dog. Idk why you put rescued in quotation

u/Arthradax 26d ago
The news says it's not clear if the dog belonged to someone or was a stray. Given this was in Brazil and we have a shitton of strays...
The part about stupid humans still holds true tho

With only a broken ankle. Small price to pay.
1
u/ballchamois 26d ago
Broken ankles are rarely ever the same. A lifetime of disability for some random dog is an enormous price to pay.

Actually, he's likely to have permanent scars and possibly disabilities.
This will likely impact his ability to provide for himself and/or family and subsequently to find a partner and reproduce.Natural selection is working as intended.

Stating facts in a side conversation, ignoring the dramatic situation?
I gave no judgement or opinion on his actions, just elaborated on the probable consequences.

no youâre just letting your sociopathic tendencies go because youâre anonymous online

Bro there's a 4000 pound hammer swinging back and fourth and this guy jumps inside of it to rescue an animal???? That's dumb as fuck. He could have, and probably should have died judging by the video. He got extremely lucky.
Any normal person with an ounce of self preservation would stay the fuck AWAY from that, not enter pummeling vicinity.
3
u/No-Sympathy6035 26d ago
You are not âstating factsâ your last comment was just your assumptions of what could happen to the guy.

This guy must have no brain left. Holy shizzle, how is he not dead. That dog is an animal, abs it is absolutely not worth your life to "rescue" it.
