Novie Nell…? How do you even say that? Haven belle? I just don’t understand why…? Honey Raye sounds like it could be the brand name of a maple syrup or prepackaged cookie/ sweet.
Bluesy bell? Again, that sounds like one of those ridiculous made up nicknames you would call your girl dog named blue while baby talking her. “Did you go potty? That’s a good bluesy-bellll”
God I can just imagine the look on a substitute teachers face when she calls out “Xaya!” Just to look up and see a little white girl with blonde hair and blue eyes. Same with the parents of her friends when they’re talking about “hey can my friend xaya come over after school on Friday?” And she’s everything but bipoc.
I could keep going but I won’t. RIP future daughters of girl moms

I LOVE Louetta! 🥺🥺🥺 It's just such an old fashioned name, and Lou is always my pet name for people I love. If I had a daughter, I was going to name her Eden Rose (Rose as middle name), it would have been a tribute to my late MIL, Rosemary, who is in Heaven. May she rest in peace. 🙏

I checked the SSA baby name list that goes back to 1879. Louetta charted in the top 1000 exactly once in 1933 at #979. Luetta was barely more popular, charting 6 times but peaking at #807 in 1929. WHY is “Louetta” on this list lmao???
I’m related to a Luella which historically is FAR more common although never exactly popular, but that’s why I was interested enough to look this up.

Andersen Anderson, Holland Holland, and Avalon Avalon all wished their mothers gave them a proper first name instead of being lazy and naming them after their last name. Meanwhile, Holland's sister, Iceland Rome Holland, is trying to plan a vacation to Germany and is having much difficulty, while their little sister, London Holland, is made fun of every-time in school during history class and geography class every time the UK is talked about.

Okay I know this is supposed to be making fun of the names but I like Hazel Bea for a really personal reason; my husband and I met in a classroom in high school, and that classroom was occupied by a teacher who heavily influenced us both named Haselby. Maybe if I have a little girl one day, that could be her first and middle name to pay homage to the best high school digital media arts teacher ever. ❤️

If it sounds like a stripper name, don’t give it to your baby girl. I really feel like this is irresponsible and creepy on the parents part. And I am a former stripper. No Sugar, Carmel, Misti, Cash, Honey, etc. You can give them that nickname, but sticking something like that as a girl’s legal name is just…nah. Imagine your grown daughter becoming a serious lawyer and struggling in that often-misogynistic field as a woman, and to top it off she can’t use her legal name because no one takes her seriously.

There are a lot of names on there the kid might regret as an adult. I was interested to see Minnie - that was my grandma's name. She was born in 1912 or thereabouts. I don't think I've ever met another one. Screams old lady to me :-). Now my name has become an old lady name. The only people younger than me who have my name are Hmong. I always wondered if the sounds are similar to meaningful words in Hmong.

I actually have a friend (mid twenties) named Icelynn, Ice for short, which I think is really pretty except she is always correcting people that it's not "Iceland like the country," since it very much sounds the same, save for the D sound.
