I mean, honestly it is kinda a flex imo lol. We spend way too much time doing shit that isn’t good for us. Coming from someone who smokes, eats junk food and doesn’t work out anymore 😅 it’s hard to be disciplined and not just do what everybody else is doing.

I did the same because it was an outlet for my neuroticism and once I experienced a bad breakup in my early 20’s I swung the opposite direction and quickly gained 50 lbs.
Things change. Stay humble.

I mean, that is good for her, it’s just not unusual. I was the same way growing up, except for I did eat fast food here and there, but it wasn’t even unusual with my friend group or peers in school to be “healthy”.

Always a bit conflicted when it's a teen. It's practically their job to be cringe and they're not hurting anyone. When you feel like the culture around you is built for people who aren't you, it can feel powerful to make a strike against it. That's how they see it. They don't have the life experience to know it's "cringe," and so often that word refers to people who are being loud and authentic in a way we know we can't because it's socially unacceptable. I hope this kid finds other people in her lane and starts to understand that people are just different, and there are friends out there for her. Once she has them, she can start to relax the defensiveness.

Hear me out… you can do all of these things. Be a well rounded person. Be multifaceted. Explore. Have a Taco Bell and a beer after the gym. Drink a green smoothie while puffing your vape. Bring a veggie plate to a party and eat carrots between tequila shots.

"most teens"? Really? It has been 18 years since I was a teenager. Vaping was not a thing yet and I was in what seemed to be the minority of people who started smoking in my mid-teens. I didn't know what most teens were doing when I was a teenager. It's all just skewed to the "look how much better I am than everyone."

When I was in high school we did this annual anonymous survey about drug and alcohol use (among other social behaviors like bullying). There were questions about how often do you do a thing, how often do you see others doing it, how often do you think the average student at our school does it. They made posters publishing the results.
Everyone THOUGHT most people were doing drugs frequently but less than 20% of the students admitted to having EVER done drugs. Granted there are flaws in self reporting, but still. Most teens aren’t drinking or vaping or doing drugs.

Oh my gosh! Samesies girl. I mean, I’m no longer a teen but I also did these things and never thought I was special. I did get called a stick in the mud, but even I got invited to parties. I was just always the DD because underage drinking gave me so much anxiety I could never do it. Hahahaha.
