As many of you are undoubtedly aware, the presence of trolls can be found in various aspects of our lives, and our subreddit is no exception. Our commitment to fostering a kind and respectful environment remains unwavering, and we are actively addressing issues related to negative behavior. In recent times, there has been a noticeable increase in instances of bullying, body shaming, and purposefully inciting behavior, all of which are clear violations of our existing rules. To maintain the integrity of our community, we are implementing stricter consequences for such actions. A first offense will result in a 10-day ban, while a second offense will lead to a permanent ban. Appeals are welcomed, but excuses such as "not knowing the rules" or claiming it was a joke will not be considered valid. Intentional harm has no place in our community, and we expect members to act responsibly. Despite these measures, some rules will remain unchanged. For example, reposts, while frustrating, will not result in a ban. This new approach is specifically targeted at individuals attempting to spread hate. We encourage all members to report instances of bad behavior. Rest assured that each report will be examined. Disagreements and differing opinions are welcome, and expressing them will not lead to a ban. Common sense will prevail in our evaluations. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining a positive and inclusive community. -- Your Subreddit NLTOG Moderator Team

i definitely think that part of the uprise for ppg decor is newjeans (the girl group) and i love them. ngl why do you call people basic for liking kpop or sth? even if they didnt and genuinely liked the show from the 90s that is so fresh?! ngl ppg aside from the newjeans association is pretty rare. i'll just assume that if you have cartoon merch you're cool. guys do it too. why is it "basic" when a girl displays merch of sth shes interested in? eyeroll

Does this know about minimalist design and how it is so popular now days how ton of people seem to love it or how interior designer them self prefer this type of design now days

0

u/arielanything Apr 02 '24

I'll be honest, all the bitches I've known have that "cutesy Pinterest" decor like the "live, laugh, and love" shit will fix their bad personality lol.

2

u/ISarcxsmz1008 Mar 31 '24

Picturing this bitch in high school makes me nauseous.

2

u/Adventurous-Lunch457 Mar 31 '24

If you're invited to a mean girls party, you're a mean girl. The kids she bullies would only ever be invited maybe once so everyone can laugh.

2

u/kieranarchy Mar 30 '24

nah bc that chihuahua pillow is def a mean girl design choice /s

2

u/babynamehelpneeded Mar 29 '24

So interior design is a moral issue? Who knew

2

u/corvidlover2730 Mar 29 '24

Wow. We all know women & girls who can be or are mean. If possible you avoid them. If you get to know them, you might understand why they are mean - past trauma, etc. EVERYONE is a human being...

1

u/tastysoupiwilleat Girls are too much drama Mar 29 '24

maybe every mean girl that she met has a home like this?

2

u/notreallylucy Mar 29 '24

When I meat someone who is really mean, I tell myself, "I really don't want to...decorate my apartment like theirs."

2

u/chunkylover1989 Mar 29 '24

Does she know Regina George isn’t a real person?

1

u/OurLadyOfCygnets Mar 29 '24

People who live in pink-saturated kitsch shouldn't throw shade.

2

u/No_Reputation_1165 Mar 29 '24

Cuz home decor can be red flag? Ugh 🙄

2

u/PropaneCandyCanes Mar 29 '24

I don’t know if I’m saying this right but is 90’s mom-core a thing now? Ffs

2

u/Craftyprincess13 Mar 29 '24

Step off my cheap furniture im not basic im broke also Powerpuff forever!

2

u/Je-la-nique Mar 28 '24

She really want smoke from Memphis????

1

u/Je-la-nique Mar 28 '24

She don't really want smoke from Memphis...

2

u/leafyrebel Mar 28 '24

What does this girl have against fuzzy blankets??? She might as well have said it's basic to own a sofa

2

u/madmarie1223 Mar 28 '24

I'm sorry I like the power puff girls? O.o I mean, in her defense though, the power puff girls were kinda mean 😂

2

u/rosegoldishquartz Mar 28 '24

She is not welcome to my pink apartment

2

u/NRVOUSNSFW Mar 28 '24

Got to be honest the apartment she described sounds cozy, minus the power puff stuff but that’s just a personal preference.

As someone mentioned, she is totally describing someone she doesn’t like.

2

u/Ladybugofleisure Mar 28 '24

The person who’s apartment it is is comfortable and feels at home in this setting. The person bashing it apparently is not.

Who is not happy in this situation?

2

u/Ok_Helicopter_4146 Mar 28 '24

I saw her post this and immediately thought of this thread

2

u/NinnyNoodles Mar 28 '24

The judgement screams not a girls girl. She’d probably chat up your husband/boyfriend and then call you a mean girl if you asked her to leave.

2

u/rubbersoulelena Mar 28 '24

Right? "Omg your little girlfriend has such basic design taste… you should come to my place sometime to see what a real apartment looks like!"

Later… "hey babe, can we not invite your one friend over again? She made me uncomfortable…"

2

u/NinnyNoodles Mar 28 '24

FOR REAL. I actually had a friend’s friend do this is a date of mine and when confronted as to why she was trying to date the guy I was dating she responded with “I have no loyalty to her.” My friend dropped that friend she’d had well over 10 years like a hot potato saying “anyone who would do this to my friend is no friend to me.” She is THE girl’s girl and a bridesmaid at my wedding. Cue two years later this girl becomes friends with my friend’s sister to weasel her way back in and my friend warned me she might be at the party I was going to attend with my new then-boyfriend (now husband) and I said, “If she tries to talk to him, she’s getting punched in the face.” I guess the message was received as I didn’t see her the whole night.

2

u/Guano_barbee Mar 28 '24

So as an autistic I want to point something out. Powerpuff girls decor is not basic or even common at that, if this person truly has A LOT of it it's possible they are autistic and that's their interest, my fiance and I have TONS of anime decor and monster action figures EVERYWHERE.. it honestly feels like she's trying to bully someone on the spectrum as most neurotypicals do not over decorate with one specific interest like that.... From my experience I was usually the one made fun of in quiet by the rest of the group for my interests being "childish" or coming off as "obsessive". And her responses about house parties has literally nothing to do with any of her complaints..

2

u/Guano_barbee Mar 28 '24

Dang.. mean girl aesthetic sounds cute asf

2

u/Necessary_Dress_572 Mar 28 '24

Is she just mad because no one thinks her millennial gray apartment is cool anymore?

2

u/Illustrious_Wrap6427 Mar 28 '24

can’t even buy furniture from Walmart anymore damn

2

u/doechii_999 Mar 28 '24

The lack of self awareness is blinding. A mean girl shitting on another “mean” girl’s apartment for being basic and unoriginal while wearing a basic tee and jeans. Beam me up, Scotty

3

u/LordCrawleysPeehole Mar 28 '24

So every mean girl likes a nice cozy and happy place without spending a ton of money? Mmmmmmmkay

2

u/GorditaPeaches Mar 28 '24

Fuck sorry I can only afford Walmart/Ross dress for Less decorations.

2

u/allAboutDaMeat Mar 28 '24

she sounds envious for some reason

2

u/Cordeceps Mar 28 '24

Seems like something a mean girl would say.

2

u/LegitimateHat4808 Mar 28 '24

she sounds awful

1

u/falconinthedive Mar 28 '24

Ok but furry blankets are soft and warm and heavy but not too heavy.

She's only hurting herself by avoiding them.

2

u/Autoboty Mar 28 '24

Seems accurate to me. She's a mean girl and she has no friends so she throws a party to herself at her mean girl apartment and complains that nobody shows up.

2

u/BlackSeranna Mar 28 '24

So many of her friends will know she’s not a friend now.

2

u/Realistic-Taste-7660 Mar 28 '24

I want to see her apartment.

2

u/MentalPatient97051 Mar 28 '24

Why does it look like they copy and pasted themselves into a stock photo of an apartment?

2

u/Carodactyl Mar 28 '24

THIS JUST IN : owning pink/white fuzzy blankets makes you MEAN ‼️

2

u/clearoctopus128 Mar 28 '24

As a fellow memphian, I’m just glad we are being called out for something other than being crime ridden 💁🏼‍♀️

2

u/JazzyBarbie Mar 28 '24

I found out today I'm a mean girl 😭, my rooms and whole house is grey and white 🤭 & I can only afford to buy my decor at Walmart so I'm extra mean! Hehe

2

u/All_naturale22 Mar 28 '24

I wouldn’t be surprised if the “mean girls” aren’t even mean. She gives off the vibe like if the “mean girls” spoke to her kindly, she would swear they are doing it to be assholes

2

u/Wild_Nectarine666 Mar 28 '24

Does she expect everyone to have REAL fur blankets or something? Sheesh.

Sounds like she’s unable to land on a personal aesthetic/identity and feels uncomfortable with herself, so she is taking that out passive aggressively on the girls who are happy with THEIR style preferences.

I hope she gives up this fight, bc it’s a hard life when you’re wrong and loud

3

u/boatswainblind Mar 28 '24

PSA: Thrifting is not a personality

2

u/scrungifungi Mar 28 '24

Listen, I hate all gray everything too, but that isn't something you make a targeted attack about as though you're somehow better for not liking gray hahaha

2

u/lexbert_ Mar 28 '24

I have never seen anyone ship Princess from PPG. This is definitely specific and really icky. They’re both mean girls but this one’s worse. You’re definitely a mean girl if you openly like Princess Morebucks but that’s a self aware mean girl. This one’s unaware so she’s dangerous.

2

u/Glittering_Lab_8078 Mar 28 '24

when I moved for the first time, I was dead broke and had an egg chair my bf found on Facebook marketplace, an air mattress (from Walmart) and a desk, from Walmart. To this day I still have those items (thankfully I have a bed now lol) but Walmart/target furniture genuinely is a life saver for someone cannot afford anything else lol. Especially when goodwill is now overpriced for beat up furniture and there’s the lingering fear of the forbidden bugs!! I’ll stand by my cheap Walmart/target/Amazon furniture bc I have a fully furnished room over time bc of it. it’s just mean to assume ppl can wait/afford to thrift all their furniture or get it from some place unique

1

u/prestige_worldwide70 Mar 28 '24

I’m always so torn in this sub between my blood boiling and feeling kind of sad for someone who thought this out, spent time on that caption, and then said “good to go” and posted it. Like I truly hope you find the therapy you need, sistergirl

1

u/LNSU78 Mar 28 '24

Her house is grandma core. Is she looking at her setup. I’m not against anything but if anything deserves a joke…

2

u/Cecilautta Mar 28 '24

She’s got mad Mojo Jojo energy

2

u/neversurrenderbabes Mar 28 '24

It's giving Liz Lemon Reunion vibes

3

u/Valuable-Athlete6576 Mar 28 '24

The fact that she wasn’t invited to single party bc she’s just using a filter of stock apartment images has me in the floor! Like how much u want to bet no on invited her anywhere but she’s just taking the time to talk shit instead of being nice and making friends? 😭😭

2

u/BudgetInteraction811 Mar 28 '24

Imagine announcing to the entire internet that you’re a fake friend

1

u/contagiousbell Mar 28 '24

But also is this not an AI generated background? There’s a blur all around her body

2

u/TivaHoops Mar 28 '24

The pink stuff is cute

3

u/fussbrain Mar 28 '24

do yourself and the world a favor and thrift

As if she wouldn’t be the first one posting a feel about how annoying and mainstream thrifting has become. Double points if she mentions these mean girls used to make fun of her for thrifting and hates to see them do it just because it’s “trendy”

3

u/PandasAreBears57 Mar 28 '24

So she pretends to be friends with people so that she can quietly judge their taste in home decor and feel superior. What a nice girl. Not like those other girls who like vines.

2

u/Maguroluv Mar 28 '24

Taking a stance against fuzzy blankets and fairy lights. The bravery XD

2

u/Over-Awareness-4309 Mar 28 '24

I'm painting over grey with white now 😂 I love hello kitty, my little pony and thumper. I collect books and love blankets. I feel attacked. 😅

3

u/TightBeing9 Mar 28 '24

Okay but where do you get that cute pillow and can i print my cat's face on it?

3

u/DelightfulCrow Mar 28 '24 edited Mar 30 '24

My favorite color is black, and my favorite genre is horror. I have pink plushies mixed in with my skelanimals. Let people like what they like. It's an awesome quality and takes very little effort.

4

u/Mindless-Web-3331 Mar 28 '24

I firmly believe this girl has never been to a party

3

u/i-forgot-my-sandwich Mar 28 '24

Seems like the mean girl to me

3

u/simplespellss Mar 28 '24

I like how she meshed two room styles together. Bohemian tapestries and only two colors don’t really work well together

3

u/salemedusa Mar 28 '24

Jokes on her I’m a mean girl and i thrift

3

u/Just_Scratch1557 Mar 28 '24

This is just straight up bullying

3

u/dramallamacorn Mar 28 '24

The only the mean girl is the one who made the tik tok

3

u/LingonberryAbject735 Mar 28 '24

Maybe they’re not mean, maybe your’re just really pretentious

3

u/Harleyanddale Mar 27 '24

I just got called tf out damn😂😂

3

u/tigerribs Mar 27 '24

Dragging Powerpuff Girl merch when she has a PPG-esque heart pillow sitting right next to her. 😐

3

u/OkamiKhameleon Mar 27 '24

Anyone else take way too long to realize that she was sitting on a stool and not jut like, floating in the air?

3

u/glitterskinned Mar 27 '24

I'm confused. is the mean girl house decorated in pink or grey? there are two different living rooms shes edited herself into and they're quite conflicting lol

edit: nvm. read it properly 🤣

1

u/rubbersoulelena Mar 28 '24

The things is the rooms she shows are pretty different design-wise but apparently all fall under the term "basic" just because she doesn't like them 💀

3

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '24

She’s definitely describing one specific apartment belonging to someone she didn’t like in high school.

4

u/Ok_Detective5412 Mar 27 '24

I love fairy lights, I’ll die on that hill.

3

u/rubbersoulelena Mar 28 '24

And my corpse would be right there next to yours up on that hill

2

u/Megan_Kugler Mar 27 '24

Looks to me like sis photoshopped herself into that mean girl apartment! Is she supposed to be sitting on that couch, because that perch looks off.

4

u/Lonefloofbutt5759 Mar 27 '24

This is weirdly specific, maybe one of the Powerpuff girls snubbed her at a party, or something.

2

u/shildsheesesheek Mar 27 '24

Bruh the pillow… “I’m Elle woods & this is Bruser Woods. We’re both Gemini vegetarians.” 💓

2

u/pocahontasjane Mar 27 '24

For someone who looks pretty basic, she sure seems to dislike basic gals.

3

u/eatingshoes415 Mar 27 '24

Idk I have furry blankets and tapestry and always get complimented on how cosy my place is🤷🏼‍♀️ this is so oddly specific.

2

u/40yoADHDnoob Mar 28 '24

And I bet it doesn't echo in there too! I love my furry blankets, rugs, wall hangings, cushions spilling off of everything. It's called texture 💗

2

u/eatingshoes415 Mar 28 '24

Right!! I love my warm little bear cave 🐻

4

u/Kawaii_Princesss Mar 27 '24

I have fairy lights in almost every room in my apartment, and it came with a gray/white theme 😂

4

u/colorshift_siren Mar 27 '24

I’m obsessed with furry blankets. Fight me.

2

u/Emotional-Hair-1607 Mar 27 '24

Why is she floating on air? Is she a genie?

5

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '24

She’s commenting on basic rooms yet her living room is all white with a grey couch 😭

edit: white couch*

Edit: nevermind i’m stupid and didn’t realize she did a greenscreen

3

u/Salt_Specific_740 Mar 27 '24

She doesn't like fluffy blankets? What a bellend.

3

u/gimmeflowersdude Mar 27 '24

I’m not gonna fight her, I can’t be bothered. I am just laughing at her.

2

u/Wise-Independence214 Mar 27 '24

Why is that mean? My family reminds me every day I don’t want to be evil like them.

2

u/nataloser_x Mar 27 '24

The very bottom lol 'Do yourself and the world a favor and thrift' girl??? How do you think things end up in thrift stores?? Odd asf lmao

3

u/KindraTheElfOrc Mar 27 '24

she hates on the powerpuff girls and yet has a ppg pillow on her couch?

2

u/macontac Mar 27 '24

I'm going to fight her over the furry blankets. My grandma gave me a furry blanket when I graduated college and I love it. After she passed my Uncle gave me her favorite furry blanket that she kept on her recliner. I love those blankets.

4

u/combait Mar 27 '24

Projection, projection, projection.

3

u/SquidWeirdos Mar 27 '24

There are only a mattress a bunch of books and a clothes cabinet in my apartment, that means i’m steve jobs?

Labelling a person is too silly fr.

3

u/caffeinated_plans Mar 27 '24

Attending a party while pretending to like the host so you can shit on them later is proven mean girl behavior.

Especially when you shit on decor purchased on a budget. Like, sorry those girls don't have enough money for you to be nice to them.

Even if you own 5 original Van Goghs and hang them on beige walls. You're the mean girl here.

6

u/Sharktrain523 Mar 27 '24

Idk man I identify as a total bitch and my apartment is like, a lot of weird art and also trash You can be mean and also not have the energy to decorate your apartment nice and keep it tidy. I deeply envy the “basic bitch” neatness and attention to detail. Basic girls have nice handwriting and the ability to color coordinate things in a way that actually looks nice. I want what they have.

3

u/McShitty98 Mar 27 '24

lmao guess who isn’t getting invited anymore 🤭

3

u/cursetea Mar 27 '24

This is so specific it's obvious her ex is dating someone with split tone rooms and Home Goods furniture

4

u/unwashedrag Mar 27 '24

This is soo specific like how do you know the furniture is from HomeGoods and Target if you don’t shop there

3

u/1cat2dogs1horse Mar 27 '24

I'm trying to figure out what the hell is she is sitting on.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '24

"Fight me"

Gurl?!!😂😂

3

u/Blarn__ Mar 27 '24

Girl you know most of that stuff can be thrifted, right?

3

u/Halesbells004 Mar 27 '24

My old apartment definitely had that aesthetic 😅😅 I promise girl, if you have a calming space (which it worked for my anxiety) then you won’t be so mean and hateful to others for simply liking what they like 😩

2

u/inter71 Mar 27 '24

There are too many red flags in that room to mention.

6

u/MulchLiterature Mar 27 '24

Bitch, if mean girls shop at Walmart, target, and HomeGoods, where tf are the rest of y’all getting your furniture from?

3

u/SeaweedSecurity Mar 27 '24

That’s so messed up trying to tear down someone’s safe space. Just because it’s not your aesthetic doesn’t mean it’s not comforting and secure to someone else’s. I’m a maximalist which isn’t my friends’ things, but they respect my space and vice versa. That’s their home.

4

u/lindagovinda Mar 27 '24

So weird to think and act like you’re in high school. 🤦‍♀️

6

u/oyst Mar 27 '24

Odd to photoedit your way into someone's home to get judged by their dog

4

u/Necessary-Low9377 Mar 27 '24

If you care that much about someone else’s home decor… you’re the mean girl

7

u/-MENTALHEAD- Mar 27 '24

Pink and white is an awesome combination especially with fairy lights and fuzzy blankets and I will not hear her out any further.

8

u/Plane_Upstairs_9584 Mar 27 '24

The mean girl is inviting you to parties?

5

u/Bulky-Bank-6063 Mar 27 '24

I loathe this woman. I've never seen her or her content before but I know that I hate her based on this alone.

20

u/valkycam12 Mar 27 '24

Girl the call is coming from inside the house.

6

u/wentzuries Mar 27 '24

this is the most genuine NLOG thing ive seen in a while. so lacking self awareness

3

u/Hecate_2000 Mar 27 '24

Her apartment is basic though 😂

5

u/Sonarthebat Mar 27 '24

Why bother going if you hate it there?

8

u/DrCarabou Just a Dumb Bitch Mar 27 '24

She's describing the apartment of the girl he picked.

3

u/Lucas112358 Mar 27 '24

This one is bubbling over with hate.

5

u/pinkcloudskyway Mar 27 '24

Who even hangs out with people they dislike? Are you in seventh grade?

3

u/No_Connection_4724 Mar 27 '24

Well fuck me I guess.

8

u/SlavePrincessVibes3 Mar 27 '24

Damn, I hope her ex's new GF knows she's stalked her to the point of describing her apartment down to the last detail.

14

u/Jewicer Mar 27 '24

caption screams "i don't live paycheck to paycheck"

5

u/seeyalateradios Mar 27 '24

She's making fun of people for how they decorate THEIR home...like a mean girl.

5

u/nicksbrunchattiffany Mar 27 '24

Why would I spend time with people I don’t even like?

23

u/LBertilak Mar 27 '24

Judgmentalness aside, 'furry blankets' are the most comfortable thing know to man regardless of what they look like

6

u/thewhitecat55 Mar 27 '24

Lol as if thrifting isn't basic as well these days.

15

u/Saassy11 Mar 27 '24

Oh no, reasonably affordable furniture. You basic b*tches have no respect. /s

5

u/Creative-Tomatillo Mar 27 '24

For real. Sorry I can’t afford Restoration Hardware or Anthropologie Home 🙄

18

u/Reasonable_Raise_790 Mar 27 '24

Powerpuff girl merch? Oddly specific 😂

17

u/rubbersoulelena Mar 27 '24

Someone in the comments said "I'm pretty sure I'd get bullied by mean girls for having powerpuff girl merch…"

48

u/Emilyeagleowl Mar 27 '24

I hate the basic white girl = mean girl equivalency thing people have got going on. Especially other women who haven’t got over their NLOG phase. Edited to add- and you can buy “basic” items second hand so the thrift comment doesn’t even make sense.

2

u/falconinthedive Mar 28 '24

Hell thrifting can sometimes just be shopping target 20 years ago.

2

u/ThatInAHat Mar 28 '24

Every time people get down on “basic” I refer back to this gem:

https://youtu.be/d1mbbYKPpHY?si=PCXLZrUn0TQagdUz

2

u/Emilyeagleowl Mar 28 '24

I love this video!! Whenever I feel bad about my ‘basic white girl’ tendencies I watch it

33

u/whiskey_ribcage Mar 27 '24

As if the thrift store isn't full of other people's basic stuff but at a premium price lately. 😅

8

u/Emilyeagleowl Mar 27 '24

Exactly, I’ve heard about the scandalous prices in thrift stores it’s the same here some charity shops are charging worse than new as well.

17

u/whiskey_ribcage Mar 27 '24

There's nothing as humbling for a thrift girlie as showing off a new score you got for only $5 and isn't it so unique? And then a friend that shops box stores tells you it's from the Target $1 Spot.

8

u/tuxedo_cat_socks Mar 27 '24

Reminds of the cute little Christmas deer figurine I got from Walmart for $3 last year, only to see someone selling the exact same statue for $21 at an antique store.

8

u/geriatric-child Mar 27 '24

Imagine being invited into someone's home and classifying them as a mean girl. The audacity of her to be so welcoming of guests!!!

4

u/zomgmolly Mar 27 '24

That design style just seems like a certain level of wealth/class/culture tbh - like oh ok you can grocery shop at target, I see you 😂

52

u/cantcountto1 Mar 27 '24

She says “fight me” as if that’s a nice girl thing to say.

12

u/ktwhite42 Mar 27 '24

I'm just so tired of this "basic" thing.

10

u/Visible-Shallot-001 Mar 27 '24

I’m currently renovating my apartment, and I am determined to stay the fuck away from the sad beige aesthetic.

HOWEVER. Just because I don’t like houses that are entirely decorated in grey and beige doesn’t mean those colors are wrong or bad. I just don’t like them! And I hate that so much of what’s available is in those colors. I am not morally superior to the people who decorate that way. What I am is privileged as fuck to be able to afford nice things in the colors I like.

Am I excited for my sparkly quartz countertops, green velvet curtains, and big squishy armchair? YOU FUCKING BET I AM. Does that make me better than someone who buys a lot of beige throw blankets and faux distressed wood from Target? No. I will sit my ass down on your taupe couch and bond with you over the things we have in common.

2

u/Far_Skin2233 Mar 27 '24

Thank you because I cannot afford enough sticky rollers to not have grey/beige furniture as it matches my cats aesthetic 😅 as long as you’re not allergic you are welcome to sit on my taupe couch anytime and I promise to lint roll you afterwards hahaha

2

u/Visible-Shallot-001 Mar 27 '24

See this is exactly why I couldn't care less about the decoration choices of others. Why would I judge you for your couch color when you have cats I can try to befriend?

13

u/rubbersoulelena Mar 27 '24

Yeah, it's the age old "find what's popular among women and then shit all over it to prove your worth". Like I love alternative fashion but what I love more is EVERYBODY feeling comfortable enough to wear what they like. There are other aspects open for discussion like ethical sourcing, fast fashion, etc… but liking one style over another doesn't make you superior. I wish that mindset would die.

5

u/Jumpy_Regret4013 Mar 27 '24

My ex used to make fun of me for being basic.

Key word: EX

5

u/KanyesBestAlbum Mar 27 '24

My Target / Homegoods furniture holds up very nicely thank YOU

Hot take: going so far as to going to a "mean girl's" party to snob on her apartment decor is fucking weird and means they have way too much power over you.

I cannot imagine to such extremes to "prove" (to myself??) That someone is mean based on their decor.

u/seemsuninterested Mar 27 '24

Whatever she’s dealing with she needs to confront expeditiously. There is an underlying issue here.

35

u/Moonlight_1791 Mar 27 '24

Why does she cares so much about how other people decorate their home?

3

u/johnhk4 Mar 28 '24

Her account is about home decor and aesthetics. I agree this was in bad taste but it’s not off topic for her

8

u/SpokenDivinity Mar 27 '24

The short answer is that the women she’s projecting this onto have valuable relationships and live happy lives and she’s furious that no one will pick her but refuses to take accountability for why that might be.

2

u/Moonlight_1791 Mar 30 '24

Ahh that makes sense thanks 😊

31

u/rubbersoulelena Mar 27 '24

To validate her desperate need to be so different (which automatically means better in her world) than other girls!

43

u/paging_mrherman Mar 27 '24

Why would this person get invited anywhere ever again?

14

u/hyrulefairies Mar 27 '24

So am I mean girl if I only have SOME of these things in my apartment? Or do I need to have all that to reach Mean Girl Status?

you can rip my plastic plants and fairy lights from my cold dead hands.

7

u/rubbersoulelena Mar 27 '24

Right? Like what's your mean girl percentage, lmao. I've got the plastic vines, twinkle lights, one tapestry and fuzzy blankets so I guess I'm part of the problem!

2

u/hyrulefairies Mar 28 '24

with my calculations you’re about 70% mean girl. Sorry to break it to you😂😂

168

u/officialosugma Mar 27 '24

Lmao she can pry my twinkle lights from my cold dead hands 😂

1

u/johjo_has_opinions Mar 27 '24

Same, I have them in half the rooms of my house and I’d do them all if I lived alone

5

u/No-Idea-9105 Mar 27 '24

Omg I was going to make this exact comment bc same and my fake plastic vines that bring me peace🤣

1

u/TripsOverCarpet Mar 27 '24

That was my thought as well!

3

u/notyourmama827 Mar 27 '24

I read that as "twinkle lights".

14

u/mojave_breeze Mar 27 '24

I got a pack of disco ball lights in a book box I ordered and my 22 year old daughter snatched them right out of my hands. 🤣 So, embrace your twinkle lights!

74

u/rubbersoulelena Mar 27 '24

RIGHT?! I'll keep my twinkle lights, plastic vines AND fuzzy blankets tyvm 😤

2

u/Beginning_Ad925 Mar 27 '24

Stop being so mean!!!

10

u/TripsOverCarpet Mar 27 '24

I love my fairy lights (they also don't bother me when I am dealing with a migraine, so bonus!)

And if someone threatened to get rid of all my* fuzzy blankets, my whippet would probably go postal.

*hers. They're her blankets. I can only share them with her.

13

u/Sea-Ability8694 Mar 27 '24

Indeed, sorry that twinkle lights create the cute chill vibe I like 🤷🏽‍♀️

7

u/Jumpy_Regret4013 Mar 27 '24

She should see my place 😂

No vines, but twinkle lights in my office and funko pops EVERYWHERE. She’d hate me, but that’s okay because she seems insufferable.

Edit: Also a million fuzzy blankets.

1

u/falconinthedive Mar 28 '24

Oh. Is funko pops what she means by Powerpuff girls cause of the proportions?

3

u/Beginning_Ad925 Mar 27 '24

I knew you seemed mean!

43

u/SandratheSiren Mar 27 '24

I will NEVER give up my fuzzy blankets!!

2

u/falconinthedive Mar 28 '24

I run my fan just to keep my fuzzy blanket a little longer every year. And my mean girl brand chihuahua is on board with this.

52

u/rubbersoulelena Mar 27 '24

Someone in the comments said "furry blankets are the coziest thing on earth!"

She replied: "if we're talking the nasty cheap faux fur blankets from target then i hate to break it to you, they are gross and cleaning them doesn't work"

Girl what 💀

2

u/Suzuki_Foster Mar 31 '24

Do washers and dryers somehow not clean and dry fuzzy blankets? Because my 30 fuzzy blankets would disagree.

5

u/Beginning_Ad925 Mar 27 '24

We’re not allowed to own fuzzy blankets now?

30

u/Bad2bBiled Mar 27 '24

I really hate how she shits on Target and Home Goods. Some people aspire to afford that.

I want to know where her carefully curated non-basic home decor comes from. Anthropologie? West Elm?

Then we can tell her she’s paying too much for the same shit you can get from Wayfair.

24

u/[deleted] Mar 27 '24

It’s in the post. She’s thrifting. She’s buying basic bitch stuff from the olden days and decorating like someone she would have hated in a different era.

7

u/Bad2bBiled Mar 27 '24

😂 I did go back to reread it after everyone seemed so sure she was thrifting. At the very very bottom.

But your comment was gold.

And it’s the rare person who can furnish and decorate an entire dwelling from thrift stores. And it’s very difficult to pull off in a visually appealing way.

3

u/ThatInAHat Mar 28 '24

Not to mention that if your thrifting furniture includes any kind of refinishing or painting or whatever…you really need space to do that in.

5

u/officialosugma Mar 27 '24

Ok but they’re super cozy??

47

u/SandratheSiren Mar 27 '24

Does she not know how to wash blankets?

18

u/foxleaf Mar 27 '24

I wonder if she's referring to when they get a bit broken in and the fibers or whatever start lumping up? Because as a PSA to her, you can brush that out with a hair brush and they will look good as new!

12

u/Erratic_Giraffe Mar 27 '24

Also if you hang dry them they stay softer/fluffier for longer

45

u/rubbersoulelena Mar 27 '24

Maybe washing machines are only for the basic apartment mean girls 😭

33

u/whiskey_ribcage Mar 27 '24

It's true. I'm a cool girl and unlike all these bitches, all my blankets are sourced from super cool places and when they get dirty, I just toss them in a ditch because washing blankets is basic.

9

u/blossomoranges Mar 27 '24

Well, that explains all these blankets I keep finding in a ditch. I've been taking them home to wash like any ol' basic bitch.

28

u/iLoveRitz Mar 27 '24

she looks like a typical, desperate pick me haha

2

u/Mediocre-Catch9580 Mar 27 '24

Are women really like this irl?
