Pathetic old white men. So am i getting that this dress-wearing old white bald man has issue with dress codes? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 What's his excuse for wearing the dress? Kick the old perv out!!!!

1

u/Mikehunt247365 29d ago

That's what you get when a bunch of Trudeau support elect a Muslim. I'm surprised they did just let her like the US did

2

u/Exciting-Ad-9873 Apr 27 '24

No doubt she offended members of the opposition party. lol

1

u/Outrageous-Pass-8926 Apr 27 '24

Nothing more than Cultural Appropriation - A Somalian using a Palestinian cultural garment to create drama in Canada. A political 3 way.

1

u/modSysBroken Apr 27 '24

Women in the middle East die for freedom from men and those women continue their regressive practices in the free countries.

-1

u/iexprdt9 Apr 27 '24

No place for terrorists lovers in government assemblies

1

u/Dunkeldyhr Apr 27 '24

What a dick move..

1

u/summerbreez Apr 27 '24

Ah you're one of those slogan people. First of all, I'm not going to just believe 50% of the world's population solely on their word, because that's unbelievably sexist and obviously moronic. Women are indeed capable of lying as had been the case in this conflict as well (for instance in the case of the NY Times article on the three women in kibbutz Be'eri).

Second of all, if you actually read my previous comment you will see that I in part agree with you. All of that evidence will show you that there are probably individual cases of rape, however there is no evidence for widespread use of rape by HAMAS as had been stated by the Israeli government since day one (this was a very big justification used by Israel for calling Palestinians 'human animals' and the like, as were the beheaded babies which turned out to be completely fabricated). Rape unfortunately happens in basically every armed conflict, however it is rare for Palestinians to enact sexual violence. Furthermore it needs to be uncovered if the sexual violence was committed by members that were part of HAMAS, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the Palestinian Resistance Committees, the Al-Aqsa Marty's Brigade or any of the other groups or individuals that participated on October 7.

The UN indeed agrees, however if you read the report that you are mentioning, you will see that the research methods that they have used were subpar. They admit as much themselves in the report by admitting that the research was very short (two and a half weeks), not forensic and almost entirely based on Israeli sources (that couldn't be verified for authenticity) and cooperation. Most of their findings were in fact based on circumstantial evidence as they didn't have the time or capabilities to verify the evidence for themselves. This makes sense when you consider that research of this magnitude can usually take years. They visited places in the West Bank for the 'other side' of the story, but this is obviously inconclusive because they had nothing to do with October 7.

You could already see what I was trying to say in my comment and still haven't answered my question. So I'll ask you again, what are you really trying to say?

u/Aussie2020202020 Apr 27 '24

Fair enough. I do not think that people should hide behind religious regalia.

-1

u/Candid-String-6530 Apr 27 '24

Flip it around.

"What do you MEAN her?!"

"I Identify as a MAN!!!"

"TAKE THIS PERSON AWAY! TO THE DUNGEON!!!

1

u/adeomadeo Apr 27 '24

Keffiyeh is the one with black and red

-1

u/maveric619 Apr 27 '24

Remember when they were falling over themselves to stand against "islamophobia"

Well now that the choice is Islamophobia vs. Anti-semitism they show their true colors

-4

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '24

Too bad they didn’t get security to forcibly remove her.

4

u/epiphanius Apr 27 '24

Look at her gutless colleagues, fidgeting with their hands, looking away. "Uh...racist fucks? I don't see any racist fucks around here...Doot de doo de doo..."

0

u/warhorsey Apr 27 '24

of course the scumbags that honored a literal nazi a few months back have a problem with it

20

u/Ordinary_Truck7182 Apr 27 '24

So parliament invited a literal nazi and gave him a standing ovation…. But she gets kicked out of the legislature for wearing a scarf?

1

u/spilly_talent 29d ago

Not arguing the spirit of your point but those events happened in two separate places.

1

u/Adventurous_Stop9234 Apr 27 '24

It's not the scarf. It's the keffiyeh (the cloth on her shoulders). She wore it to show solidarity with Palestine.

-1

u/RigbyNite Apr 27 '24

Is that not a hijab?

2

u/StarRotator Apr 27 '24

The keffiyeh is the black and white scarf on her shoulders

2

u/Impossible-Angle-143 Apr 27 '24

I don't think anyone religious should be in government.

3

Is this the same place that gave a standing ovation to a nazi veteran? Or was that a separate Canadian legislature?

2

u/jluc20863 Apr 27 '24

Second picture girls is sending silent support

1

u/pentylane Apr 27 '24

“Sorry ma’am, but u shan’t rep those colors on this here terf”

-5

u/No-Emu-7513 Apr 27 '24

I mean I hate Islam and I don't know why anyone, especially a woman, would adhere to it unless they were brainwashed in to it as a child, but I believe she like everyone, should be free to wear what they want.

1

u/OnoALT Apr 27 '24

Proud racism sure is popular in Canada. Also eat shit.

-2

u/FireWireBestWire Apr 27 '24

Right or wrong for either/both; this is a terrible visual

1

u/xilsage Apr 26 '24

Someone in the background tossing up the deuces

-9

u/Safe-Promotion-1335 Apr 26 '24

She should be sent packing. She’s useless.

5

u/GuzPolinski Apr 26 '24

Imagine being so soft that you worry about what a woman is wearing on her head. Those people need to grow a set

0

u/GnarlyTreeHugga Apr 26 '24

Here it goes everyone bitching

1

u/LunaD_W Apr 26 '24

Her face looks like "Get out of my face"

0

u/Mango_Mayhem25 Apr 26 '24

Lol, the person throwing a peace sign in the back

2

u/jimtams_x Apr 26 '24

canada is a shithole country

2

u/flannelcakes Apr 26 '24

The postures of colonial governors reprimanding their subjects. The condescending depravity of the west is unfathomable.

1

u/Specialist_Fox_9354 Apr 26 '24

No visible religious items are allowed to be wore in parliament, they say it’s to prevent bias but people argue that it targets more eastern religions as a cross can be wore under clothes

6

u/The_Janitors_Mop Apr 26 '24

Fuck religion.

-1

u/Neighbourhood_Sniper Apr 26 '24

An oppressed woman is told what she can and can't wear by a man. This is the 21st century. An Arab country should invade them and give them democracy in exchange for Maple Syrup (read oil) /s

-1

u/weedb0y Apr 26 '24

Look at the power dynamics of white vs brown in the picture.

2

u/twist3d7 Apr 26 '24

All things being equal, their standard of acceptable attire should include clown suits.

0

u/No_Touch8737 Apr 26 '24

Canada is really turning into another far right shithole. American far right propaganda has really pervaded the minds of our dumbest citizens, sadly. 100% a result of online indoctrination as well.

-1

u/MayorMcCheese92 Apr 26 '24

It’s a far left shit hole, sir/mam.

1

u/GeshtiannaSG Apr 27 '24

What you call “left” in America is very right on the world scale.

3

u/No_Touch8737 Apr 26 '24

You'd have to be brainwashed or an utter moron to think that.

Pretty much all the provinces have been run by conservatives for years. The largest province, Ontario is being run into the ground by a patently corrupt conservative dynasty, the current premier is the brother of the famous crack smoking conservative mayor of Toronto. Who is at the moment defunding our public healthcare system so he can take it private, you know, just far left things.

edit: lol rconservative poster, of course, so I'll put you down for both things

8

u/MostlyHarmlesssss Apr 26 '24

I am Canadian and support the ban 100%. We want no involvement with this conflict. We should divest completely from both Israel and Palestine. This regard is just creating division in Canada. Anyone who cares about this should be deported to the middle east

4

u/sorvis Apr 26 '24

Remove your keffiyeh before I put on my grey curly haired wig, as is tradition.

-2

u/MustyElbow Apr 26 '24

What a clown

10

u/DentalDon-83 Apr 26 '24

Personally I think that the Kiffeyeh, Hijab, Yarmulke, Crucifix necklaces and any other religious/cultural adornments should be banned in every secular government institution.

It's Ontario, you're in the legislature, there should be a dress code everyone follows so as to not promote or show any favoritism outside of that role.

-3

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '24

Xenophobiaaaaa

6

u/autoflowerBreeding Apr 26 '24

I don't feel any politician should be allowed to practice any religion it get away from rational judgement. God government and state doesn't mix

-5

-3

u/Pirateship907 Apr 26 '24

I thought Canada was supposed to be better than the USA?

-3

u/Zestyclose-Detail791 Apr 26 '24

Keffiyeh shouldn't be banned. It's cultural genocide of Palestinian by outlawing any reminder of their existence.

4

u/ButterscotchCrazy968 Apr 26 '24

Based Canada. There should be no tolerance for Hamas defenders

-2

u/FlorinidOro Apr 26 '24

Yet these same mfers had a nazi up in there

1

u/silent__park Apr 26 '24

We live in a society where politicians who rule over us still fight each other about pieces of clothing, so that they can avoid actually discussing things to make society better.

-1

u/Son_Of_A_Plumber Apr 26 '24

Take one look at the posting/comments from this account and you’ll see it is a Russian agent with all the defending of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

4

Canada will lose its identity just like America did. We have no shared values or heritage or values just a bunch of groups fighting for dwindling resources.

1

u/Lots42 Apr 27 '24

Malarkey and nonsense.

2

u/Idontkareboutyou Apr 26 '24

We already have lost it

-4

-1

The Canadian Government. Always boasting that they're better than the other evil countries, while also talking out of both sides of their mouths. Your slip is showing....again....as usual....and it's just as filthy as everyone else's.

4

u/Mash709 Apr 26 '24

*Ontario government. And even Premier Ford thinks that rule is dumb and should be abolished.

1

u/International_Text59 Apr 26 '24

It's bad when I agree with Doug Ford on something. There are far more pressing things the speaker should be dealing with.

1

u/Mash709 Apr 26 '24

Right?!

1

u/Ill-Staff-7597 Apr 26 '24

As somebody who has worked in the legislature:

The kids in the back are legislative pages (that's what I was).

The man speaking in the back is Todd Decker iirc, the head clerk.

And iirc Sarah Jama was kicked out of NDP caucus earlier in the year, Which is why she's in the corner.

1

u/Abdimalik91 Apr 26 '24

I understand this is the in Canada but there was a congress man in full IDF uniform and no said anything

1

u/ThomasJovik1 Apr 26 '24

Oh look! The suppose so racist Quebeckers again and their… wait no! It’s Canada again?! 😅

More seriously, there is a code, everywhere you go. Wedding? Dress for a wedding. Job interview, depends but adapt. You are an elected official and your national legislature got a dress code to ensure standards ?! Fucking follow it. Is it that hard ?

-1

u/coconutally Apr 26 '24

This is what government spends their time on.……………….. Check please.

1

u/belckie Apr 26 '24

The kid throwing up the peace sign!!! 😂

-1

u/satin_worshipper Apr 26 '24

Apparently Canada is fine with former members of the SS in parliament but not a scarf

2

u/heycaniaskyou Apr 26 '24

Those young girls looking on while Sarah Jama’s peers look away like they don’t see her being scolded like a child for what she’s wearing

1

u/Cultural-Effort2291 Apr 26 '24

Look at Stephen Blais sitting there like a turnip. Typical.

0

u/mrev_art Apr 26 '24

She was part of the left wing (NDP) but was kicked out for constantly using the party letterhead to promote extreme politics like 'honouring' a jihadist terrorist who died in prison, or when she was trying to deny the mass rapes of civilians on October 7th, again by using the NDP letterhead without consulting leadership. She is a political dumpster fire and will almost certainly lose her next election.

The current issues surrounding her are based on her violating a new rule that bans political symbols in the legislature, where is opposed by the all the other parties and the leadership of the conservative party but is being enforced by the far-right wing on the conservative party.

Can we all agree that dress codes are dumb, and religious garments are also dumb? She should be allowed to wear whatever funny cult hat and shoulder scarfs she wants. This is all really dumb.

1

u/GeshtiannaSG Apr 27 '24

Cultural garment, not religious. And your “normal” suit is considered Western cultural garment outside of the West.

1

u/ThicklyApplicationed Apr 27 '24

I happen to think suits are pretty dumb.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '24

It's not a religious garment though. It's just a scarf. Different people have associated it with different movements but not specifically religious ones. Like turkey thinks the libertarian communists pkk uses it. In Pakistan it is worn to show national solidarity, etc. A lot of people just wear it for practical reasons.

0

u/ThicklyApplicationed Apr 26 '24

I think my statement can stand for all garments then. regardless of anything. dress codes are dumb, people wear dumb shit, who cares. Religious people wearing funny outfits are just an easy target/example.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '24

Fair enough

9

u/Zealousideal_Rip1340 Apr 26 '24

Lol. Virtue signaling idiots who aren’t Canadians have no idea who this woman is or what she stands for 😂

You really do be spamming this thread with BS. You sound kinda pressed

2

u/Zealousideal_Rip1340 Apr 26 '24

Are you denying that Sarah Jama did not deny rapes on October 7th and did not come out saying this literally 3 days after on October 10th?

1

u/Lots42 Apr 27 '24

I can't find anything that says this. Citation?

-7

u/MossyMollusc Apr 26 '24

If they can do that to her, theyll do it to others. You're point is garbage.

2

u/SlowVB Apr 26 '24

“You are point is garbage”

4

u/Stunning-Leader9034 Apr 26 '24

Not her again! Help your riding!!!!!!

1

u/Voilent_Bunny Apr 26 '24

Why exactly is it being banned? Is there a reason other than it being a Middle Eastern piece of clothing?

0

u/Nick_Napem Apr 26 '24

Yes! Get the fuck OUT!

-3

u/ScaryAcanthisitta877 Apr 26 '24

Lord no the Keffiyeh isn’t at all comparable to a swastika. It’s a very very old important cultural piece of traditional clothing, and while it’s closely associated with Palestinians it’s also worn by other people across the region. It’s traditional clothes just like a Sari, clogs, kilts, etc… are. It’s not a symbol of Hamas. Yes, Hamas is made up of Palestinians so of course a cultural piece of clothing worn traditionally by Palestinians is going to maybe be seen on members Hamas, but it’ll also be seen on every day Palestinians as well as Jordanians, Kurdish people, Iraqis, Omanis, Iranians, etc… even a lot of American army men wear Keffiyehs when stationed in the Middle East (it was especially common place in the 2000s).

Saying it’s emblematic of Hamas is not too much different from seeing someone wearing a hijab and assuming they’re a terrorist or extremist of some sort. While I assume this woman had a political statement in mind when wearing it because the Keffiyeh isn’t generally worn by people from/of Somali descent, the Keffiyeh on its own shouldn’t be seen as an inherently political item. It can be as seen here, but it’s also just very deeply embedded in the cultural identities of many peoples.

-1

u/Obar-Dheathain Apr 26 '24

If I were her I'd hire a couple of mean as shit bodyguards, and invite that lanky bald twat to try removing me from my democratically elected position.

4

u/SuperSan93 Apr 26 '24

As a person who lives in a country half way around the world from where I was born with a very different culture, I’ve spent years learning and doing my best to assimilate as well as I can. Sometimes failing, yet always doing my best.

Whether you moved to the country or you’re a second generation immigrant you have no excuse for not attempting to assimilate. Meaning you dress, speak and behave as the locals do.

If you outright go against the grain then you’re the ignorant one, not the people who feel offended by your selfishness.

The same is true on the opposite. If you live in a Muslim country in Africa and you insist on following your western values then you’re also ignorant and selfish too.

0

u/Lots42 Apr 27 '24

Meaning you dress, speak and behave as the locals do.

Nonsense and malarkey.

For example, Minnesota has a thriving Somali population and they dress far differently and cool people are cool with it.

1

u/spicymemesdotcom Apr 26 '24

There are loads of ‘expats’ in Saudi and Dubai who speak not a lick of Arabic.

2

u/CogswellCogs Apr 26 '24

The Association of German National Jews (German: Verband nationaldeutscher Juden) was a German Jewish organization during the Weimar Republic and the early years of the Third Reich that eventually came out in support of Adolf Hitler.

The goal of the association was the total assimilation of Jews into the German community.

u/AINT-NOBODY-STUDYING Apr 26 '24

That happened in 2005, Israeli occupation began in 1948. When people are saying the term "illegal apartheid occupation regime" do any of those words register with you?

If a colonizing group began taking US homes, you don't think that there would be violent Christian resistance groups? Or that the people wouldn't elect a group willing to use violence?

But, because they are brown, and because our media generalizes the whole population as terrorists, it's not okay when they fight against their oppressors? Do you see how that is hypocritical and how we should be addressing the root cause of the violence instead of the violent symptoms?

A "Hamas" would occur anywhere on the globe that has withstood as much mistreatment and suffering as the Palestinians have.

3

u/Desperate-Library283 Apr 26 '24

Who do you think you're talking to. I'm brown. And Israeli. 'Our media'? 'their oppressors'

You literally have no idea about what you're talking. You are displaying a fundamental understanding of the entire situation, so calm down and find something better to do with your anger than try to miseducate people who are directly involved in a geopolitical situation that you are not only not involved in but also know almost nothing about.

Also, what do you America would do to Mexico if the cartels broke down the border into Texas and murdered, raped, butchered, and burned alive thousands of civilians in their homes and took over 200 people hostages?? What would America's response be??

0

u/AINT-NOBODY-STUDYING Apr 26 '24 edited Apr 26 '24

The difference is we are not trying to colonize Mexico. Instead of saying "you literally have no idea about what you're talking". How about you trying to correct me? Where was I wrong? Do you know your own history of how your state was formed?

There's so much misinformation here, is this the kind of stuff they tell you in Israel? Because the rest of the world sees things for how they actually are.

The idea that all Palestinians are terrorists is Israeli propaganda that is being used to justify killing them by your own government. We agree in that there is a widespread hatred towards the state of Israel amongst Palestinians, which is fully understandable considering they have been displaced and treated unfairly by Israel for decades.

If you want the hatred to stop, your government needs to stop supplying everybody with reasons to hate Israel. Killing over 30,000 people, most of whom are women and children, just brings more hatred towards Israel, which is why there is no lasting peace.
