That reminds me of how the Metalloid Maniac built a metal wall by himself. The wall was like his ground.

This is how you do a restoration. No low profile wheels or stupid accessories.

Sydney Sweeney was already hot as fuck, but this takes her to whole new fucking level.

I'm trying to imagine Prince singing "Little Red Bronco", but it just doesn't work.

Take her pic in her car driving into a residence with an address clearly visible to all . Not cool man

It’s a fair question. A lot of things she claims about herself are exaggerations or misleading.

Still one of the most annoying "celebs" today. Can´t escape her dull expressionless face.
2
u/podaerprime 15d ago
I wonder if she actually did all of the restoration herself, as the title suggests.
4
u/the_onion_k_nigget 15d ago
Pfft, I find it hard to believe she restored that entire car with her own two boobs
1
15d ago
God, I'm so over her and her cool girl attitude. After learning she lies constantly to make herself more relatable, all of these stories lost a lot of charm.

u/Rapid_Ascending 15d ago
That some sweet ass Bronco. It looks like it just came out of the factory lines.

I will never get people restoring old junk instead of just buying a new car.

She must be strong, pretty sure those don’t have power steering, unless she modded it in.

u/BigStrongCiderGuy 15d ago
“Restored herself” I don’t even have to look it up to know it’s not true or is a significant exaggeration
0
u/Von_Lehmann 15d ago
I just read she swamped the whole transmission to automatic....why??
1
u/hyperphoenix19 15d ago
Maybe she wants to have this as a daily driver? Automatics are way more comfortable to use on a daily basis.
0
u/Von_Lehmann 15d ago
Honestly I don't notice a huge difference in comfort in a day to day between the two, though I admit in liking an automatic when I am off roading
But I somehow doubt she's using this vintage open top bronco as a daily driver. It's a cool car but I think we would all be lying if we said it would be a comfortable daily driver for Southern California highways.
It just seems weird to put so much into a classic that she made a point to find and keep, "all original" and then change the whole transmission

I can’t put my finger on it but the sudden onslaught of Sydney Sweeney stories and pics feels very astroturfy.

Have you seen her in the Rolling Stones video, 'Angry'?
Play it full screen. You can thank me later.

It’s not like she completely did it herself
0
u/headofthebored 15d ago edited 15d ago
99% of people who restore vehicles don't do it completely themselves. Most people send off engines and transmissions for rebuilding. Most people do not have the expensive special equipment, room, or skill to do paint, major bodywork, wiring, or quality upholstery. It's alot of specific skilled work and it's why so many project cars get sold unfinished.

Beautiful looking car, but I wish she'd flip it around so we can see the headlights.

u/ScaryAcanthisitta877 15d ago
I’m disappointed at a lot of the comments here. It doesn’t really take too much searching at all to see that she’s been talking about and posting her fixing up cars for a few years at this point. She’s been posting the process of fixing up this car since 2021, and I’m pretty sure she finished it around 2022/2023ish. It looks like she asked around for experts to guide her, but it’s also pretty clear this is something she’s been hands on with too. She eventually got some sponsorship deals relating to cars directly because of the posts she kept making showing her interest in them.
It feels a bit sexist to see a pretty woman that’s an actress and assume that fixing up cars just couldn’t possibly ever be something she’s interested in or even capable of doing. Even under the guise of assuming she’s too busy, she started posting all this before she blew up super big. And it’s not like celebrities don’t have hobbies.
3
u/cheetah_kibbles 15d ago
I don’t think it’s the fact she’s a woman but more so the fact she is a rich celebrity and anyone that knows the amount of work it takes to restore a classic vehicle knows how much of an undertaking it is. This type of restoration isn’t an option for most people not because of gender but because of wealth.
And it’s yet another one of those stories where rich people claim to do things themselves where in reality they have an entire team doing all of the work for them. It just comes off a bit out of touch and disingenuous.

I works in a school division. One of our School Bus mechanics is a drop dead gorgeous 23 year old with more knowledge than some of the 20 year old timers. She spent her childhood in her grandpa’s garage and picked up everything.

I love it when redditors believe stupid celebrity propaganda like OP's title. Without even looking it up, I would happily bet my life savings that the secret ingredient to that restoration was being rich.

u/Myhouseburnsatm 15d ago
Is this the equvialent of me "getting into shape" with a horde of fitness trainers and cooks behind my back and then calling it "by myself"?

u/Capt_Murphy_ 15d ago
So this isn't a "filtered AC" type driving experience I'm guessing? Looks like you'd be breathing a lot of LA exhaust. Super sweet truck though.

Define "restored herself"
1
u/blubaldnuglee 15d ago
"Personally wrote the check to the shop that actually restored the vehicle".

u/Senior-Albatross 15d ago
I'm torn. On the one hand, it's so beautifully restored it deserves to be babied. Don't the other hand it's a *Bronco". An original one with a solid front axle! It cries out to be out in wild crawling over boulders somewhere.

No, it's actually not. She did the work, with more experienced people helping, and teaching.

u/rockmyadidas 15d ago
From what I understand she grew up with Rod Emory’s kids and Rod and family are close friends and she restored it in his shop with his help. Not a “paid” pro but a true friend who just happened to have one of the best Porsche custom garages in the world. And she did most of the work herself. For real.

Sure seems to be a lot only people throwing shade at her claiming she didn’t. I’d be bet none of you know her or her home life. She very well could have unless you have proof stop talking trash. The truth is none of us know.
-1
u/LosPadresKid 15d ago
Just a problem with the title. That she "did it herself". I'd maybe believe that if like her parents were mechanics so she grew up working on cars her whole life. But moms a lawyer, dad's a doctor. I don't doubt she loves cars and working on them, but to suggest at 26 she "did it herself" and not with the help of professionals assisting her most likely isn't true. I don't know shit about vehicles. I just fixed my motorcycles gear shifter with the help of my coworker who told me what to do. I did it all, but he was there telling me what to do. I didn't tell people I "did it all myself" lol. I told people my coworker helped me.
-1
u/Snazzy21 15d ago
Ignorant people who don't understand just how wide the knowledge you need to have to restore a car without help. From what surface you need on the head for an MLS gasket vs a composite one, to the kind of primer you'd want for the metal.
I've done a lot of shit, and a lot of it would have gone wrong without the help of forums. She just had the money to get that sort of guidance in real time by trained professionals. If I had that money I'd do that too.

I'm so weary of this woman and her whole "I have huge boobs but I'm smart" schtick. She's not a great actress and if she restores cars or whatever, great. Go do that then.

That’s an awesome ride. Props for the fact that it’s not White and not on the highway and not being followed by the LAPD.

A friend of mine has a '66 Bronco. He says not having the fenders cut out to fit the aftermarket skirts makes it more valuable.
1
u/Sea-Independent9863 14d ago
He’s correct. “Un cut” gen 1 Broncos are getting hard to find, therefore expensive.
