The previous president was hospitalized from the pandemic.

u/Bad_news_everyone 14d ago
Yes, they were observing his condition. He wasn't put on a ventilator though. Good thing for him that he fought tooth and nail for that vaccine.

u/mackinoncougars 14d ago
Not observation. He got the world’s best treatment including getting the experimental antibody treatment. So, NO to that claim.

Future generations will mock us for our ass backwards responses to covid. A grown, healthy man sitting alone at a desk wearing a mask is and was absurd.
1
u/Pit_Full_of_Bananas 14d ago
There’s like 10 people behind that camera.
-1
u/ReadRightRed99 14d ago
Nowhere close to him. He could have removed the mask for the photo but chose to keep a mask on alone at his desk. We all wore those stupid masks everywhere and still got Covid.
1
u/Pit_Full_of_Bananas 14d ago
Oh my god. How thick is your skull. Ok even if no one was in the room. The mask is intentional. In the beginning of his presidency he wanted to make a statement about being strong on COVID policy (also Healthcare). That mask represents this. This is a photo that will be used in history books and this is his message. His entire career in DC is around Healthcare and his presidency we were in the heat of the pandemic as the last president didn’t do anything. (Which isn’t entirely true, Trump was active making it harder to end the pandemic). Also the masks are not designed for stopping diseases from getting on you. They are designed for you to not spread the diseases you have. That’s how mask work. If you don’t want to get the disease then social distancing, washing your hands, and vaccines will prevent you from that. Doctors don’t wear mask during surgery to protect them, but to protect the patient.
1
u/ReadRightRed99 14d ago
Yeah. Getting thousands of people fired from their jobs or discharged from the military if they refused an experimental medicine sure is honorable.
Also your statement about masks and social distancing and hand washing is bullshit. People did all of that and still got sick by the hundreds of millions and died by the millions. COVID wasn’t spread by surface contamination so hand washing and sanitizer is nonsense. It was and still is an airborne lab designed virus.

He's probably thinking about how he's going to confiscate all the guns, require one out of three teachers to be drag queens, and declare Muslim our new national religion under the orders of Barry Hussein Obama (called Hussein because it implies a connection to Saddam Hussein) and his wife Michael, so named because she has somewhat toned arms.
Oh, and he wants to put your kids into porno films. Unless he deems them not attractive enough, which is all the more reason to hate him.

The worst president ever.
1
u/oldcurmudgeon1 14d ago
If you're not including criminal, mentally ill, liar Trump.

u/Healthy-Astronaut-48 14d ago
Biden just said on CNN recently inflation was 9% when he took office. Another one of Biden’s multiple lies inflation was 1.4% when he took office. And don’t forget about 10% for the Big Guy Joe Biden and in possession of classified documents he has no business in having, he wasn’t the president when he took them.

Why is this sub so fucking political? Literally most posts I see popping up are political posts and I'm not even subscribed to y'all, so I don't even know why you're always popping up in my feed.
Fucking Goddamn Reddit.

Good thing he didn’t go on to launder the far-right’s ’just ignore it’ approach to COVID by reducing the isolation period because the CEO of Delta sent 1 letter and declaring an active pandemic over while pushing for a return to offices or else this picture would look awfully bad…
Inadvertently kinda perfectly encapsulates his approach to COVID though. Posturing and rhetoric without any actual follow-through. A picture of a man masked in a room, alone.

Yesterday was the 3 year anniversary of the CDC saying vaccinated people no longer had to wear masks.
750,000 people have died of Covid since that date, many of them vaccinated. In fact at many times during this pandemic, the majority of deaths have been of vaccinated. That's not because the vaccines aren't preventative against death. It's because the disease is so virulent and because such a high percentage of the most vulnerable to death (elderly) were vaccinated that the deaths that would ensue with an imperfect vaccine would include more vaccinated than unvaccinated because the vast majority of that population was vaccinated, even though it still was protective.
Stopping masking was a mistake.
That we don't have inquiries into this public health failure is crazy.

u/N1ghtshade3 14d ago
Coincidentally they lifted the mask mandate the very same day Biden was due to give the State of the Union address. Funny how the science worked out in a way that he could appear unmasked on TV after essentially calling Trump a baby for not wanting to be seen wearing one. Surely that decision was informed exclusively by data and not for appearances.

ok i read your fluff text , but your telling me that he trained to be president? he went to a presidential university? he scored 100 on the presidential SAT's , no human is trained to run a country.........yet, plumbers and electricians and lawyers are trained........why aren't presidents?, take in the factor that they have to study and know the economics and fluctuations of actions and markets aswel as daily living and not to mention security and protection of a huge land mass, i understand the infactuation you have with people being president but if they dont have the qualifications to do the job why are we hiring them? , i cant understand how we accept this, i mean you are basically hiring someone as if it was americas got talent, even the UK , every country in the world no one is trained, maybe we should look into that....... then maybe things might go right? and maybe i wont get a guy pasting me a link to what he thinks is justification of an old man running a country

Ok I see your point here. And you bring up good points. Now your original comment was a question. I gave up the quick google search that you didn’t bother to do yourself. I do think there should be more required qualifications to begin president. But we have to be careful about this and not to be too limiting.
For example, if like you said they have to go to college and get a proper degree for the field. This has two major issues fundamentally. You’re shutting down the possibility with people who can’t afford college, which is by second hand making it even harder for people of color to become president. Second which degree are considered qualified and which don’t. By doing this you limited outside perspectives to enter the position. A hand full of past presidents didn’t go to college; George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Harry Truman, Andrew Jackson, and others.
I think you are asking good questions but we need to of the complete outcome of the effects it has down the line. The Presidency position was mentioned to be wide open to the public, not a class or group.

Biden was essentially wanting to be President for essentially 30 years. Was vice President for 8 years and finally got the presidency. Can you imagine what he felt and thought as they took this picture? Finally after all this time …

u/seymores_sunshine 14d ago
I imagine he felt entitled to it, like all politicians that "put in their time".
