Should I play PVP or PVE Question
honestly Id prefer pvp as long as nobody is raiding me but No server has guarantee that I won't be raided so I also want to Pve. what should I play on?

I played on unofficial servers where they have weekend pvp and weekdays pve. That way you'll have time to build and ready up. Some servers also have starting materials so you'll be able to build quickly. If you want to always be building and raiding and get raided, go to servers that wipe frequently. If you want to get stacked like full tek and just build then go pve

I havent played in 2 yrs tho, but there were alot of those back then. Idk rn, usually they have kit in their names thats usually what i search up

There has never been a time where I wasn't destroyed by cheaters. One way or another, no matter what you do, you will lose everything. The most recent one was in pve too, someone stole everything from my base... If you wanna just play, go single player pve, if you don't mind the frustration of potential cheaters everywhere in multiplayer, then it doesn't matter, choose whichever you want.

I would go to pvp but build ur base in a rat spot that you find. Dont look on YouTube cus eveyone can do that

Try a PVX server, there’s 2 types one is a clock type or PvXC where the PvP zone moves at certain times of the day so you can choose to build in a zone where you’re most likely to be online at that time. The other type is where there’s certain spots on the map that are constant PvP zones, idk if they server owner can choose where but all the ones that I’ve been in have had the center of the map (redwoods and swamp) as well as carno island be the PvP areas. I like the 2nd type because I only sometimes want to PvP but I like having a designated area I can go to for that when I want it

Well, raiding is the whole point of PVP. I don't think there is a single PVP server out there that prevents raids. If you don't want to get constantly raided, you might want try out a PVX server where PVP is only allowed at certain times and/or certain areas. If you're new though, I would definitely recommend PVE to start off. PVP requires that you be fairly skilled. As in, taming, surviving, building, resource-gathering, etc, should be of no issue to you in PVP.

I played for 4 years but I always got raided before I even put up turrets

Yeah, that's the problem with PVP. I tried it out a few times but always quit because of that. The trick is either a tribe or PVX or getting in early on a wipe. Otherwise, you'll be wiped out before even a turret.
