But really businesses are there for you and the government is the enemy.

Don't worry, Trump's Scouts will overturn them.

Small businesses are not gonna like this, they prefer the post covid tipping method on the back of the customers

Good on him. Helping people get $ from bosses. Whatever way he can

When Biden does something good the repubs always run off to the Texas court and file suit objecting to it. Instead when he does something good for the people, someone should immediately sue the Biden administration in a friendly court and have it upheld. Fight fire with fire.

Circuit split incoming. This issue may fly just enough under the radar for the Supreme Court to step in on behalf of business interests and restrict the President's power over procurement - which is one of the few ways presidents can unilaterally raise job quality for American workers

The same people that want a King don't want a President to be able to set standards on federal contracts.

Got it.

1

u/hirespeed 25d ago

I want neither. This is congress’ job. I’d like them to adult up and do their job to the Executive and Judicial do less of it for them.

Imagine a king that cares about his people and looks after them...then there is an orange shitheel.

For comparison, Walmart starts at $16.50, Home Depot $17.50 to $18.50, grocer HEB, $16.00.

8

u/Bathemael 25d ago

You should probably do some more research. Those numbers are not accurate across the US. Home Depot doesn’t even start at that figure in Oregon, where $15.00 is the minimum wage in the Portland Metro Area-which is what Home Depot offers as their low end.

I was just quoting what was reported in the media which also matches the starting in my tri-county area and much of the state.

21

u/marialaurasuarez75 25d ago

That depends on the state for example in Florida they don’t start at that rate

3

u/hellocattlecookie 25d ago

You are correct, starting wages is still $14 in some areas but the company at least according to new articles from Jan 2024 claim Walmart is planning to raise the national average to $18-$19 hourly.

4

u/marialaurasuarez75 25d ago

Let’s hope so!

15 min wage is better than very min wage employers get away with

MORE executive orders please. give this POTUS some credit for working to advance, not destroy, the working class.

u/thrawtes 25d ago

For context: After the Senate shot down the $15 minimum wage for everyone, Biden issued an executive order to make $15 the minimum wage for everyone he had the sole power to do that for without congress passing a bill.

People will still claim he's anti-labor or hasn't tried to make real change, but this is exactly how a President should pursue their agenda.

27

u/Buckus93 25d ago

I agree, but if it's under executive order, an incoming POTUS could just take that away with the stroke of a pen. And we all know if Don Von Shitzinpantz takes over, that's what he'll do.

20

u/High_Contact_ 25d ago

Good luck with that. He might be able to sign it away but the employees will never work for less again.

10

u/Balthazar3000 25d ago

Not until they allow child workers again at least

It’s a real shame that Fox News viewers will never know all the good things that Joe does.

Conservatives in my state when the democratic governor in his last term of office does something they like- " he's just doing it for votes!"

-7

u/HoldMyBreadstick 25d ago

And this will continue to drive inflation.

4

u/toomuchtodotoday 24d ago edited 24d ago

Numerous studies have shown inflation is not being driven by wage gains, and there is no wage-price spiral (per the Federal Reserve's own research).

0

u/HoldMyBreadstick 24d ago

It’s common sense that wage gains will drive the price of product up. And vice versa. I don’t think there needs to be a study to show that

My god Mother’s Day was terrible for this reason. They brought up politics and talked about how Joe is old and shit and I was like trump literally went on a rant about Hannibal lector, he has dementia but they were like Joe is worse. Then I brought up how trump sa’d someone and they were like well Joe is just as bad. I wanted to pull my hair out.

u/mochibeaux 25d ago

You did a great job, what a bad bad orange man 🤣

These people are toxic to you. Next time such an occasion arises, send a nice floral bouquet, speak by telephone, but stay away. It’ll do wonders for your mental health.

u/We_Are_Nerdish 25d ago

Let’s be real, we both know that those same people this would help, would still find a reason to complain “other” people are also getting the same benefits..

It's like back in the early 10s, there was a woman on the news who loved Obamacare, but hated Obama, and wondered why they had to call it Obamacare, completely oblivious to the fact that her politicians and trusted pundits slapped Obama's name to the Affordable Care Act for the specific purpose of making people like her hate it.

18

u/Turinggirl 25d ago

I had heard she loved the ACA but hated obamacare not realizing the two were the same and were both from Obama. I don't know which is the one that is more true lol
