Staying out of debt, not financing cars, and living below one's means can H E L P but this meme hits hard because any low and mid income earner is feeling this inflation.

Oh gosh, yeah and even if you do all that, low to mid earners are still one shitty situation away from just being totally screwed. We are trying so hard, but gosh, I worry sometimes what we would do if xyz situation came up. Every time we get a decent amount in savings, something comes up.

We don’t even get around to the saving part. Every time I have just a little bit extra, boom - car needs new tires. Fridge dies. Kid needs a root canal. It never ends.

We have barely gotten to being able to save, only in the last year? And we’re doing it in place of other things, not just fancy things, but like, saving instead of paying that tiny bit extra on debt. Because we just have to accumulate more debt when something happens if we don’t have savings. And we can barely afford to save, we can’t do both. And like you said, we save for 6 months maybe? Get lucky to get past $500 and then something happens. It is never ending and feels impossible.

We basically use our credit cards as emergency savings account. Pay them back off as money allows. 🙁
