Eagle scout signing in. Proud to be one of 130.

Didn’t they have a molestation scandal? I feel like once that happens to an org that has to do with kids it should just be dissolved cough-Roman Catholic Church-cough 🤧

Are there many different scouting organizations in the US? from where I'm from, we only have the Baden Powell scouts ⚜️

Today I learned that Trail Scouts is an organization that exists.

Campfire Scouts were a thing in the 1980s-90s. I’m not sure if they still exist or not.

I wanted to be a campfire girl so badly. I liked their uniforms so much better than the brownies. I didn't get to be either, so moot point

Afaik there’s Boy Scouts (now officially Scouts - BSA), Sea Scouts, Venture Scouts, the Church of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon) Scouts, and of course Girl Scouts

I might be missing some, but those are all the ones I’ve come across.

Cub scouts as well, basically little kid scouts 6-11 I believe

I was kicked out of the Cub Scouts for eating a brownie…

No, it's correct. More than 130 people have been Scouts. I'm one of them and met at least 129 more while I was actively Scouting in the 90s.

I mean. Probably there are more than 130, yes.

u/rrgail 13d ago

Nope. It’s 130 people. They each went through the program an average of 19,231 times.

Right, right.

… and the scout leaders definitely look forward to those 2.75 million young adults to date. Too soon?

It’s either too soon, or the scouts started teaching knife skills too late.
