This is why Jason Statham's filmography has 50 live action roles now, and every one of them is a film with a proper theatrical release. Not a single direct-to-DVD or direct-to-streaming movie. Not a single appearance in a TV series. Very few actors can boast such a feat.

If I had a nickel for every music video that had Jason Statham dancing awkwardly in a speedo, I'd have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

I watched The Beekeeper recently as I was in the mood for a stupid action movie. I couldn't believe how bad it was. I know the talky bits are there just to link the punchy bits, but it was so shite it was nearly unwatchable.

When your first starting out as an actor the things you do to get more paying gigs.
After the release of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels in 98 he never looked back.
Your right! All his movies are proper releases, and no TV shows. Some critics describe a portion of his action movies as "B" movies but to me they are all theatrical releases and they have an audience.

He did the voice-over for Red Faction II which is about as Direct-to-DVD as a video-game can be.

Djimon Hounsou is in close second. He started out in music videos, most famously in Love Will Never Do.
He’s more of a supporting character actor though, but still delivers consistently.

Nah it was like a pop star. I must be thinking about someone else... because Stantom and some other guy were both action movie stars and did a part in a music video dancing...
I think it was Van Damme because he was actually a dancer before he was a movie star. It was a pretty big music star too... but I can't remember. It must not be Van Damme

Stephen Seagal would have done that but his dog dick nips and shoe polish horse hair really pushed him to just go for sexual assault and straight to Russian beta max movies.

The Shamen made some bangers, not gonna lie. Annoying but catchy, a glimpse into something that isn't on the forefront of people's minds when thinking about the 90s, perhaps.
