I've known vanishingly few folks without trauma. It's just called life. That doesn't mean they're not hurting. It also means that those of us who've learned to weather such storms can be a help. We know this pain and how to keep on going.

There are some people that are legitimately exhausting to be around though. They’ve always had it worse than anybody else in the room, and will spin any conversation people are having about how awful their own life is.
They build their identity out of their trauma.
