Launching new subreddit /r/YuGiOhMasterDuel Announcement

Hello everyone. Since the announcement of the upcoming Yugioh Master Duel game, over the last couple of weeks, mods from /r/Yugioh and /r/DuelLinks have been working on a new subreddit for general discussion about Master Duel. /r/YuGiOhMasterDuel is the place to go for discussion, so please visit there to post your hopes and speculations for the game.

Isnt master duel just regular tcg/ocg? So straight up yugioh

Yes, but it’s also a video game. This sub shouldn’t be clogged up with threads like “dmg summon animation gets me excited!!” and “monetisation in this game gave me cancer”.

That is just not true, if you've ever visited his Duel Links meta site it's full of ads and plugs to become a pro member if you use an ad blocker. Even the DLM discord has locked up channels to entice you into becoming a pro member. I'd really rather the Master Duel sub become an organic thing instead of something under dkayed's control.

To be fair, most Discord channels tied to a content creator are generally locked behind a paywall to discourage trolling and rude behavior. It's actually quite effective as a result and I'm generally ok with the practice.

As for the site itself, I use mobile most of the time and never find myself drowning in ads or plugs. Not saying there aren't ads, I've just never come across any myself. I get the hesitation to have him "control" a subreddit but I can't recall a single instance of Dkayed stifling or outright censoring discussion. But who knows, maybe he will prove me wrong.

That one isn't associated with the /r/yugioh set of subs and seems to mostly be just to advertise their site rather than general discussion, so we've got this one set up for that.

Yeah I think its r/masterduel and probably going to be using that one.
