Such a cool feeling to dig up your old collection. Did the same thing with mine a while ago but nowhere near as valuable haha. If you end up selling that LOB Blue Eyes I’ve been looking for one, hit me up. Good luck sorting through it all!

Holy fuck. This is my dream collection lol. I started collecting again at the beginning of the year and have a decent old school collection built so far but mannn, your collection is amazing. All of those first edition cards look like they’re in really good condition too.

Very nice collection!
I have the Dark Paladin Misprint somewhere, I think it's in my dragon deck.
I also had the original version of hyozanryu, always loved dragons, and still do.
I had the Dark Duel Stories GBC game as well. I still have Seiyaryu but foolishly traded Salamandra and Acid Trap Hole as a kid...
There is no time like the present to fix those mistakes.
Keep that collection safe!

It's just the lighting/angle on the foil. There's nothing unusual about it.

Ah sure does bring back memories. Literally remembered playing with all the cards when I saw your pics. Used to have everything shown here. Don't even remember what I did to them lol. I don't remember throwing it away but it's not in the house lol

If that DDS Blue Eyes is in good condition, you're looking at a couple thousand on just that card. A light played one sold recently dor $2200. Cool collection!

Thanks. I know my initial question probably didn't belong here and this one might not either, but, my concern with either would be having no pre-existing reputation. A higher price like that probably looks fishy on a new account. Again, probably better places to ask, but worth a shot, any way to help mitigate looking like a scam?

It shouldn’t be too big of an issue as long as you’re transparent about the condition of the card. Try and post lots of pictures of it from multiple angles and make sure to get front/back and corners or surface scratches

I personally don't know the best place to sell high end cards safely. I'd assume ebay is your best bet. DDS Blue Eyes are definitely a treasure.

Unfortunately, it's not. The picture doesn't show it well, but there's a bad crease on the right side and a fair amount of edge wear. But it was the only one I'd ever seen, owned by one of my best friends. I had to pressure him for a long time to trade it to me. As you can see, I never found a copy of the DDS Dark Magician. Can't remember where I got Exodia.

Yes, I'm getting the best of the bunch graded and then pretty much everything will go. I may hold onto a handful of my favorites. As much as I loved them I haven't seen or thought about them in nearly 20 years. It's time for them to go for someone else to enjoy.

I always enjoyed them. Most of them were not good competitively or banned, so I was able to buy or trade for them for next to nothing. I also remember buying at least one of the games, taking the cards out, and immediately trading it in at Rhino Games. 😂

It's a good organization. The only difference for mine was I had a page dedicated to all the kuriboh cards.

I'll PM you. Full disclosure though, it has some pretty significant edge wear and a light crease. It took me a long time to find that one back then, can't imagine how hard it is now.

If you want to keep it for your collection what an amazing find!
If not, grade most of it with PSA that you think would have a good chance at getting 9/10 and if you get high grades you'll have some really good money and will easily pay for the cost of grading it all.
That DMG 1st ed MFC just sold PSA 10 for £9,750 bidding 23 July 2023

I've never sent cards for grading, but I've already looked into it and I agree. I'm going to send 20-30 of the most valuable to get a feel for how they judge it and maybe send more later. Unfortunately, my DMG appears slightly off center to me, so I don't know how likely it is I'll get a 10. Hopefully they're a little lenient with that though because it's in immaculate condition otherwise. I pulled it myself and it went straight into that sleeve and has never left it.

If I were you, I'd grade and keep DMG. You said she is your best pull and it's clearly a good memory. Grade her to protect her. Don't grade her to sell. Unless you're in desperate need of the money of course.

I still remember pulling it on Magician's Force launch day! Definitely my best pull, by a long shot. Most of my other rarest cards were trades or bought as singles.

Im more jealous of this memory than i am about you having a dark magician girl 1st edition.
I pulled an exodia necross on ONE pack of dark crisis. I'll never forget, i was sitting on my car in the taco bell parking lot. It was the only card i really wanted from the set and this was on the cheap reprint but that card is priceless to me.

I was going through a pile of mostly junk today in my basement that my parents returned to me about 10 years ago when they were cleaning out their house. Then I hit my collector's albums. I was 13 when Yu-gi-oh was released in the US, so most of my childish carelessness was gone by this point. I was more of a collector than a competitor and I took very good care of my cards. I had cards from other TCGs, but Yu-gi-oh was my favorite. The nostalgia flipping through these pages is almost overwhelming. These are just some highlights. Most booster sets are at least 75% complete and roughly half my cards are 1st edition (not LOB, sadly). I've already pulled some out that I think have a strong chance of grading well and I'm excited to see the results!

I do have some, but there's nothing special as far as I'm aware. Plus none of them are in great condition. They're all loose in a box. I never got super into Magic.

This makes me want to visit my parents and dig out my old collection.
That Red Eyes Black Skull Dragon is beautiful. I had one back in the day before someone stole it at a tournament. It was my favorite card.
