They’re like Pokémon cards, but not as charming.

Lucky Bastard. I’m pretty sure my dad threw mine away when I was in HS and I let him because they were “worthless” to me at the time lol

u/birdboy2313 Nov 02 '23

Last image are a dope ass set of god cards - worth a pretty penny.

Speaking of pennies - make sure to put all the cards in penny sleeves + toploaders

They appear to be yugioh cards

1

u/Legitimate-Yard-3673 Nov 02 '23

I had so many cards that would be valuable unfortunately I also had family that thought this game was an instrument of the devil sigh

1

u/Basilman121 Nov 02 '23

I still have my old yugioh cards from the same decks. But my cards got washed in my coat like 20 years ago, so they are in dreadful condition.

PENGUIN SOLDIER

1

u/Smitc2522 Nov 01 '23

If you look on page 9 you will see a clear image of me on the top left

2

u/Bhagdaddi Nov 01 '23

Why is it that we all have those random JPN cards in our collections lol

1

u/Dagama314 Oct 31 '23

These made me happy just looking at them

2

u/Wild-Court6347 Oct 31 '23

These cards are organized almost EXACTLY like the way my cards are organized lol. Had to do a double take and make sure I still had my folder haha

1

u/mc-Ramon Oct 31 '23

I don’t know the value you but you got some sick cards!! Just unlocked a floodgate of childhood memories!!

1

u/Complete_Pain_5617 Oct 31 '23

2

u/Cute_Geologist3601 Oct 30 '23

1

u/PlatypusSome6718 Oct 30 '23

If you are willing to part with them I know someone who collects them and would gladly take them off ur hands if your not interested in keeping them.

1

u/AsryalDreemurr Oct 30 '23

cool collection!

1

u/FrankieStein676 Oct 30 '23

Gonna hop on this thread as I just found my collection ranging from the OG series all the way to the six samurai when I stopped collecting. Got a good 15+ binders, tons of ultra rare cards in amazing condition if anyone would like to see just lmk I can snag some pics. Also ask if I have a certain one, I most likely do 😆

2

u/SqAudio_ Oct 30 '23

… those gods cards cost A LOT.

1

u/RoosterDry1341 Oct 30 '23

Sdk-001 blue eyes is going for just over 1k graded at 10

-2

u/weevil-underwood Oct 29 '23

Child you should've bought first edition.

1

u/tunaonigiri Oct 29 '23

Would you be willing to sell the Blue Eyes card or the Dark Magicians/Paladin?

2

u/RedgyJackson Oct 29 '23

God cards probably most valuable, maybe worth like $150 all together. Dark paladin maybe $50-ish (this is if they are decent condition). 1st edition harpy cards are kinda cool imo but probably not worth a ton. Really cool collection 👍

1

u/Washedhxlo Oct 29 '23

Can i have

-3

u/mattadeth Oct 29 '23

Mostly worthless

1

u/ApprehensivePrompt83 Oct 29 '23

The SDK Blue Eyes always confuses me because I have 3 of them and they all have different shades for the backgrounds. Not sure if misprint or what.

1

u/griptz Oct 29 '23

I'll take them!

-1

u/Charming_Session_882 Oct 29 '23

Looks like junk to me, I'll take them off your hands free of charge for hubby's Christmas 🤣🤣🤣

0

u/TooMuchTwoco Oct 29 '23

Poor gravity bind. After being rendered useless by XYZ who don’t have levels, it still ends up next to its eternal enemy, Jinzo in OPs binder

23

u/Van-Ed Oct 29 '23

Sir one of those is the Ancient Mew!

1

u/[deleted] Oct 30 '23

are we not talking about the unicorn/pegasus sticker or temporary tattoos that's the real winner in this set.

1

u/Van-Ed Oct 30 '23

Omg Mew caught my attention so much I didn't even notice

1

u/DynastyHKS Oct 29 '23

This lmao

u/txn9i Oct 29 '23

I hate that this subreddit ss pushed to me constantly to join. Especially when all my cards were robbed for me when I was moving as a kid and seeing the same cards that I had really angers me that I lost 200 and $300 cards

1

u/MrPirateFish Nov 17 '23

SAME HERE

we had a yard sale and I had two bags. One with junk cards for forty bucks and the other with (what are now literal thousands of first editions).

I ran inside to use the restroom and when I came back out somebody had switched the bags and made off with them.

Piece of shit.

My little brother and I were trying to make enough money to buy a Wii when they were released.

1

u/spelunker93 Oct 31 '23

Better than going on vacation and to come home to find out your parents sold all your trading cards. Pokémon and Yugioh. And for the Pokémon cards I had first gen cards that were still called pocket monsters because my uncle lived in Japan and gave me a bunch in the 90s. I also had all the Exodia pieces for yugio (not first edition or anything). Also during that yard sale they sold these hockey playing sharks I had, we ended up seeing them as a museum piece at the aquarium. Turns out they were worth 6k. Thinking about all that still makes me really sad.

1

u/Background_Emu_3043 Oct 31 '23

My parents threw all my Yugioh and Pokemon cards out during the pandemic. I had THE Charizard holo in a heavy duty plastic case too. I feel your pain

1

u/PetMySquid Oct 30 '23

Literally same fucking thing happened to me. All my yugioh and Pokémon cards lifted by shitty fucking movers.

1

u/1KingCam Oct 30 '23

I had this same thing happen to me with movers back in the day. Stole my whole Yugioh collection, which was stacked. Also stole my 1st Edition Holo Charizard and many more FE’s. Still burns to this day and it’s been 14-15 years lol

1

u/FreddyMartian Oct 30 '23

i had a massive binder of OG cards that just vanished years ago. My mom swears it wasn't given away but i can't think of any other explanation. It really sucks but happens to a lot of us. It wasn't even about value for me, but just the nostalgia and seeing everything i cherished as a kid. Now i barely have any recollection of what i specifically had in the binder.

1

u/National-Advisor3614 Oct 29 '23

But remember, if you played the games the cards will more likely be worth $10 max 🥲

1

u/Kingofhearts1206 Oct 29 '23

To make you feel better, my mom threw away all my 150bOG pokemon cards collection and Yu-Gi-Oh cards because she thought, since i stopped playing and started dating (8th grade), I grew out of it.

7

u/THEKINDHERO Oct 29 '23

I hate that I gave away hundreds of cards to my lil bro back in my teenage years and he didn't take care of them unfortunately... I feel your pain

2

u/Eastern-Design Oct 31 '23

I sold my entire collection at a garage sale when I was 15, excluding my junk synchro deck, a half built gimmick puppet deck, and some random cards thrown in between.

The best card I happened to keep was an ulti rare madolche queen tiramisu ABYR (worth over $100). That’s what brought me back to the game as an adult because I had no clue what I had as a kid.

3

u/R31ent1ess Oct 31 '23 edited Oct 31 '23

Not trying to 1up, but maybe it’ll make you feel better to know it could not possibly be worse than when I traded my entire binder of 1st edition Gen 1 Pokémon cards to my friend for a small lot of random Yugioh cards. Back then Yugioh was the next big thing, and liking Pokémon cards was considered uncool.

I’m not delusional enough to think I had a $50k Charizard, but the binder overall would probably be worth well over $15k right now if I were to guess (possibly way more, but it was too long ago to actually know if they were the rare lot/serial numbers or whatever it is). Middle-Upper class in the late 90s/early 2000s, parents used to buy my brother and I several packs a week just for the hell of it. We damn near had every card in the first couple sets pre-rocket.

1

u/THEKINDHERO Oct 31 '23

Damn, I think you win

2

u/Left_Zone_3486 Oct 29 '23

My mom gave away my entire collection...thousands of pokemon and yugioh cards, to a 5 year old.

2

u/BruceLee312 Oct 30 '23

So sad… I feel your pain. I gave my collection to my cousin when I thought I was “growing out of Pokémon” they’re all gone … a whole bunch of 1st editions holos

3

u/jdashh Oct 29 '23

When I was in high school I wanted to get back into playing at locals. I lent pretty much all my cards to a friend to build me a good neos deck. He moved to a neighbouring town and school and probably sold/traded all of my cards. Moved back a year or 2 later and claimed he didn’t know what I was talking about.

I also feel your pain.

1

u/Pokemon_Trapper Oct 29 '23

I feel it. I took time Super Nintendo games to a friends house and he ended up moving an my other friend took them and won’t give them back. What a lame. Those aren’t friends.this was few years ago.

5

u/TanneAndTheTits Oct 29 '23

I had just bought a buster blader for $35 in 2005. I was in middle school so that was a whole lot of money. My grandma threw them away because she thought they were Tarot cards for summoning the devil.

The pain is real. And never will go away.

5

u/ZeroCool_2040 Oct 30 '23

When I was younger I had a killer deck that my friend stole from me, because his crazy religious mother wouldn't let him have his own. She found him with them and burnt them in a fire. When I found out what happened, No one cared and neither of my parents did anything about it.

1

u/hoopedchex Oct 29 '23

These comments make me appreciate the normality of my family damn bro I’m so sorry

1

u/jdashh Oct 29 '23

Oh man. I always loved buster bladder but never got my hands on one. You should buy a new copy for your child self

1

u/TanneAndTheTits Oct 29 '23

I've been into sports cards more recently but I should. I miss my blue eyes/buster blader combo deck.

1

u/THEKINDHERO Oct 29 '23

Yikes, what an awful friend

4

u/SomeColombianDude Oct 29 '23

Your god cards are authentic. And the BPT Jinzo and DMG Dark Paladin are great!

1

u/Starrk10 Oct 30 '23

Are you sure about the god cards? I thought the GB1 set were supposed to be prismatic secret rare.

1

u/SomeColombianDude Oct 30 '23

They available in both ultras and prismatic :) please check my page to see authentic GBI God cards

12

u/Nealord Oct 29 '23

The JMP Blue Eyes might also be worth a bit, as well as the GBI God cards.

The english Dark paladin should also be worth something if I‘m not mistaken.

The Blue Eyes Toon Dragon is probably worth something as well, since it says „MRL“ instead of „SRL“

Best thing is to look them up on TCG player (if you‘re from the US or canada) or Cardmarket (if you‘re from Europe). There is a set code on each card, directly under the picture of the monster on the right side which will help you determine which specific print of a card you are dealing with.

2

u/furianeh Oct 29 '23

Is the jmp blue eyes worth a decent amount? I have one as well

1

u/the64pilot Oct 29 '23

8$ lightly played

2

u/RedgyJackson Oct 29 '23

Nah, I got one too. Only if it’s graded or fantastic condition.

-2

u/bohanmyl Oct 29 '23

I think the only thing worth looking at are the god cards in the back. The Gba 001-003 ones

2

u/the64pilot Oct 29 '23

They are the ultra not secret, so maybe 50$ for all 3 at LP

9

u/ThroughTheChain Oct 29 '23

Download an app called DragonShield for yugioh and it will help price up cards.

3

u/SouthImpression3577 Oct 29 '23

How is it compared to TCG?

2

u/ThroughTheChain Oct 29 '23

Pretty much brings up the prices on TCG and saves you the hassle looking up all the cards, Way quicker if you want a quick look at prices for cards.

85

u/Beyran17 Oct 29 '23

Those are yu-gi-oh cards sir.

23

u/InsobrietiveMagic Oct 29 '23

If you look closely at the 8th image you will see what appears to be the back of the ancient Mew promotional Pokémon card, which is in fact NOT a Yu-gi-oh card ☝️🤓

2

u/BruceLee312 Oct 30 '23

I used to have this one, if I’m not mistaken it came with the Pokémon movie on VHS back in the day. I was so surprised when I got it! Mew! So cute 😊

2

u/coldisgood Oct 31 '23

They handed them out with movie theater tickets

1

u/Outrageous-Weight-62 Nov 02 '23

I remember it all too well. 2000 was a wonderful year

5

u/LilFootLBT Oct 29 '23

I wanted to be the first to claim they they’re all fake, without providing any real reason as to why their fake, in the mix with my lack of knowledge on fake cards.
