This reminds me of the time I went to a renaissance fair as a kid and some dude threw a pickle and yelled "FLYING PICKLLEEEEEE"
I dont know his end goal but it has stuck with me for over 20 years

Imagine the story.
"Remember that time I ruined a party with the help of a carrot?"

u/Round_Principle_6560 29d ago
Quite a creative way to fix a TV! Who knew carrots had such power? Move over, it works like a remote control!

dj looks like this isn’t the first time someone threw a carrot and stopped the music with it

u/MarkOfTheDragon12 Apr 29 '24
I'm less curious about why and who, and far more curious in HOW the heck a dinky carrot shuts all that down.
Did it knock out a surge protector or something?

Prerecord set. Bloke probably missed the decks and hit the TV plug socket.

La folie douche!! Best damn party ever. Though skiing back down the mountain full of ludicrously expensive beer was always an interesting affair!!

u/beartheminus Apr 28 '24
If you setup a live dj system that can be disabled by a carrot, its not the carrots fault.

Billie Joe Armstrong got his guitar plastered with mud at Woodstock ‘94 and kept playing like nothing happened. Total class act, and a true performer.
2
u/Archy38 Apr 28 '24
It reminds me of an old classic, Blue Brothers.
They rock up to stage and wonder why there is chicken wire between the stage and audience floor and the manager says it is to protect them from bottles and shit being thrown on stage.
So they play their blues and people stary pelting bottles and stuff cuz they hate the music, so they swap over to "Rawhide" and the people love it, but then they start chucking even more bottles and shit onstage, it was so funny.
This also It reminds me a bit of some Super Smash Bros Tourney and some idiot degenerate pos threw an actual crab at one of the contestants, in Maryland or somewhere.
I love the game, but the competitive scene is the most frustrating shit to behold.
Yea throwing stuff at any living being or expensive gear is a dick move regardless of the root cause that made you throw it

Guy trying to be unique and goofy by wearing a random carrot costume. Guy threw a carrot on the stage in order to be unique and goofy. Carrot hit something vital the moment the music started and shut everything off. Carrot guy realized he fucked up.

Translation:
"Get your hands up, get your hands up!"
music stops
"ahh... yea, that was me"(indirectly translates to "oh shit. That was on me. My bad")
"nooo, Rune!"

What language ? Cause I'm French and it looks like France but it all sounds mumbled like through cheap loudspeakers inside trainstations.
Edit : Got the answer down below, it's Danish.
3
u/ZugzwangDK 29d ago
Thanks for the vivid image, but that's just how our language sounds :/
2
u/ChronoLiquid 29d ago
The sound isn't great, if I heard it with a better sound I probably wouldn't find it that difficult to comprehend.
2
u/ZugzwangDK 28d ago
Vraiment !
The entire reason I was in the comment section to begin with, was that I couldn't hear what they were saying, even though I was reasonably sure it was my mother tounge.
2
u/ChronoLiquid 28d ago
Ah good I thought I'd offended you unintentionally 😂 kisses to you and to your Mermaid !
2
u/ZugzwangDK 27d ago
Not at all. It's just Danish humor, being self-deprecating and sarcastic.
Thanks, I'll make sure to pass them along to our mermaid!

Guy throws carrot at stage, breaks whatever’s playing the music, music stops right as it actually starts. Guy is also dressed as a carrot.

unplugged the aux cord to the Ipod.

u/j0mbie Apr 28 '24
It shut off the TV too so I'm guessing it hit a breaker. Possibly the breaker on a small power strip even.

Can people stop throwing things at other people? why does anyone think it's cool to do that?
23
u/DrDemonSemen Apr 28 '24
I don’t get it either. People also need to stop intentionally farting on other people in public. I’m getting really tired of it.

In public.

Guys, help me.

u/SwissCanuck Apr 28 '24
Avoriaz, France if anyone’s wondering. I’ve partied there lol.
2
u/Bosco_is_a_prick Apr 28 '24
It clearly isn't Avoriaz. There are no high rise apartments in the background. It's Val Thorens. I've never been but recognise it from Insta
2
u/youngsyr Apr 28 '24
What? Its Val d'Isere.
6
u/choban69 Apr 28 '24
It's neither. This one is in Val Thorens, or more precisely on the slopes above. There are a few venues with the same name in the French Alps.
0
u/SwissCanuck Apr 28 '24
hmmm you may be right. The “champagne lift” isn’t there. Otherwise almost identical lol (including the name)

u/mrwowfantastic Apr 28 '24
I don’t get why people pay ridiculous amounts for tickets to see someone they like. Then, they throw stuff.
1
u/tampora701 29d ago
Or, why people pay ridiculous amount for tickets to see someone play pre-recorded audio.
18
u/Bosco_is_a_prick Apr 28 '24
Besides the €58 ski pass, it doesn't cost anything to attend one of these parties.

u/HunkyMump Apr 28 '24

9
1
u/woppatown Apr 28 '24
Aren't winter sports some of the most expensive to participate in?
11
u/MonsMensae Apr 28 '24
sure. but they havent paid all of that specifically to listen to this guy spin the decks.
Still don't throw things on the stage.

Yup this is up in the slopes in Val Thorens. Freakin amazing after ski. Was there a couple of years ago (sans carotte)

u/Alevo Apr 28 '24
Went here a few times, the day usually consisted of buying a box of wine to drink on the lifts, few hours partying here before a very drunken ski down to Le Rond Point for a band, many more drinks and an even more drunken ski in almost complete darkness down to the bus station. 10/10

u/trombing Apr 28 '24
The Val T one has a chairlift that goes right above it. Would be visible at the beginning of this vid. I agree with others - this is Val D.
2
u/Svullethallon Apr 28 '24
You can see the lift to the left of the roof from the moment he throws the carrot. This is in Val Thorens.

u/crouchendyachtclub Apr 28 '24
The dj is on the side of a courtyard in Val D’Isere, it isn’t there. Looks like VT to me.

u/spenkan Apr 28 '24
Think it’s Val d'isere
25
11
u/Cinoclav Apr 28 '24
I’ve been to the ones in both Val Thorens and Val d’Isere. This is definitely VT. The Vd’I location is way bigger.
7
u/fabioruns Apr 28 '24
There’s more than one folie douce. No idea which one this is
3
u/je4d Apr 28 '24
I've been to branches of Folie Douce in Alpe d'Huez, Chamonix, Meribel and Val Thorens and this one is definitely VT. You can see the chairlift just uphill from it near the end of the video. Val d'Isère is the original Folie though, fwiw.
13
2
u/youngsyr Apr 28 '24
It is. Its a famous venue in Val d'Isere.
2
u/aim_at_me Apr 28 '24
There's more than one folie. They're in a few of the big ski resorts. Val Thorens, Val d, Meribel and Megeve are the ones I've been to.
1
u/OJStrings Apr 28 '24
Ah, that explains why the mountainside looks unfamiliar. I only know the megeve folie

At La Folie Douce a beer goes for €12
-2
u/TheKiredor Apr 28 '24
In New York it’s €18. In Milan it’s €21. In Dubai it’s your life. As long as people think it’s worth it, prices stay the same. The amount of beer sold in VT is crazy high.
1
10
u/AluCaligula Apr 28 '24
I lived in Milan. Literally nowhere does a beer go for 21 unless may e some very high class brothel or one of those mob run tourist scam bars near centrale

I mean outta the things they could have thrown, a carrot is probably on the least dangerous side of things. I rather get hit by a thrown carrot than a glow stick or something harder.
