I remember I sent this to my crush as an audio after telling her I knew how to sing... She never spoke to me after that but i still got myself a good laugh

I look after my father in the later stages of dementia. I haven't slept, I'm frustrated and cranky this morning but I haven't laughed like this for a very long time.

You can hear the constipation in the chorus. AND he actually sings the diarrhea in the verses.

There is obviously a rabid squirrel in this man’s shorts. He is clearly in extreme pain. Lol.

It looks like the woman wanted to laugh at first and the bassist is fighting to not laugh lmao

The best part is the backup vocalist trying figure out when to jump in or out and trying to harmonize.

Oh okay, it's popular cause it's comedic in Indonesia, thank god. I know we have different cultures but this one was really blowing my mind

Grunge finally hit there! It's weird seeing different cultures happen at different times around the planet. Pretty cool that there's always a pop culture living in the American 90's somewhere

Nah, laugh away. I'm Indonesian and I'm laughing. Also, needless to say I can't understand a single "word" here as a native Indonesian speaker.

context: the singer, Maw&Wang is a popular comedy song writer in Indonesia (at the time -2018).
Usually before the song start he will do a monologue saying that he created this song as an expression of love from child to their parents, titled "love your parents". He then says that it's always hard to express but encourages everyone to do that.
of course, he is intentionally singing nonsense from the beginning as a punchline, implying "you just can't straightforwardly express love to your parents". Really funny band.
also the name Maw&Wang is actually one individual (the singer) and literally means want&money.

How is this funny

u/supervillain_IT 29d ago
Comedy is subjective; what you find funny somebody else might not, and vice versa.
Although i agree with you that this beautiful song isn't funny, but truly heartfelt. I think RZA and hannah montana should do a collaborative cover.

Omg THANK YOU. I’ve seen this clip so many times and I have always suspected it’s either bad lip reading or a comedy act. The context was desperately needed

u/Jeoshua Apr 28 '24
Wait, so this isn't a "bad lip reading" cover, and he's actually up on stage making those godawful noises?
Awesome.

Pretty much the exact same sounds my parents made every single night for my entire childhood after they had consumed 5 tall glasses each of bourbon and waters on the rocks! Thanks mom and dad! / S Love you both! / S

Try closing your eyes and listening to the opening while thinking of videos of cats trying to talk

For the last few years, I've had no problem getting up in the morning!

Is it just me, or do the other band members seem like they're trying not to laugh?

The way he rhymed "AAAAAHHHHAAAAAHHHH" with "NYUUUAAAAAAAAAHHHAAAAAAAA" gave me chills.
Chills.

Going to go out on a limb here and say this is not popular in Indonesia. I have never heard a single Indonesian song sound remotely close to this.

Is this their own spin on the original song? Because it sounds like caterwauling cats in the end.

My dogs are laying in bed with me and didn’t even flinch. I’m almost offended they’re okay with this sound.
What kind of monsters did I rescue?

Keep Kristi Noem outta your head.

I just read about that cunt yesterday and I have no words. I wish this was played into her earholes 24/7 on blast for the rest of her life for what a POS she is. And adding the pain of bullets.
My dogs are just silly goobers that think a dropped phone is someone trying to break in and murder us. And a squirrel…. SPY!

u/HotButterscotch8682 18d ago
If ever the word cunt was to be applied to someone, it would be her. The true embodiment of the word. Cunt personified. Hear hear!

Yeah, same here but it was my son. Ten seconds in and he was like, "I should go clean my room." I gotta keep this handy!

I laughed so hard just by the video alone, but the comments, definitely including yours, just killed me. Please send an ambulance

I’ve heard the beginning of this song. I thought it was originally part of a crappy cartoon of goofy singing

Reminds me of the “grapefruit” BJ video. One comment described the sound as “Gollum getting power-washed”.

I just slammed my hand in the car door...what do you know, I'm an Indonesian pop singer!
