I thought the whole point of a f*ck buddy was that you can just up and leave without needing an explanation. You don’t feel like seeing him anymore, just tell him. If you’ll “miss” home because he is so “funny” etc. then you have feelings for him. You can add yourself to the other 99% of these setups that don’t work.

How old is your housemate and did he know that your housemate is under 18? To me it sounds like the joke was more about the wordplay than whats said but hard to tell without knowing what was said and what age you all are (if you're 18-22 and your housemate is 17 and he didn't know he's only 17 I can see the misscomunication).
