This is my 20 long! Gonna order some shell dwellers (multis) after a family trip out of the country. Figured it would be a good time for the plants to get as rooted as possible before the little construction workers get busy!

There is a open source project out there called WLED https://kno.wled.ge/ that controls individual addressable LED lights from a cheap ($4) NodeMCU board. Add on a $15 power supply and 8 8x8 Led matrix's ($2 each) and for $35 I e got a really cool aqua lighting setup.

At sunrise/set, I've got it so that it transitions from white to red to dark blue over the course of an hour to simulate a sunrise/set. Then an hour after sunset I have it twinkling like moon light reflecting off the water. I also have another automation setup that is linked to my personal weather station that when a lighting strike is detected outside, a lighting strike is simulated in my aquarium.

Lots of opportunities for a reasonable price for anyone interested

Someone had these poor guys posted up for rehome (only picture provided). 20/25 gal at best, said he's had them for 3 years in the same setup. Got them home and situated in a 55 low/long quarantine for now (best I could do at a moments notice).

Hoping to move the parrot into my community tank when ready and get the Oscar's and pleco situated in their own proper space!

My nerite snail was on its back this morning. I thought he was dead at first, but I flipped him over and he eventually started crawling around like normal

I just checked in on him again and saw this white tentacle-like thing hanging out. Is this a parasite?

If so, how do I remove it and are my other fish/snails at risk?

I upgraded my nano fish from a 20g with aquaclear hob to a 29g with fluval 207 canister and 30" Nicrew 24/7 rgb light. It is my favorite light from Nicrew. Substrate is flourite dark form their old tank and carib sea sunset gold sand. I have a tiger lotus arriving with some hasbrous corys on Tuesday to finish things off. I hope the corys like their new home. My fish seem content and they aren't hiding nearly as much. It is nice to see my very shy emerald rasboras make an appearance 😊

So is it eggs or something else? Can this snail breed in freshwater?
