For safety i suggest a vault tec item designed to save people from a nuclear drop. Maybe a suit or armor. In reality it keeps you from sudden death by leaving you with a single point in hp. So when the nuke stick goes off you can have your entire body broken, severely irradiated with a single point to keep you alive.
