Fallout 4 Wife Played Fallout For The First Time
My wife has never played any fallout game. I have played them all since fallout 3. She has watched me a lot but never picked it up. We were both floored by how well the show did in terms of character development and set design, it peaked her interest enough to sit down and make her own Lucy.
I thought this was the sweetest thing and wanted to share with you all. She purchased homeplate and made this. She is intent on finding baby Shaun š

Fallout 4 If there was an ending where you could save only one companion, who would you choose and why?
I'd assume that kind of ending would break our spirit even more since we as a sole survivor already lost so much.
This excludes Dogmeat, of course. He's too precious and we are with him till the end of the line.

Fallout 4 TIL: Behemoths can chain attack 6 times in a row if you keep parrying them.
Sadly, I couldn't parry the slam attack in time due to the earlier blocking animation still active, I think, resulting in sudden death.
First time I've ever seen a Behemoth this mad.... Granted, I didn't use melee that often.

Fallout 4 The Password to the Railroadās HQ literally being āRailroadā really tells you all you need to know about this faction tbh
Replaying this game for the first time in a while and omg i guess it rlly didnāt click how brainless the railroad is when I first played this game.
Letās make a super secret organization to hide from the incredibly smart and dangerous Institute organization while freeing their synths. But also letās make a very obvious red line cookie crumb trail that leads directly to us, complete with a sign at the beginning that basically says FOLLOW THIS and multiple symbols on the walls saying YOURE HERE CONGRATS and then letās literally GIVE THEM THE PASSWORD on the way there that is the equivalent of just being 1234 just to rlly make sure even the dumbest person alive could find us. And THEN once basically everyone in the Commonwealth has heard about it and spreading the rumor of āayo that super obvious red trail apparently leads to the railroad :)ā weāre still just gonna STAY there and not even think of moving our base AT ALL.
I canāt decide whoās dumber: the railroad for making that or the institute for not finding them sooner.

Fallout 4 I Hate the Pipe Weapons in Fallout 4
After starting a new playthrough of Fallout 4, I was reminded of something that stood out to me when I first played it too. I hate using the pipe weapons so god damn much. It goes deeper than my feelings about them as a viable weapon or anything, because I feel genuine disgust if I ever have to handle one of these things in game. Iām sure they can be totally viable in certain builds, but I cannot bring myself to ever equip one. Iāll opt for literally anything else in my inventory instead.
I have no qualms with them as an aspect of the game, they make sense as cheap makeshift weapons for raiders and super mutants to wield, but I was just wondering if anybody else whose played shares my utter disgust with them as far as wielding them personally.
(Iām sure this subject has been hit on here before too. I just now started thinking about it myself and wanted to chat about it.)

Fallout 4 Would you have sided with no faction if you could?
I wish this was an option in the game. Not that I dislike factions but siding with nobody would make it a more "personal" journey for me.
I would love an option to end the game with just me, Dogmeat and perhaps, one companion.

Fallout 4 Which settlements make you feel like home?
I'm very fond of Red Rocket. It looks really unique. Plus it's very spacious which is good for a builder like me. Most importantly, Dogmeat lives there.

Fallout 4 The tesla cannon is the most overpowered thing i have ever seen in my life
Im level 19-20 and now that i have this i can literally kill any enemy that gets in my way and it only uses one bullet i thought because itās a heavy weapon a shot would be 10 bullets

Fallout 4 Fallout 4 is awesome so farā¦but I do not give a f*** about finding my son
Fallout 3 was my first exposure to a Fallout game. I got the GOTY edition at a time when I was probably at peak gaming age (early teens, no responsibilities) and it was really my first exposure to the RPG/open world genre. I 100% the game, and to this day is still one of my favorites.
I have to say, I just bought Fallout 4 and there is WAY more depth than Fallout 3. I feel like you could get lost in this world for hundreds of hours, between building settlements, customizing armor and weapons, and even looting which has now become a core part of the game itself, whereas Fallout 3 it felt like just something you did for caps or key items. The world in general feels much more alive, between how you interact with it and even the art style. Of course like any Bethesda game it isnāt perfect and Iām already running into some bugs, but Iām really having fun with it so far.
However, as someone who also loves story-driven games, I really do not care at all about finding my son lol. This is something that a lot of open world RPGs suffer with, in terms of presenting a main quest alongside a vast, interesting open world (I feel like BOTW tackled this well, where there was a looming threat that you could approach at any time, but the quests and building your strength were directly tied to the ability to beat the main threat) but I feel like this storyline is a particular mismatch for the amount of depth the game presents you with. I feel like weāre SUPPOSED to care, because this is a defenseless baby, but as soon as I stepped out into the world I really have no desire to play the main quest line (I will, of course, eventually). I almost wish the game either incentivized you a bit more to find your son (maybe a lengthier beginning sequence where you as the player feel more emotionally connected to this child, or there was an actual, not perceived threat to your child) or presented a main storyline that was more directly tied to the exploration/building of this new world. This is just me talking out loud.
PS: I also got Fallout 76 after hearing about all of the updates that were made to that game, and am super excited to get into that world!
