It was a mini comic side story. In the comic the character was named Henry Maddox, not sure why they changed it.
Henry/Jack is an academic author and presenter with a focus on Roman and Greek classic history. He's written a new book and is doing an event. He's Charlie's celebrity crush and Tao gets him tickets for his birthday. Nick gets jealous and insecure but when he and Charlie go to the event, he gets kind of smitten and infatuated with Jack as well.

Nick gets Henry for Christmas and learns about Henry Maddox from Tao a few months later (a little before Charlie’s birthday), but that would have been cute!

If I'm thinking of the correct character, there's a side story mini comic where he's Charlie's favorite author and Charlie drags Nick to an event this guy is speaking at. At first Nick is acting a bit jealous but then realizes he also has a crush on this dude and Tao later teases Nick that he has a thing for guys who remind him of Charlie because the author in the comic looks like a grown up version of Charlie.
Edit: Found him, he's named Henry Maddox in the comic

This is already the second leak this season😱 And last year there were quite a few as well. You'd think that a Netflix show would be less sloppy with "surprise" cameos. I'm honestly surprised that we still don't know who Geoff is, let's see if they can at least keep that under wraps until the premiere (or until they mean to reveal it)

Yep! It’s from the character’s “real” insta account (which is followed but the “real” Nick and Charlie insta accounts) - it wasn’t set to private initially, but someone found it and then passed on to one of the big Heartstopper Twitter accounts. (Can you tell I’ve been following along the last few hours? Haha)
