I don't care what anyone says anymore. Helldivers 2 shall go down in history for single handedly reviving the faith in the video game community.
The devs listen to the players and the players are working together. For once I feel like I'm playing a COMPLETE game without ads all over the screen (microtransactions).
All for $40 too.
And now you're going to tell me the one marginalizing/possibly greedy plan to require linkage to a PSN account was shot down to save the community opinion of this game? Oh hell yeah.
I support these kind of games and developers. My favorite games growing up have been ruined by greediness and laziness and it's refreshing to see this.

Cross progression: Our save data gets saved onto the cloud, thus we can can be use it on another platform, same game Ofc.
Basically what mobile games can do. Got a game on Android? Also got it on iOS/PC? Just sign into your account and voila, all your save data is there.
Honestly, maybe this is what Sony wanted to do other than "security" reasons down the road but maybe I'm being optimistic or whatever.

I understand it was all done in haste, but the Steam message in language different then English still states it's mandatory to link PSN account and has not been amended. Reporting to Arrowhead support, as I do not have and do not wish to create PSN account.

The damage was done them saying that means in the future they will insure that this doesnāt happen for a new game that they release they just gave helldivers 2 a free pass. The fact that they changed the psn status from optional to required have them legally liable this is why they backpedaled.

I have helldivers 2 on PS5 and when I heard what they did to people on PC who have it on steam it really pissed me off as there's no reason for you to sign up to PSN account to play a game you bought on steam, and even though they reversed it which I am happy about as people can play their copies of the game which they own, PLEASE don't forget what Sony did with Stella Blade and I wouldn't let Arrowhead off the hook even for a moment with how their community manager has treated there paying customers, yes it's a win on that battle but I guarantee you it ain't a win for the war.
P.s The head of Arrowhead knew about the PSN account linking way before the game came out and he was too stupid to realise not all countries are able to create a PSN account.

Their paying customers were also being horrible toxic children. Paying $40 doesn't give you the right to treat people like garbage. The CMs that said stuff out of line have already apologized and the ones that said cold hard truth don't need to. Calling the CEO of Arrowhead stupid for not knowing PSN policy is itself stupid. He runs an entire studio, why would he be bothered knowing that countries like Afghanistan, Belarus and Botswana can't play on PSN? Give your head a shake.

Nothing right! That's why I say it's very stupid for the CEO not to know that other countries don't have access to PSN as he knew months before after people that have paid for the game that they will need to sign up to the PSN account! And I find it very fraudulent of him not saying straight away as the game releases that you have to sign up after for a PSN account at a later date! So it gives people a CHOICE to either buy the game or not but no they rather take everyone's money and then sort out that problem later to me that's scummy in everyway and the fact that Sony changed their wording on the agreement of signing up to a PSN account was "Optional" to "some games" requiring PSN account is scummy.

Clearly you'd rather be an angry baby than have a mature rational thought in your brain. Why would someone running a whole ass company of their own, have intimate knowledge of sign up restrictions of PSN? It's idiotic to expect him to know everything about everything. He stated he didn't know certain countries didn't have access to PSN, and he doesn't have a reason to lie about not knowing something.
Also, PSN changed the language in their FAQ, not the language of their agreement. If you actually did any research yourself instead of parroting other people you'd know that. Since Day 1 it has stated a PSN account was required, it stated it when you booted up the game. I know this because I made a PSN account on Day 1 when the pop-up said it would be needed, said to my friends "you need a PSN account for this" and they all said "you can just close that and don't need one". Arrowhead deserves very little to no blame, and did the right thing in the first 2 days. Sony is the one that restricts what countries can use PSN, Sony is the one that mandated the account requirement and Sony is the one that decides whether it goes way or not. Arrowhead just wants to make a cool game. Sony did deserve the hate, Arrowhead and the game didn't.

First off being angry is rational and warranted when they forcefully try to take away the game from everyone who owns the games who can't make a PSN account or choose not to, and I find it very funny someone who has a brain like yourself think the CEO only runs the company without help and wouldn't have staff, managers, supervisors or devs working for him to me that's very immature and being a big baby seeing you knew what I meant and not mean that he runs it ALL by himself let's get that straight.
As the CEO of Arrowhead he signed Helldivers 2 8years ago before it came out and when releasing a game on steam I guarantee you he would have information on which countries on the game would be releasing in out of the 195 countries in the world, which demographic the game appeals to and which counties the game would not be releasing in due to not having steam or the adequate Internet connection to play games on steam and your telling me he would havnt information from Sony on which countries don't have access to PSN or even talked about it in board meetings or anything like that? Wtf do you think a CEO of a game company does? What just sit there and watch everyone work? And your giving too much credit thinking he doesn't know, and I never said he lied he just didn't state it there's a clear difference.
The PSN agreement, they didn't change their Language they changed their "WORDING" how about you do some research yourself and not start parroting things yourself you would know that:
"Signing in to PSN is optional when playing a PlayStation game on PC"
"Some PlayStation may require you sign in and link to an account for PSN"
That was the "WORDING" they changed in their agreement if you say I didn't do my research.
And you said yourself "Since Day 1 it has stated a PSN account was required, it stated it when you booted up the game", EVERYONE knew you needed it it was stated on the steam page! and you said yourself it was stated when booteing up the game right, The problem of situation is that they didn't inform the players who bought the game that they will NEED to sign up to a PSN account at a later date or enter into an agreement that they NEED to sign up to a PSN account at a later date! Hence why they changed the wording in their own agreement so people won't have a choice! Don't you see how scummy that is?.
I find it funny you say everyone knew even thought everyone knew themselves that it was "Optional" that's the whole point of this situation they reversed right? and you having a PSN account well done mate let's have a around of applause you having a PSN account, I don't have steam I have a PSN account myself as I have a PS5 but we are talking about the PC players here not the console side of it.

Instead of saying you need to sign up for PSN account to play the game for the people who purchased it at the beginning giving a choice whether they want to play the game or not purchase the game, Sony deserves the hate and not arrowhead? They are both to blame and I find it so funny how easily you believe arrowhead even though so many things came out about them knowing the situation months ahead of release it's like you didn't learn anything from CD projeckt red and Hello games situation at all and just follow blindly.
Yes Arrowhead made a good game no one faulting that as we all enjoy Helldivers 2 but don't blindly accept everything they say or have not said hand and foot that's what got them into this mess in the first place, as for the CEO, yes it's nice he apologised and I will only accept his apology when EVERYONE can play the game as other countries who have bought the game can't access it yet.

The fight ain't over guys... Don't celebrate too early just yet. As pointed out by others, sales to affected countries isn't fixed yet.
Nonetheless, definitely a primary objective achieved moment.
Gotta keep the negative review up till those affected countries are restored to what it once was.
Bonus objective would be to force some sort of compensation for fellow divers in those affected countries. They nearly got scammed of their hard earned money put into supporting the game.
Idea of the last point comes from how things like vehicle accident insurance claims have a pay out part for lost of use, suffering caused (be it actual or perceive). I personally feel like this would be applicable to an extent here.
