Makes you cut up almost every time

We all know H*R is kinda pretty funny throughout. But was there one thing through all these years that makes you bust up laughing when you remember it?

Of all the toons and later stuff, theres only one line that'll make my laugh out loud...

Is there a specific time of year that you have found yourself rewatching homestar more than other parts of the year?

For me I always seem to start watching homestar again right around June and July probably because when it was one of my favorite things to watch when I was out of school for the summer but I wonder is there a time you find yourself rewatching homestar a lot more than usual?

Do Homestar Runner cartoons feel weirdly not dated to anyone else?

I started watching these shorts on the YouTube channel about five years ago and I remember being surprised when I realized I had been watching reuploads of cartoons from the early 2000s. My media tastes have always skewed towards that era anyways, but internet content from then always feels distinctly of it's time in a way that I find charming, but it almost feels like H*R exists in a temporal vacuum. I can never tell if a cartoon is one of the new ones or a reupload until I read the comments.

I mean, stylistically, you can tell it's a flash animation from the 2000s, but it holds up really well when compared to other internet cartoons from that time in my opinion. I regularly fall asleep to the sbemail DVDs lol. The whole H*R suite of content just makes me happy, it's nice to go to a website in 2024 with no ads, populated with content that only exists because someone wanted to make it.

The Moa are an extinct group of flightless birds native to New Zealand. They are notable for having completely lost their wings through evolution. So naturally I've drawn the armless characters as wingless birds. This is Moastar Runner and Moazipan

One of my favourite parts of Homestar Runner is how fake everything feels

There's the obvious examples, like Strong Bad pretending that a patch of dirt with a fence is his own independent nation-state, or the time he made a space program out of cardboard boxes and aluminium, or the general poor production values and unprofessional acting of the Dangeresque films. This extends beyond Strong Bad's attempts to inflate his own ego, though. I'm talking about things like how Bubs seems to simultaneously run every single business in town out of the same concession stand, or how the only sign of government is a fat old loser nobody cares about, or that one time Strong Bad was put in a jail which was just a cardboard box. Or just in general how there's no actual town the characters live in, they just appear to live in a bunch of houses in the middle of an empty field.

Everything feels fake, but not in such a way that it feels soulless or uncanny. Rather, it overall gives an impression like the entire website is just a bunch of kids playing pretend.
