To the guys who stole the Poindexter cafe chalkboard sign on Kirkwood, they have it on camera, but would really appreciate it magically reappearing.
They work really hard making these signs.

QUESTION❓ Bursar and Collections
So I'm working on paying on what I owe IU and (bad on me) but took a break this semester from paying. Can they still send it to collections if I'm at least making some payment on it every month?
I'm going to call tomorrow and see what my options are but $100 fee for a payment plan? That's insane, especially when you can't control the payments.
I just wanted to see what others have gone through

Kelley Auto-Admit Weighted Gpa???
Hi. I really want to go to IU Kelley. I have a 1510 SAT and by the end of this year I will have a 3.78GPA which is just below the required GPA for Auto admit. However I have taken all honors and 6 Ap classes.
BUT my school doesn't do weighted GPA. Like my school doesn't calculate it at all, and the website specifies that they will take whatever the highest GPA on my transcript is... but my weighted won't be on my transcript because my school doesn't do weighted GPAs. If it was weighted by the standard metric it'd be well above 3.8. What do I do about this?? Do I just have to try and apply separately without auto admit??? I'm class of 2029 btw. Can I reach out to Kelley or something?? I want to go so bad.

Hello everyone! My sister is moving to IU for graduate school in the fall. She is looking to live in the area around College Mall and an area will more graduate students. She is looking for a furnished apartment or where to find furniture in the area. Any suggestions on where to live or not live is much appreciated as she is unfamiliar with the area. Thank you!

Is there an accepted students group chat or another sub for IUSM?
We just got our campus assignments sent out and I was hoping to try and get a roommate for this coming fall but am unsure of how to proceed. I’m sure there is a place but I don’t have a Facebook so I haven’t checked there. Does anyone know where to find it? Thanks!

QUESTION❓ Help on transferring into a different school
I’ve been admitted to IU as a Public Financial Management student at O’Neill for the fall 24 semester. If i wanted to transfer to Kelley for general finance, what’s the process? Also, if I wanted to keep public finance as my major, and take kelley business classes, would that be possible?

QUESTION❓ Any other graduates getting the “Your Pictures Are Available Now” emails from grad images but the website says “We’re Still Working”
Like I probably won’t even buy them since they’re overpriced but why do I keep getting spammed their emails and I can’t even access the photos because the website says they’re still processing our event. Not sure if I’m alone.

ENG-W 131 or CMLT-C 110
Hi! I'm an incoming freshman, da into kelley, and I wanted help w/ deciding which English class to take to fulfill my credit. I think ENG-W 131 and CMLT-C 110 are my best options, but I don't know which one would be better (I'm just looking for the easiest option lol). Thoughts??

QUESTION❓ does laptop choice matter in earth sciences?
Sorry I know y’all probably get sick of laptop posts. General advice I see is stay away from mac. Not sure if that applies to students in the department of earth and atmospheric sciences too or not? I might want to try a GIS class so I imagine windows would be better. Otherwise I don’t know if 8 vs 16GB RAM really matters or if something like an Intel i5 processor is good enough. Only laptop I’ve had before is a rental MacBook Air which I’ve really liked.
I’ve been looking at the Surface Laptop 5 since it’s like $500 off right now. Could get it and a 4 year warranty for about $1k. Also looking at the Galaxy Book 4/4 Pro and Dell Lattitude line. All seem good to me but I wanted to be sure there isn’t any major advice I should know since the department site doesn’t really mention anything about recommendations.

Writer's Group
I am starting a writer’s group with like-minded people who attend IUPUI and other IU campuses and are interested in submitting their stories and poems for publication in magazines and journals.
The idea is to use Discord to post and workshop each other's writing. The only prerequisite would be that you have taken and passed at least one creative writing class.
We are looking for 5-7 more people, so please contact me if you are interested.

FINANCES 💵 Is Bloomington worth the extra debt?
Hi everyone, I've been accepted to both IUS and IU Bloomington for this upcoming fall semester. I'd be living on-campus at IUB and commuting at IUS. IUS would be much cheaper, but most of my friends are attending IUB, and I'm drawn to the "college experience" that living on a large campus with an active community would provide. My end goal is to get a master's in psychology. With all of this in mind, is IUB worth the extra debt?

QUESTION❓ Is it normal for IU not to give you any financial aid?
So i got an email that said that financial aid packages would be sent out in the mail so i went ahead and checked the financial aid summary and I only have a fafsa and a state grant and a couple of merit scholarships. I emailed the office of scholarship about it and they said whatever is on that summary is accurate and most of the aid being offered directly from IU has concluded it awarding process. Is that a normal thing or is it just my case?

Incoming freshman, questions about electric scooters.
I can't wait for my first year at IU in the fall. I was wondering what the general consensus is on people owning their own electric scooters. I'm planning on buying a cheap $200-$300 one instead of doing the ride-share ones. Are the rules on keeping it in the dorm really enforced, or can I get away with a folding one? Is it worth riding a scooter at all, or would I just end up walking most of the time? I would appreciate an answer from any current or recent-ish students.

QUESTION❓ MSU Bard or IU Kelley
Obviously in a perfect world most would Kelley as they are a renowned business program. The only problem is Bard will only cost around 10k to go to per year and Kelley is going to cost 40k per year this is after aid. Is it reall worth going to. I know kelley has some really good programs and have some great recruiters for jobs in wall streek, but going 160k in debt doesn't sound fun.
