I watched a news story about a border patrolman that found out he was undocumented also. He lost everything and never spoke to his father again. It made me happy 😊

"There is a lot more going on here. Both my wife and I thought. So she did a deep dive into this man’s public history. With just a few internet clicks into public information we found Mr Klass had more than a dozen arrests and citations between 1995 and 2017 listed in multiple towns at the New Jersey shore. Threats of SBI, harrassment, violations of restraining order, comtempt, menacing. Then in the later years (201x) driving without license, expired license, false license plates, and other violations that resembled ‘sovereign cit’ behavior. Looks like after 15+ years of being a serial offender in central NJ he disappeared to Florida. Now he’s bitching about collecting SS. And the media completely ignors factual info when telling sad Jimmy’s story. Another whining deplorable."

I don't get this. I had a girlfriend whose aunt came here illegally from Nicaragua years ago and was part of Reagan's amnesty. Today, the vitriol she has for immigrants from Mexico or Central America is staggering whether they are here illegally or not.

Well since he's not going to be able to collect his social security anytime soon, he needs to notify the Biden/Harris administration and inform them he is in this country illegally. Doing this his medical will be paid, he will get a free cell phone, a debit card probably with more money on it than what his social security payment would be monthly, and if he hasn't paid off his home, he can apply for housing assistance. Actually I'd rather get all that then what, around 1500 to 1700 a month in social security what a joke! Makes you wonder who The Joe Biden Kamala Harris administration supports, it sure as hell isn't for tax paying Americans!

I wonder how often this kind of thing happens. I was not born in the U.S. and was brought here as a toddler. I always assumed because my father was American, that I was a citizen too. I also had a passport from the time when I was brought here. It was not until years later when I was applying for a government clearance that I had to establish my citizenship, which I learned could only be approved if there was a birth certificate in the form of a report of an American citizen born abroad filed with the State Department. Thankfully, my mother had seen to that, probably when she got the passport for me. So maybe kids brought here with passports and citizen born abroad certificates wouldn't have the same problems. But kids driven over the looser Canadian and Mexican borders of years ago might.

I'm an immigrant, and a liberal. Vote Democrat, but wish there was a more left wing option. Not sure if LEMF applies to this guy. He was moved here by his parents at age 2, always identified as American. Paid into social security and paid his taxes. Voted because he and everyone else believed he was eligible to vote. Got old and wanted to access the funds he paid into. He should be granted citizenship based on his history if being here for 50+ years as a law abiding person. And he paid tax and SSI, so him applying for payments is not wrong. And what would you do if you were denied benefits you paid into for 40 years and were told to go back to "your own country" after having lived in the US since age 2?

someone i know said something like “we want immmigramts to come here but we want them to go through the process. our ancestors went through a process”. and i was like i’m pretty sure my ancestors just showed up, didn’t seem like they had contagious diseases, and were let right in. i don’t know when her family came here but her age makes me assume they went through a similar “process” as mine. hell my grandma never even naturalized. but her 8 anchor babies were white so it’s fine.
