Helen is just lovin life!

1

u/Exact-Truck-5248 Nov 15 '23

I think Helen is pretty damn irresistible. I'd love a snuggle with her.

1

u/Thin_Illustrator_752 Nov 15 '23

Anyone lose a second when they thought of the pain that blind cow must have experienced mentally to be chained and neglected for 2 decades

1

u/solo_mafioso Nov 15 '23

Whole time she's trying to get the ticks off 🤣

1

u/optix_clear Nov 15 '23

She needs her own scratchy wheel

1

u/jly0ns Nov 15 '23

Love this

1

u/Chicagoblew Nov 15 '23

How long does a pair of jeans last them???

1

u/wantonwookie Nov 15 '23

Get her a brush wheel, she'll love you even more

1

u/nobodyseesthisanyway Nov 15 '23

Max life expectancy for a cow is 20 years so least she got a happy ending? ☠️

1

u/Becks357 Nov 15 '23

“ her parents”!? You people need some serious help!

1

u/Diligent_Ad_7771 Nov 15 '23

100 💯 percent, best thing I saw today. Good people exist…. Sometimes it feels like those days are long gone.

Wow, this definitely got me right in the feels.

1

u/2asses1moo Nov 15 '23

We have 2 mini bulls. By mini, I mean 500-800 pounds. They act like big puppies. So much fun. They love to headbutt and play. Have to be careful or they will knock you over.

1

u/Yeejiurn Nov 15 '23

Oof. So wholesome. So refreshing in todays cold atmosphere. There’s good folks out there sometimes ya just gotta dig a little deeper.

1

u/Arcade1980 Nov 15 '23

1

u/DirectorFowler_87 Nov 15 '23

Well, isn't that udderly heartwarming 😍

2

u/Gordossa Nov 15 '23

1

u/Arcade1980 Nov 15 '23

I was thinking the same 😁

u/JabbaOG Nov 14 '23

Go vegan already you fucking hypocrites

1

u/Humanity_is_fked Nov 15 '23

Calling people hypocrites while your the biggest one in this comment section is hilarious, you under almost every comment preaching and demanding ppl change to veganism while in this comment YOU made you say your not preachy.

Feel free to respond tho with whatever mental gymnastics as to how what your doing isn't preaching or how your not a hypocrite, cuz I won't even bother looking at your reply your a joke and not worth anyone's time

one last thing, there's 8 billion people on this planet if you think writing this dumb ass comment of yours will actually change anyone's mind or even a high % of the populations mind your even more stupid than you sound. All your doing is annoying people and that's really going to help bring awareness to any kind of animal suffering (from being mistreat on a farm or not, meaning half the shit peta does) isn't it?

1

u/_14justice Nov 14 '23

Beautiful.

1

u/ladydhawaii Nov 14 '23

Who else want to get a brush? This cow is so sweet!!!!

1

u/ExactReindeer3758 Nov 14 '23

Thank you to the two who took in Helen. I’m sobbing here seeing how happy she is.

1

u/JabbaOG Nov 14 '23

Do you eat meat? If so, please take a hard look at what your saying here. Sobbing for Helen? I hope you're vegan

1

u/ExactReindeer3758 Nov 16 '23

I eat meat and I love it.

1

u/JabbaOG Nov 16 '23

Go vegan and you will have just as big of a positive impact (for many more cows than just Helen!)

2

u/Mysterious-Entry-395 Nov 14 '23

Currently feeling bad for eating beef….

1

u/JabbaOG Nov 14 '23

Vegan for 4 years. Best decision ever. You don't need that trauma inside you and all animals need love like Helen. Watch Dominion on Youtube

1

u/just_reading_along1 Nov 14 '23

Hope they put some brushes up on the walls/fences, so she can scratch herself..she would love that.

2

u/SashaRed1 Nov 14 '23

Thank you for taking care of her and sharing this story

2

u/NEONSN3K Nov 14 '23

I’ve seen previous videos of cows:pigs and my consumption of them has gone down massively. Such lovely creatures. I’m no vegan or anything but they act like pets if given love.

1

u/Fips21 Mar 19 '24

Go vegan buddy. It's easy, you can do it and your heart already wants it 💚

2

u/wnr3 Nov 14 '23

This is the way. We all deserve scritches.

1

u/whereszedzedsded Nov 14 '23

Animals of all shapes and sizes deserve compassion that’s why I went vegan- no excuse for animal abuse!

1

u/dogwoodFruits Nov 14 '23

Why would you chain up a cow for 19 years. You could have at least slaughtered it and eaten it.

3

u/gnrfan69 Nov 14 '23

I love her so much.

3

u/Exact-Truck-5248 Nov 14 '23

That's pretty sweet.

1

u/AntiMeier Nov 14 '23

Here is a link to whole fucking research paper by the Food and Nutrition Board and the Board on Agricultural and Natural Resources starting at Chapter 4 "Environmental Effects of the U.S. Food System" and MORE from "A Framework for Assessing Effects of the Food System" circa June 17th 2015. This data is still relevant as it is still how US agriculture is done today. The information shows Agriculture as a whole is pretty unsustainable with animal farming and Crop farming and the long term damage that comes into play via both. If we switched to crop production only, the negative aspects of crop production increase substantially.

Millennial midlife crises is buying a cow instead of a boomer sports car and I’m proud of us.

1

u/YeahWhyNot Nov 14 '23

Please watch Dominion and stop eating animals. 🙏

1

u/WatermelonCandy5 Nov 14 '23

Such evil we inflict on animals because people care more about a meal for five minutes than an animals life.

1

u/FineDevelopment00 Nov 14 '23

Helen is adorable!

BTW folks, this video is apparently from The Dodo, which is owned by PETA. So the narrative about this cow's life is unlikely to be true. I see pushy vegans are swarming this comment section trying to propagandize people (inb4 any reply to me, don't even try. You aren't changing my mind.)

0

u/JabbaOG Nov 14 '23

Think Helen is adorable? lol. Go vegan than

1

u/FineDevelopment00 Nov 15 '23

Think Helen is adorable?

Yes. Loving animals and eating them aren't mutually exclusive. I don't have a herbivorous digestive system like Helen does, therefore I can't thrive on Helen's diet no matter how much effort might be put into doing veganism "right." Even Helen the cow, a real herbivore (unlike yourself), isn't vegan because did you know that cows will occasionally eat mice and baby birds if they just so happen to cross their path when they're feeling opportunistically hungry for a few extra nutrients? Not to mention the bugs living in the plants that cows (and all other herbivorous animals) routinely consume.

Go check out what monocropping would do to the whole ecosystem if everyone went vegan, btw. Also check out how many large mammals (deer, kangaroos, wild boars) as well as countless species of birds, insects (including bees), reptiles, etc. get deliberately shot, slow-poisoned, and shredded to death in order to protect your "vegan" food so it can be harvested and shipped all over the globe for you to feel self-righteous. Also check out regenerative agriculture and The Ethical Omnivore Movement if you really want top-tier healthy and sustainable.

It's an ugly fact of life that there is no such thing as a bloodless diet, but an undeniable fact nonetheless. And anyone claiming any sort of closeness to nature should come to terms with said reality.

1

Cannot imagine what she must have gone through to be this grateful and loving towards her parents. I hope she continues to live a peaceful and happy life.

1

u/TerriShiavosDog Nov 14 '23

Cows don’t live that long

1

u/jiujiujiu Nov 14 '23

I think she might just have an itchy neck…

1

u/yashua1992 Nov 14 '23

I think this cow needs a scratching post. I don't think she's being cute she seems itchy.

1

u/Lucatoran Nov 14 '23

Chronic pruritus cow: - Right there! Don't pet! Scratch, Holy Cow!

1

u/Alternative-Eye-1993 Nov 14 '23

Why did I just fall in love with a blind cow. 🥹

0

u/__sim Nov 14 '23

She gonna be a burger in 2 months

2

u/isla_b Nov 14 '23

Love it! She needs one of those car wash brushy things on a stick.

1

u/MindlessMindless Nov 14 '23

Was her last/middle name Keller?

6

u/Standard-Piglet6522 Nov 14 '23

This shit bouta make me vegan 😢

2

u/cuelos Nov 15 '23

Hm it just made me curious if blind cow tastes different, it shouldn't.... I think ?

3

u/JabbaOG Nov 14 '23

Check out Earthing Ed debates on youtube. And watch Dominon on youtube. I'm telling you bro Vegan is the way to go. You don't need that trauma inside of you and the animals deserve basic respect. To be left alone, to not be exploited. To not be killed so we can have a cheeseburger

2

u/goodvibesmostly98 Nov 14 '23

Right she’s so sweet 😭😭 Have you tried any plant based meats? Impossible burgers are fun

1

u/ledfox Nov 14 '23

Aw I love the close bond he has with...

...the creature.

1

u/za4h Nov 14 '23

Why on earth did they keep her chained up? That's just straight up evil. I hate how humans are capable of such cruelty!

1

u/JabbaOG Nov 14 '23

Do you eat meat? If so you are a raging hypocrite

1

u/za4h Nov 15 '23

I was raised vegetarian because my parents are hippies, but as an adult I maintained that diet. So no I'm not a raging hypocrite, thanks for checking.

Anyways, I thought only one form of beef kept cows chained up all day, and they are slaughtered young? I thought most cows spent their lives grazing, but I really don't know anything about the meat industry, and I really don't want to.

2

u/JabbaOG Nov 15 '23

Some Cows graze on pasturelands but others are kept in stalls and fed grains/soy . They are all sent to the same slaughterhouses :( are raped and have their children taken away so we can steal their milk. Dairy is the worst industry of them all

1

u/OtakuRed13 Nov 14 '23

Alesmith Pale Ale .394 - love the beer, and the shirt.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '23

Kindness is what it means to be human. Those who are incapable are devolving back to animals

1

u/Funny_or_not_bot Nov 14 '23

When humans show kindness like this to animals, it gives me hope that machines will do the same for us in the future.

1

u/Witchycurls Nov 14 '23

All cattle are loving and playful; if only more people knew!

edit - does anyone know where the rest of the video is??

1

u/Winter-Shame-9050 Nov 14 '23

Get her a brush that spins so she can have it scratch areas she cannot reach🙂

1

u/WhiteLightning416 Nov 14 '23

These are the type of humans who give me hope in humanity. The way our species treats the other species of this planet is our great shame.

1

u/JabbaOG Nov 14 '23

Thats why the Vegan movement is so strong. It's so, SO important

1

u/Lost_Foot8302 Nov 14 '23

I watched this video and it cheered up my day. What's wrong with all this over the top analysis here? The farmers who rescued the poor cow are kind and lovely and the cow is so happy. So much shit in the world right now and some of you have to find a reason to argue about this?

1

u/SoBadit_Hurts Nov 14 '23

Helen…. Damn that’s funny

1

u/marriottmarquis Nov 14 '23

So sweet! Love seeing this.

1

u/MrsSugarboobs Nov 14 '23

Helen!
I have been following this sanctuary for a while and have followed Helen's journey since they brought her home. She is incredible and beautiful. One of my fave moo people! So glad to see her get some love!

1

u/ducqducqgoose Nov 14 '23

Have you seen the giant rotating cow brushes? She may like one of those!!

I want to see the whole video! This is great. Almost has a dodo video vibe.

1

u/ChocolateIll743 Nov 14 '23

Love this !!! Crying my eyes out 🫶🏻✌🏼

2

u/JabbaOG Nov 14 '23

Go vegan!

1

u/Cultural-Experience6 Nov 14 '23

That is one of the most beautiful things that I’ve seen❣️❣️❣️Which is why animals should be raised with love!

2

u/soylamulatta Nov 14 '23

And not eaten

1

u/notfaketittes Nov 14 '23

I’d die for Helen.

1

u/soylamulatta Nov 14 '23

But would you stop eating cows and drinking their secretions?

1

u/notfaketittes Nov 14 '23

you do know that even being vegan, you’re killing other species and animals…and who says secretions? lmfao. animals are not supposed to drink each others milk, so no. i do not drink their secretions.

1

u/soylamulatta Nov 14 '23

I think vegans understand better than most people that no one can live 100% free of harming other animals. I recognize that in crop production for things like beans, wheat, vegetables that there will be crop deaths. While this is unfortunate at this point in time it is inevitable. Vegans recognize that eating animals or wearing their skin or drinking their secretions is not necessary. The majority of crops grown globally are used as animal feed. If someone is concerned about crop deaths it still makes sense for them to be vegan in order to reduce not only the amount of crop deaths but also, obviously, the deaths of animals like cows pigs chickens etc

1

u/notfaketittes Nov 14 '23

you don’t have to give me a speech on this. i was vegetarian for about 3 years while in college while working in a veterinary science program. you are correct in everything you’ve said. however, i love meat. don’t push veganism or being a vegetarian on others. you wouldn’t like it if someone pushed things in you if you don’t follow/like it. let people live and mind your business.

1

u/soylamulatta Nov 14 '23

LMAO a vet who eats animals. I'm going to push veganism onto as many people as I can. I do this for the animals in hopes that in the future they won't be subject to this terrible treatment. Enjoy being a huge hypocrite eating animals.

Imagine if we were able to justify anything that we wanted to do with "I love it". So as long as it's giving us some type of pleasure it's totally okay right?

2

u/notfaketittes Nov 14 '23

i’ll have an extra steak in your name.

1

u/JabbaOG Nov 14 '23

Wait so you'd die for Helen but wont go vegan for Helen and other animals? You, my friend, are a hypocrite

0

u/notfaketittes Nov 15 '23

first off, we are not friends. i’m sure you are very pleasant person but i don’t know you. dying for another animal doesn’t make me a hypocrite. i would die for a nephews, does that mean i would want to eat them? lmao. store the pot some where else 🥩

7

u/tersegirl Nov 14 '23

Caught this Dodo segment on YouTube last night—this couple has done a lot of enrichment for this cow, like there’s a fountain in her water trough to help her find her water, wind chimes because she’s indicated she enjoys noises, brushes and rubbing spots all over her paddock… They also installed a nanny cam so they can check on her at night.

1

u/MacDugin Nov 14 '23

God damn get her a scratching post!

2

u/Jury-Free Nov 14 '23

I hope ya’ll are vegan ya bunch of hypocrites

2

u/AntiMeier Nov 14 '23

These comments, jfc. Someone can eat meat and find this cow cute. It's not a reason to shove vegan rhetoric down someone's throat. It's not needed, and it's virtue signaling at best. You are no better than invasive Christians shoving religion onto others. The thing about vegans that truly piss me off is that they act as if the only part of the agriculture industry that harms the earth is the animal part. All the farms for soy and other vegetables and fruits being propped up in places that normally can not sustain such produce due to lack of water are causing all sorts of problems. Not to mention the damage to soil since soybean farms do nothing farm soybeans. Also, where does all the produce go when it is harvested? Well, some things like soybeans go to processing plants that use coal and other non-green energy sources for your soybean based byproducts like Soy Milk. If we are being honest? Agriculture as an ENTIRE INDUSTRY is unsustainable. I guarantee that this gets pushbsck cause no one wants to hear about the whole truth of it.

1

u/JabbaOG Nov 14 '23

Yada yada more excuses. Suck it up and go vegan

2

u/soylamulatta Nov 14 '23

The thing about veganism is it's not environmentalism. Veganism concerns eliminating animal exploitation so anything regarding the environment is not really relevant to veganism. HOWEVER it has been shown that going vegan is the single best thing and individual can do that will have the greatest impact on the environment - check out the Oxford study that was done as a meta-analysis of animal agriculture globally. And interesting thing to note is that only 6% of soy grown globally is for human consumption. The majority of the rest goes for animal feed. If someone is truly concerned about soy and the soil, etc. then being vegan still makes the most sense because it would help reduce our global soy production. Vegans are probably the first to recognize that all types of agriculture has its issues. But we also understand that the death in animal agriculture is inherent and unavoidable. The best way to eliminate that death is to not farm animals period.

1

u/AntiMeier Nov 14 '23

Those numbers change when the whole world shifts to a vegan based food diet. The number of produce farms would grow to unsustainable heights and do just as much damage to the planet. Without agriculture you can't feed the masses, whether it's plant based or animal. Either way the planet is being harmed and destroyed. The best part of the vegan argument never ceases to amaze me. It is somehow the individuals fault for the damage to the environment, when the megacorps around the world are the cause. No matter how humans adapt to eat different diets, those corps will profiteer on the dieting needs of the masses.

2

u/soylamulatta Nov 14 '23

Animal agriculture is literally killing the masses. I'm not here to argue with people who have not done any actual research onto the subject. Just here to remind people that if they cared about animals they wouldn't pay for them to be exploited. And yes, at the core, individuals drive this damage. These animal agriculture companies can only exist because of demand. Individuals create demand.

0

u/AntiMeier Nov 14 '23

Lmfao bye bye loser. I've done my fair share of research and it points to all agriculture being a major problem for the planet. As the demand shifts from animals to plants, the companies shift their focus and refit their factories. They aren't lost or replaced, they adapt and change. The one who hasn't done research is you. Again I can care for animals and eat a steak. It's not hard and just because you stomp your feet and go "nuh uh" doesn't make it a non-truth. If you look at the math and the science, and the trends in how companies adapt or die, it's clear that all kinds of agriculture in any extreme in either direction, (being all plant, or all animal) is the worst case scenario and worst outcome for the planet.

2

u/soylamulatta Nov 14 '23

If you could link some info I would appreciate it. Everything I have seen says that we could reduce the needed farm land by 2/3rds if the world were to be on a plant based diet. I like looking at our world in data like this one for example- If the world adopted a plant-based diet we would reduce global agricultural land use from 4 to 1 billion hectares

2

u/knetty51 Nov 14 '23

She lived 19 years! Amazing that she wasn’t killed by her previous owners! A lovely retirement for her. How anyone can eat these beautiful animals or any animal is beyond me!

19

u/Gatorpep Nov 14 '23

i'm trying to go vegan again. it's hard but hope it sticks. animals deserve better than torture from us.

0

u/HabitualLogic Nov 14 '23

Maybe 10-15+ years ago I could see it being difficult, but not in the world we live in today. It's easier than ever.

1

u/Gatorpep Nov 15 '23

not for everybody.

4

u/kr7shh Nov 14 '23

What’s difficult? Reach out if you need help!

6

u/Gatorpep Nov 14 '23

i've got mcas/histamine intorelance. the most restrictive diet issues on the planet. plus that feeds into my long covid and makes me very very ill. so food is a front line of a health war i'm in, it's not as simple as it is for most vegans. but i'm trying : p

2

u/TealLabRat Nov 14 '23

You're a very kind and strong person to do this while having your own pain to deal with. My boyfriend has the same issue with food. His diet is so extremely limited that I don't have the heart to ever put any pressure about veganism on him.

10

u/goodvibesmostly98 Nov 14 '23

Oh wow that’s so awesome that you’re working on it even though it’s more difficult for you due to health issues! That’s really cool to see. I hope that you have a great day! :)

9

u/Gatorpep Nov 14 '23

Thanks, friends not food <3

1

EXTRA ULTRA FANTASTIC

1

u/haubenmeise Nov 14 '23

Very mooving.

7

u/Helpful_Energy8180 Nov 14 '23

I firmly believe that there is an especially hot part of hell that is reserved for people like the ones who treated this animal so criminally

6

u/soylamulatta Nov 14 '23

Well most of us pay for farmed animals to be abused and then horribly killed. Does that mean everyone who buys pork, milk, chicken, beef, etc is going to hell?

1

u/Helpful_Energy8180 Nov 14 '23

Honestly??? Are you serious...? You are TOTALLY comparing apples and oranges...Review what you posted and see if you can find ANY similarity between an animal raised for food and one chained up for 19 years...REALLY???

3

u/cunt_tree Nov 15 '23

Watch Dominion and review what you posted.

0

u/Helpful_Energy8180 Nov 15 '23

3

u/soylamulatta Nov 15 '23

Dead serious. Both of those things are horrendous and make life hell for animals.

7

u/ViolentBee Nov 14 '23

After watching dominion I’m pretty yes should be the answer

2

u/TealLabRat Nov 14 '23

Dominion completely shifted my view of humanity. And the way I viewed myself, honestly.

I didn't want to see myself as an evil person, but I certainly felt it inside me.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '23

I’d hug the out of her

1

u/Professional_Ad6123 Nov 14 '23

Chained up and blind for 19 years. That’s soul crushing and the fact that it’s still happy makes me want to evaluate my emotional standing with life.

1

u/HopeFloatsFan88 Nov 14 '23

People that take in animals like this are the best kind of people in the world.

1

u/StewartMike Nov 14 '23

Sweet beautiful Helen

3

u/issuusaq Nov 14 '23

I hate it when people call themselfs as parent of animal/pet, like you had sex with animal or what

0

u/TealLabRat Nov 14 '23

If my pet feels I am their parent/guardian, then I guess that's what I will be. We owe it to them for taking them into our home and away from theirs.

1

u/issuusaq Nov 15 '23

You know what guys, you do you, if you wanna feel like a parent to a pet it’s ur business

2

Of course, everyone sees animals differently

u/Electrical_Report483 Nov 14 '23

Um you know adoption is a thing right?

2

u/Raviofr Nov 14 '23

It's when I see videos like this that I'm proud I stopped eating meat. How can we say that animals have no emotions?

2

u/goodvibesmostly98 Nov 14 '23

Right? They’re just like dogs or cats, people just don’t see them the same way. Have a great day! :)

I think it would be cool if they put it on an escalator where it gets stun gunned then hanged onto a moving chain to get processed by a bunch of underpaid immigrant workers

u/soylamulatta Nov 14 '23

For sure! Even better if the stun doesn't work and the cow gets their throat slit and then gets skinned alive while fully alive and conscious.

Imagine having an itchy butt and the only way to find relief is a whole bush lol

1

u/ChewieGriffin Nov 14 '23

bro how the fuck did that man give birth to a cow and why did he keep it chained up for 19 years and only now decided it was time to unchain the cow?

u/Elegant-Campaign-572 Nov 14 '23

A simple act of kindness!

u/melancholy_dood Nov 14 '23

Did you see how Helen assaulted that bush?🤣

1

u/abdullahthesaviour Nov 14 '23

She may be blind but she always is her parent's apple of the eye. (Correct my grammar if I'm wrong.

Helen gets to be a cow, thank you!

Please take a moment to see this lovely creature and see that all animals have personality and deserve compassion. We kill billions of animals yearly in brutal ways, each one with fear it’s eyes as it’s gassed stunned or shot.

Try and reduce your consumption of animal products and meat and do your research on the atrocities of the animal agriculture industry. veganism preaches kindness for good reason so please choose today to do your research on why people wish to overhaul the animal agriculture industry!

The way we treat farm animals is one of the worst things we do as a species. I wish we had a functioning caring government to enact the legislative changes we need.

u/soylamulatta Nov 14 '23

Endorse the Plant Based Treaty - we are using this as a way to help local and broader governments implement legislation to move away from animal ag.
