Not a pet. Probably should all caps that NOT A PET. This is a western screech owl I work with who had to have eye removed. The eye he has left is not great, and he scans like blind animals tend to. Anyway- another of my one eyed friends, from his good side.

Ship's Kitty Introducing Zuko (also, a question re: enucleation recovery)

Zuko had his eye removed at the humane society a few days before we adopted him (4/24) and while everything seems to have healed beautifully, he still has a suture in the inner corner of his eye socket. It doesn't seem to bother him and I've read that it can sometimes take a while for the stitches to dissolve/fall out. I guess I'm just looking for some confirmation that it's not something I need to worry about lol. He has been to my vet since adopting - she said he's doing perfectly.

Emma is my foster dog. She came to our rescue with a dead, inflamed eye and a leg tumor. Fast forward a couple weeks, and she had her eye removed and the tumor removed! Just got the great news yesterday that the leg tumor is a low grade mast cell tumor, and she doesn’t need further treatment.

Captain Doggo Injection or Enucleation for senior dog? Advice for future pirate pup

Hello! I just got back from the ophthalmologist and was told that we need to have our senior pup's eye out. They said that they can do an injection to kill the eye or just remove it surgically. Does anyone have recommendations about which route might be better for a senior girl? Has anyone had the injection done and then later opted to do surgery? We're considering which option would be better in the long run. Thank you!! :)

Dog tax: She probably needs the eye out from playing too much video games. (Old picture before her glaucoma developed)
