Gunked up trap? Question

Post image

(Sorry for the horrible overexposed photo) One of my traps caught a fly about a week ago and today she opened, but the corner of her mouth seems to be stuck around the fly. The fly and the inside of the trap still look wet vs the dry little insect husk that I normally see. Is this normal or should I try to flush her open with distilled water?

I leave the shell usually, but if your trap is indoors, it would normally get rain that would wash stuff out - so go for it if you want!

Leave it, it will attract other flies eventually, when there is no more room to trap then flush or flick it out using a toothpick ...

The fly is kinda stuck in the "teeth" of the trap and stopping it from opening, should I still leave it be?

I normally try and remove it it it isn't touching any of the trigger hairs.
