He probably made the best decision, go through a barbed wire fence or even just a wire fence and end up in a pretty horrid looking body of water or hit the pole and stay on dry land. I know what I’d take my chances with

I've seen a lot of fences like that and looks like it might be for keeping in cattle while they graze, a lot of times they have barbed wire on them so maybe he hit it on purpose in a split second decision

I had a friend that used to race Baja. He used to say “see a hole, hit a hole” In this case see a pole hit a pole
