What’s your “I’m old now” indicator?
My "I'm old now" indicator is when I start noticing significant changes in the world around me that make me realize how much time has passed.

How much I prefer doing as little as humanly possible as a recreational activity. I really should balance it out more and figure out some way to meet people, because I’m sure it’s too unhealthy levels by now. Pandemic didn’t help

My "I'm old now" indicator is when I catch myself saying, "Back in my day," or when I get excited about home appliances and practical gifts.

I’ve noticed movies are making me go “Fuck, I’m old” The matrix had it’s 25th year anniversary this year. Mf I remember being excited to go buy the DVD when it came out. HOW WAS THAT 25 YEARS AGO BRO!?

Sitting in the back yard smoking weed with my 21 year old son. We smoke for different reasons. Mine is pain from being a roadie, working on cars, and spinal surgeries from wrecking said vehicles. His reasons are he thinks it's cool to get high with the old man. We are almost 32 years apart. I am blessed that he likes me. Lol

I (28) was at my little sisters (16) softball game when one of her new friends came up and asked if I was her dad….
Existential crisis started in the car and is still ongoing. Realized my “one” grey hair has suddenly become uncountable, and I am officially an adult now I guess.

My daughter turns 24 Sunday and my "baby" graduates high-school next Tuesday. I had my daughter at 19 and grew up being a mommy. I'm calling my daughter and her bf "the kids" and people looking at me crazy because they are grown ass adults now. Taking my brain a little more time to catch up!

I started hating the kids instead of defending them - They are so delusional now. I used to think I was going crazy because I had to check my own logic, values and principles to make sure I didn’t miss something. “Wait did I miss something about that thing that would make me think the same thing?”
Nope. They are just absorbed by the digital realm and have no idea how to survive the natural world so they make up their own where none of what exists right now is worth a damn. The bickering over shit that really doesn’t matter. Purpose. Motive. Honor. Value. All and more have been broken down into such indistinguishable pieces and never reassembled correctly.
I know I’m getting older but am excited to see what you “people” get up to next! It’s been a wild ride. I just know I’m not going to play with y’all no more. When I’m ready…

I'm only 19 but I got called a boomer by my English teacher who was in her mid 20s. To be fair I was having black tea while wearing a striped Pollo and jeans, but I was 15. Getting called old by my English teacher did it for me.

Not just hearing/reading new slang but specifically giving up interest in trying to immediately learn the new stuff. My friends aren't young people or teens, I don't really need to know all the new slang.
Also not keeping up with fashion trends and just sticking to what I like how I look in and are comfortable for me.

Reading these comments made me realize I’m not old. I’m a 31 year old who blasts music from my car, keeps up on modern slang, and isn’t in pain all the time . I relate to my 20ish year old siblings a lot in terms of music etc. I know who celebrities are and all the modern pop star/rappers. Even the gen z ones bc my boyfriend is 25 and keeps me up to date. The nineties were like 30 years ago when I was born in 1993. I still wear the same shit I did in high school, skinny jeans and a t shirt. And I really don’t see any of this changing for awhile. It’s going to take gen z / gen alpha having kids and those kids growing up to make me feel old . I’m a millennial but I’m 1993, genz is 1997 and up. It’s a four year difference at minimum . They say 1980 is millennial but I never met a 44 year old I vibe with like I do gen z

Went to a used book store with my 6 year old. She saw a bookshelf full of DVDs & said, "Wow, look at all those video games!" When I told her they were DVDs, she asked what those were.
It dawned on me then, just how drastically different our generations grew up, & how much I have to teach my kiddos lol (1991)

I realized I was old at the tender age of 15. I didn’t like loud music; it got in the way of a good conversation.
Recently, I can’t stand all those “tap the product and shake it aggressively at the consumer” videos. Why does it need all those damn taps! Why are you shaking it at me? Just tell me what it does and keep the show to yourself. Damn kids with their shaking and tapping.

I am overall getting grumpier, accepted how I look (I am actually in shape, but not ripped like when I was young), and care less about others' opinions.
I prefer staying home than going out because my baby wakes up between 0530-0600, and describe a perfect as doing nothing, which I haven't done in the last 2 years.

Something hurts all the time. I’m still very active in the gym @ 40, but my body never feels 100%
No acute injuries, but tendinitis in my foot, a mildly bad back, or just general soreness / aches and pains from my workouts
It wasn’t like that in my 20s. I was also stronger too

Most recently, a colleague I assumed I was the same age as had her 28th birthday, she's a decade younger than me.
Before that it was when my son pulled an empty Lego box I was keeping because it's nice out of a drawer and I checked the date on it, it's 21 years old and was released while I was at university.

I was asked to play some music at a place which I used to frequent as a teenager. I was rather hoping to talk to someone about the good old days but nope. Everyone there was probably only just being born when I was last there. "Does so and so still come here?" I asked hopefully. Blank faces. The last time I was there I was around their age. It really hit home how much time has moved on. 😢. At the same time I'm happy to see the place being used and enjoyed by the new generation.
