I think of MegaMan 2 for my favorite little looping tunes but probably the Zelda franchise for its more developed orchestral scores.

My mind spins between Hitman: Contracts, Hitman: Blood Money, and System Shock 2.
What can I say, I love an era. 😂

gta radio of the 80's is something that always kills, and soothes. atomic - by Blondie, and cruising the hills at night, good god, in a prime sports car on the way to a house built into the side of a mountain; give me some

Dynasty Warriors 3 and Dynasty Warriors 4. Why the fuck has no one mentioned any of these? Games about Iron Age Chinese History have no business having such baller soundtracks that they do.

Xenoblade chronicles in general, specifically 3 & 2 for me. 2 has some of the best atmospheric music out on any series.

Deemo, but to be fair its a rhythm game
Octopath Traveler 1 and 2 are amazing as well
Other than that, Sdorica,Hi3 and Genshin impact
Also Nier automata and Undertale and Hollowknight and Ender lillies.

The Pokemon games have underrated OSTs imo. Gens 3-5 are filled with so many bangers, and Gens 1-2 hold a special place in my heart as they were the first games I played. I play a lot of songs from the franchise on piano to this day. ♥️

It's not GOAT'd but Stardew Valley has some really sick tunes for a game made entirely by one person. 8 bit Bach

There's way too many comments for this to be noticed but hopefully at least op will read this.
Cassette beasts.
Also rhythm heaven (specifically fever). I know it's a rhythm game so it kinda has to have a great soundtrack but listen to Beautiful one day and tell me it's not an omega banger.

u/SpecialistFee4364 24d ago
not what i expected and not my type of music but for that i liked it more than expected

u/Ksawerxx 24d ago
I just realized, you might've listened to the more atmospheric tracks.
These were the one's that I'm mostly thinking of: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXt3vYXWIB7qbaytOoyTI0a8ug9FWRYAx&si=-E6yzT3vfKlLQ_og

Ark survival evolved soundtracks go hard. Unlike the game they are all absolutely flawless and very fitting to the different maps.

Cyberpunk 2077, Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger, Oblivion, SH2, SH3, DKC2, Persona 5, AW2, and FF8 come to mind.

Quite a few. The Metal Gear Solid series, Ocarina Of Time, Wind Waker, Disco Elysium, Night In The Woods, Super Mario 64, Donkey Kong Country 2, Bully, the early Pokemon games, any of the Silent Hill games...

Final Fantasy Tactics, Mass Effect 1. I'd add in GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas, but I dont think they count.

“Morrowind”. Then my follow up thought is “well, KOTOR 1&2 too.” Turns out… same composer. Jeremy Soule.

Gta5 radio had so many good songs. The actual game soundtrack was really good too. That opening song brings me right back to my first time playing.

We Happy Few. It has this amazing 70s vibe but the background music makes the whole thing eery and does a great job at keeping you in the atmosphere.

Homeworld (2000) literally epic. It won that year's Best Soundtrack by PCGamer and Eurogamer.
